Waxwing, you could just have her be like Sunny from the WOF books, a hybrid that got the short end of the stick but still finds a way to save the world and be awesome without things that most dragons have. She could be smaller than average and very fast, able to overwhelm much bigger opponents with her speed and precision. If you want a tragic backstory, you could say that the other dragonets made fun of her for her weird appearance, so she secluded herself in training.

@dragonsFall.. honestly, if Pheonix's form had been posted on my Wings of Fire roleplay, I probably wouldn't have accepted it. (In fact, on my roleplay I don't even allow any form of magic including Animus powers because its just too often that people abuse powers.)
And, by the way, if somebody even STARTS to argue that im being unfair, i will delete this post and drop the whole thing. Im not getting in a pointless argument over this.

I think that Pheonix and Ray are good characters, honestly. But.. Pheonix is overpowered (and has no explanation to her powers that i've been able to find) and Ray's story is just in general full of holes. I think that if they were fixed to be less.. incomplete, they could make for very interesting characters to roleplay with.
