Just a thought on that.
The chances are quite low that someone might get lucky and guess Alabaster's name correctly, but that might be a solution? Like, someone goes, "Well, I'll just call you... I don't know. Alabaster?" or something and Alabster can get excited or nod his head or something to indicate that yes, that's actually his name.
It's a big coincidence, but I guess it could happen. That's probably what I'd do in this situation if it were me.

History: Pebblestream never got to know her parents and grew up in ShadowPack. She was well loved by her now-forgotten foster mother, growing up quickly from a sickly pup to a healthy warrior. As she grew older, a dam named Lilyfrost died after birthing a single pup. Pebblestream stepped in to care for the once-sickly pup after the pup's father left. Pebblestream watched as the pup, named Ashpup, grow from sickly to healthy in a matter of moons. She remains very close with Ashfeather

Personality: Ashfeather is extremely quiet and holds a dark personality. She may seem sweet and kind on the outside but that masks her cold, vicious, ruthless and obsessively vengeful personality. Despite all of this, she looks up to her leader and wishes to follow in her pawsteps.
History: Ashfeather was born as Ashpup to Lilyfrost and Birchfang, two well-respected warriors of ShadowPack. She was one of four extremely sick pups. Lilyfrost and three of the pups died that night, too weak after birth. Birchfang, distraught, left the Pack to become a doggiepet. Ashpup, being the sole survivor, was taken under the elderly dam Pebblestream's care. Ashfeather remains very close to Pebblestream

Hmm. I also thought of Gleon's idea. But the problem with that one is that if they were to call him something they would give him an ending part. Like Alabasterpaw. Idk. Let's just make them somehow know the name.

Perhaps, since he knows how to read and write, he could write out his name and they would all try to sound it out and when someone guesses correctly he can like wag his tail and nod?

Personally, I'd mostly leave the choice up to Firelight, because it's their character, but really, all of them sounded fine

As of earlier this morning, he isn't feeling any better and he told me to stay home
He also said if he isn't feeling better by tomorrow, he'll be setting up a appointment with his doctor
I am very concerned for him and I know he doesn't want to get me sick but I have this pit-feeling in my stomach that it may be something bad
