Description: She is a dark grey she-cat with one white spot on her head, she has pretty green eyes and light pink nose.
Important notes: She is quite snippy and has little patients for apprentices. She dislikes when things aren't done right or against the code. She is an amazing fighter and average, if not a little slow at hunting. She likes to practice fighting and show off her skills, her focus on that made her a clumsy hunter. She usually leads border patrols and no one likes to pick her for hunting ones.
Name:Honeyshard(I may need a new ending, I just liked the way this sounded haha)
Description: She is a small very light amber/goldish cat. She has deep brown eyes.
Important notes:She is a great hunter when she isn't with kits. She prefers to do things alone, with the exception of her mate. She always likes to have him with her(hence all the kits lol).
(Wow that was long sorry x) )
Don't worry about it. This info's actually very important for proper naming. (At least you didn't go on and on about tragic pasts or anything. All this is information that's required!)
PetalclawRate: 7/10
Type: Canonical
Reasoning: -claw fits her perfectly - she's a skilled fighter and has no doubt proven that many times over. Petal- doesn't work so well, because a petal doesn't mean much on its own. Even it if was referencing the mark on her forehead or her nose, that's not really showing what the cat looks like, just focusing on one teeny part, and besides that, it carries no real color meaning. Like Flower-, it's not specific enough to properly give a mental image of the cat without having met her. If you were to point me to a line of cats of wildly varying colors and asked me to pick out the one named Flower-, I couldn't help you, but if you were to ask for Holly- or Laurel-, then we would be getting somewhere.
Anyway, to my knowledge there are a few plants that convey a grey cat, so let's see what I can dig up.
Alternative Name: Ivyclaw/Stormclaw. Both prefixes are for a dark-grey cat, and -claw stays as it is.
Notes: I might put up Petal-/Flower- on the names list on the front page, thank you for reminding me. I don't get it much, but it's fairly significant.

Reasoning: Like Petalclaw up there, one part of her name fits her perfectly, but the other is an issue. In this case, it's -shard.
I'm never quite sure what that suffix is supposed to mean. For every time I've seen it, there's no real rhythm or reason to it besides sounding cool, as you said. Traditionalism, generally, ignores the rule of cool and goes for practicality and meaning. In any case, you recognize that it might need changing, and she has a few suffixes that would work well, so there is that.
Alternative Name: Honeyflower/Honeywhisker. It's implied that she's a good mother, or at least likes to raise and care for kits, as evidence of her regular flow of little ones (luckily her mate seems to like them just as much as she does, otherwise we' have a real issue there), and -flower symbolizes someone with a good maternal instinct and skill in raising up kittens. On the other hand, she's also a good hunter, which earns her the -whisker suffix. It's all up to you.
Notes: Some argue that -flower is more of a personality thing, and would go below -whisker, which is a skill, but I highly disagree - it really takes some talent to raise kids properly and do it on the first try. Have you ever raised babies? That crap ain't easy! So I define -flower as a skill name, not a personality name. Of course, if you think it's more personality-based, then go with -whisker.
