shadowblaze has always lived his life between two choices. even his name is a dichotomy. to be a leader is to set an example for your peers, to care for and to take responsibility for them. how can someone who operates on their own expect to be successful in leading a group? why be a leader? shadowblaze's reason for doing so is admittedly not for the greater good, or because he thinks he's the most capable of the lot to do so. it's for a selfish reason. he's searching for his own answers as to what happened during the war. this anger and hatred he feels at the world is directed at himself, and he's willing to put others' on the line if it means he can take his revenge. it's to alleviate his guilt for not being able to protect his clanmates, his weaknesses. it's to curb his bloodlust. he is relentlessly driven by his own revenge. he's able to take the lead of the group, not because the others respect or believe in him, but simply because they are intimidated by him.

a deep-seated grudge against oakclan has taken root over him ever since the war. the medicine cat of larchclan was murdered by an oakclan warrior. this cat was extremely dear to shadowblaze (dk what kind of relation tho!) and after their untimely death, shadowblaze undergone a massive personality change. initially just stand-offish and sometimes curt, his personality took an extreme turn, becoming extremely cynical, distrustful and cold towards everyone.
