appearance;; black hair, dark brown eyes that shift into a bright honey color when emotionally charged. lean, slightly muscular build. five foot six inches high.

personality;; if toby were to be described in only one word it would be angry. while he keeps most things to himself, he also lets out a lot onto other people. often times, he doesn't have the best control over his own emotions, so he feels whatever he feels and tends to lash out at anyone who's in the blast radius of his freak outs. he's a defeatist at best, stuck in the belief that many things in life are hopeless or come to an end eventually. others will find him to be unreasonably rude, sharp-tongued, and much of his behavior lacks manners, so it's not uncommon for his first impressions to start him off with a bad image because of his nature. he's somewhat suspicious of people who want to get close to him and unnecessarily defensive because of it. it may not be noticeable to others, but toby is conflicted with himself a lot. he's insecure and terrified of his future but hides it well behind his anger. on the off-chance that he does gain a friend, they find him to be extremely reliable, protective and caring in his own special way.

history;; toby had a rather tough life growing up. his mother dipped on him and his older brother basically as soon as he was born, so he never had the chance of knowing her. his father was rather stern and sometimes harsh, to point that toby pretty much avoided him when he could. his life was a tale of depression and anxiety for a time, struggling with school among other sorts, and during that time his powers grew nearly impossible to ignore any longer. his father found out through an argument between them and sent him to the government. it took months before he had gotten himself out of there and ran for his life, landing him in with the hidden.

abilities;; toby's powers circle around emotions and sensations, surprisingly enough--
cosmic empathy - sense, feel, and understand emotions on an immense scale. constantly active. may not be able to handle large amounts of emotions at once. may experience headaches. able to also push emotions onto others, which may happen involuntary if uncontrolled. may experience mind and body fatigue if ability is improperly managed.
experience sharing - share and receive experiences with other people, which include the feelings and thoughts from the experiences that are chosen to be shared. can also share the experience of learning something for others to acquire that skill.
emotion empowerment - become empowered from emotions. turns on like a switch and burns off over time. the rate at which it burns off depends on how toby paces his energy-usage. enhances strength, stamina, and durability. weakened to certain emotions such as sadness, fear, guilt, and hopelessness. augmented by anger, hatred, happiness, and hope.

appearance;; dark red hair with brown roots; undercut style. dark brown eyes. lean but masculine build. five foot eight inches high. his veins will pulse black through his skin if abilities are overused.

personality;; it is a well-known fact that while jae may seem passive, quiet and lenient, one shouldn't underestimate him. he's quick to rile up if he feels that he's being talked down to, insulted or threatened. for the most part, he's extremely docile if that attitude's returned back to him; his belief is to treat others how he's treated, so he'll do exactly that without holding back. when he's not chewing someone out, he's pretty quiet and stoic, often not having much to say unless he's spoken to. he doesn't really allow many emotions to make it's way onto his face, though his body posture is a good teller of how he's feeling. while he carries himself with confidence primarily, he grows noticeably more uncomfortable when dealing with crowds of people or high-stress situations. he doesn't break too quick under pressure, but you can tell that it bothers him, and everyone flipping out will cause him to flip out eventually as well. jae is rather good at keeping himself in check, calm and collected when times really need it, but those are also the moments that he is the most fiery.

history;; growing up, jae's parents got into arguments with eachother, and jae was often stuck in the middle or as a witness. they felt they needed to stay together to be there for their only child but it was really more damaging to him than anything. when they finally divorced, custody was split, and he visited his father on the weekends, primarily living with his mother. his mother worked double the jobs to keep up with rent and grocery's. so no, jae wasn't exactly wealthy, and he often didn't get much or ask for anything as he knew that money was always tight. because of his upbringing, jae hardened and matured early, though having trouble fitting in with social situations such as school. he wasn't on top of his grades either, and he was generally troublesome with the teachers, landing him into detention more than once. when he found out about his pocket dimension, he was terrified; he ran away from home and bumped into the hidden in his distress.

abilities;; jae's powers exist with the intention of messing with one's mind to activate a fear response, which can help distract them or make them surrender out of fear--
void magic - gains his power from what he calls the void. can conjure void energy into manipulating atmospheres or auras surrounding another. can cause target(s) to feel paranoia, dread, and fear. can be detrimental to jae's health even when used in small amounts; but it really depends on the user's mental state and strength. limited to how many people he can use it on at a time. must be in control of his own emotions to use it properly without harm to himself. can craft void into small weapons such as knives or shurikens, and can even use the void in his hands when fighting melee.
pocket dimension - jae has his own little pocket dimension, which is a small personal world that he can visit or bring others in with him; for jae, this is where the void stays. when he visits it, he'll seem asleep in real-time. there's only darkness, there's no concept of time, there's no air, and sounds echo. often not involuntary, but when he visits, he may "lose himself" a little. has little to no control over what happens in there, as he can not manipulate it. he visits it to regain lost energy.
