They have to be from your character's House as well
I just realized that the two best Arryn cats for the job of Lord/Lady are played be people who also play Wardens

(No offense, Poppyfang and Silverwillow's RPers)
Halfjaw is super critical, this is going to be very difficult for him.

@Lucy
I know the mentors were already assigned, but wouldn't it make more sense for cats to be trained by cats in their House? That way, the cats in their House can teach them the specific traits of the House. Maybe apprentices should get two mentors: one to train them from 6 moons to 9 or so moons in basic hunting and fighting, and then one of their House to train them from 9 moons to 12 moons in the hunting, fighting, and ways of their House?

Ternpaw is accepted!
I do see where you are coming from. Considering the each House represents a Family, they are probably supposed to be taught the traditions as they grow up anyway. I just keep thinking about how it probably isn't wise to have family members train other family members considering they might go easy on them or say that they are ready to be a knight when they have barely begun.
However... it would create more of a division between family houses. What do the rest of you think on this?
Mentors from the same house or no?

In my opinion, it depends. Maybe the apprentices could learn from cats who were in the clan for a long while. The cats that were in the clan for a long while could be well-rounded in normal battle routines, normal hunting routines, etc. Then, when the apprentices (squires) have completed this portion of their training, then they could move on to mentors in their own House.
So, in shorter words... based on what @MacManus said.
"Sherlock Holmes. Surely you've heard of me?"
