—✫background: The name Purcell is no secret to the town of Nearon. They're known for their Greek-like home and extravagant parties. Annalise is from a family of nine children, landing a spot as the third child of the family. She had a particularly special relationship with her older sister and first younger sister; the three are known as the Golden Trio. Ironically enough, all are very different, yet get along extremely well. Annie was the independent lady of the family. She found her passion for art and culture young, and was determined to become a painter in the future, rather than a housemaid, a mother. Annalise has never had the desire to marry, despite the fact that that has been drilled in her head since day one. As she grew older, her passion for art increased, but her disgust for marriage and commitment also grew. Although she knows as a lady she must eventually settle down, she has no intentions for that anytime soon.

A bit of a rebel, Annalise is; she has little issues following through with some cheeky encouragement, always eager to get the crowd going. She absolutely adores animals of all sorts with her whole heart, and will often find herself getting distracted doing whatever she is doing if her eyes settle on an unfamiliar one in the distance. She likes their attention better than peoples' and will openly make that known to anyone and everyone.

Annalise has a pretty pioneering personality, always ready to take on a new adventure. To be quite frank, she often jumps feet first in, rather than head, deciding to play along and sort things out as she tumbles through. She's rather bold, lacking a bit of a filter some days, and unfortunately doesn't always catch her slips if she accidentally says something on the more offensive side of things unless someone were to verbally say it. If Annie feels what she says owes an apology, she'll be right on it, but if it's more opinionated and she feels there's a reasoning behind her words, she'll gladly stick up to it and argue her point in hopes of getting those around her to see things through her perspective. She also has big dreams, and dislikes when people turn them down because they're too "unrealistic." All of this often causes problems, given her gender, and she receives quite a lot of scolding from her mother, telling her to act more womanly. She rarely listens, though Annie does love dressing up and feeling very pretty, as long as she knows others know she's as charming as she feels.

Annie was born with a sarcastic tongue. Sass is her favourite thing to touch on, and the two combined together makes her superior.
She also loves to tease, though admittedly has a great sense of acting, and those who aren't familiar with her can sometimes get confused as to whether or not she's teasing, or if she is dead-serious. She likes to keep that she secret more often than not, as well.
A total klutz, she is, Annalise finds herself tumbling into situations no normal human-being could end up in. Though extremely book smart, she lacks the "street" part needed, often struggling with basic human needs, often because she simply doesn't remember (especially if it doesn't interest her!).

Though confident and lively, Annie can sometimes be a bit too foolhardy, as well as impulsive. If she wants something, she wants to do it right away, which can make her a bit impatient. She'll make her undesired waiting known, too. If her mind is set to something, she can unintentionally become a bit more selfish, desiring her needs before others', but that's almost always because she doesn't want to switch her mindset at that moment.

—♚ background: The Shaw family seemingly never had luck on their end. Marina Shaw, mother of Lauren, died at birth. For years she was unable to bear children, but she was determined to keep trying, and when she finally carried Lauren and gave birth, she lost too much blood to push on. Lauren was a very intelligent young boy, but he had a disadvantage - he was dyslexic. It wasn't a known thing at the time, but it was enough for Lauren's father to declare the boy stupid and useless. He wanted nothing to do with Lauren. Upon hearing about this mistreatment, Marina's best friend, Rhonda, stepped in and took Lauren in as her own. She didn't have a house as big as Lauren's father's, but she was patient, and helped him learn to the best of his abilities.

If only things could get worse. When Lauren was around seventeen, he discovered his father had become a huge alcoholic and gambler. To add to that, he had spent nearly all of his and Lauren's savings, leaving Lauren with pretty much nothing when he died. And that happened too soon. Lauren had just turned nineteen when it was announced that his father was on his death bed. Lauren was furious with him. The man who rejected him, burned his letters, and spent all their money. The man who called his son "no son of [his]," "a stupid boy with no honour." So, on his death bed, Lauren vowed that he would never reproduce and carry on the family name. He was determined to have the Shaw name die with him. His father died right then and there- unknowingly because of shock or simply that his heart had stopped. Lauren moved to the other side of Arkley and hasn't once visited his father's grave.

He works as a landlord now; he is part of a small company based around real estate and flipping houses, and mostly deals with the numbers. Although his wage is comfortable, Lauren barely uses it for himself. He is either paying back the men who were poorly outsmarted by his father's fox-like tricks during his time, or lending his earnings to Rhonda. He doesn't often feel his own person needs the goods a typical human-being needs to get by.

—♚ attitude: In terms of first-impressions, Lauren has always been reserved, shy from the spotlight. He hates receiving a lot of attention at once and would sharply make that known if need-be. First impressions don't mean much to him, nor does the whole putting on a fake act of happiness so the others would like you more move appeal to him. In fact, he can be a bit cold at first if he isn't in the mood for whatever is currently happening when someone first meets him. He isn't a rude guy- his manners, in fact, are quite exquisite- but he isn't the type to sugarcoat things to make life better. For the most part, that is. If Lauren truly cares for someone and knows about something that might hurt them, he'll do his best to keep it from them as long as possible. That being said, Lauren has never been one for secrets, whether that is in terms of having them kept from him, or he keeping them from others. He's good at keeping them, but it often pains him.

He enjoys intellectual conversations and having something to do. He's really quite a smart guy, having obtained a busy mind that rarely rests. Small-talk doesn't appeal to him, and yet, at the same time, it takes him a bit to voice his opinion. Lauren really is a pretty laid-back man. He doesn't get offended easily, unless it's trash-talking his loved ones, or sneered comments about his father in regards to himself. Lauren does his best to keep his father's disappointment in him to himself, for that is enough to shatter his hard-working heart, but it's not a secret to everyone. He gets angered easily when people refer to him as anything to do with his father, and unfortunately, he often acts out physically or verbally before taking a second to take a breath and calm down. In fact, it takes a certain personality to calm him down, and he has only come across that once, with Rhonda. He hates that he has the same bloodline as the man he has to call his father, and doesn't at all like talking about him to anyone.

His toughness is usually an act. Inside, Lauren is hurting. The flame in the pit of his stomach is nothing more than a spark, flickering in and out, and he fears one day it will burn out completely. He needs support, someone to wrap their arms around him and tell him they'd protect him, and that everything is okay. He craves love, and yet, his walls are up too high and his skin is too thick to let it in easily. In fact, he'll push away nearly a dozen of times, and it's up to the other person to choose if he is worth it or not. One day he will open up, but that is in the long future. He constantly tells himself he isn't strong enough to confess the vow on his father's death bed, and won't allow someone else to get severely hurt over it.

augustus likes to hide all his problems behind a care-free attitude and flirtatious smiles. gus
tends to be very boisterous for some coming from the kingdom of arkley. augustus is loud and
in your face in hopes that you don't see the cracks he is so desperate to hide. he is known by
most in his kingdom the black sheep as he doesn't seem to act quite as regal as most would
like or expect. he does take a particular liking to erking the elder people any chance his gets,
looking to see their annoyed looks. augustus loves to tease and just have fun, believing life is
way too short to do anything else. under all the playfulness and teasing, there is a much more
vulnerable guy. despite his loud attitude, gus is fairly insecure but that only makes him act up
even more in order to hide that. he is very much afraid of someone seeing him acting in his
true nature and deeming him unworthy like his own family. when he is in a comfortable state,
augustus is quite tender and very observant. he is quite tactile with the people he considers
close. there isn't a single thing he wouldn't do for these few people; he'd even give all his rich-
es if he knew that would make it better for them.

born into the de vries family, a well-known name in the fire-arms business, money has always
been there. he can very well be seen as the one with a silver spoon in his mouth. growing up,
augustus never truly had to worry for anything. while his parents were, and still are, very stri-
ct on him, he never did have to worry about his next meal or staying warm through cold wint-
ers. the de vries famiy though, is hiding a great amount from the other wealthy families in
arkley. that family name hasn't be 'pure' in a very long time and it isn't because of augustus
and all of his attitude problems. it has always been a weight on gus' shoulders though, to keep
the family secrets to himself and to not allow anyone to know that there is something wrong.
its given augustus a very skewed idea on what family is actually suppose to be. seeing people
who actually fond of their family, is very odd for gus. they are very much like unicorns for him;
they don't actually exist do they? isn't it normal for a family to just hate each other's guts?
as grown though, augustus just like to get on his father's nerves; it's his one true goal in life.
after all the hardships his father's put him through, gus only seems to think it's fair to return it.

josephine can be quite the spitfire, not one the be known to step do-

Personality:
Elizabeth was always the kind of person who stuck out compared to everyone else. She always seemed to break the mold of what others told her to be. While other girls played with dolls and tea, she played in the dirt and bugs. She would be told to stand up straight, have manners, be lady-like but the more they told her to do that the more she didn't want to.
Liza is very opinionated and individualistic, she doesn't seem to like to obey rules and doesn't care about the consequences of breaking them. She speaks her mind and doesn't care if she is in the presence of someone royal or important, she WILL have her words heard. She has a problem with not biting her tongue and that can potentially get her into a lot of trouble. She has no filter.

Of course, Liza has a little bit of a dreamer inside her, she wants adventure and to travel. This is why she loves books, it's a way to escape the world she is in now and live as someone else. Though because of the lack of money, she doesn't have much access to books. But lack of money never bothered her, she is very grateful for everything she has and will read over and over the books, she does have until the pages fall apart.

When you first meet Liza she seems a bit turned off at the thought of friends or interactions, she has always been a loner. But that's mostly because others didn't really understand her or accept her and how odd she is. She comes off as "hard to get" but in a sarcastic kind of way. But get to know her and you actually see she is kind and gentle, and a lot of fun to be around. She is proud, independent, and a hard worker. She has worked for everything she has, she doesn't need anyone's help or a handout.

On the inside Liza is pretty lonely, it did hurt a lot when she grew up not having any friends, and a lot of the girls picked on her, back then when she was younger she had short hair, the girls used to always call her a little boy, which is one of the reasons her hair is so long now. But she does have a soft vulnerable side that can come out when she feels trapped, even if she puts off this cold persona at that time.

Elizabeth doesn't hate the thought of love, she just has been on her alone for so long that she doesn't think she needs it. She never has seen herself at the hands of a man, and refuses to be. This may also be because of there never being a male in her life to begin with, no father figure or anything.

Appearance:
Elizabeth stands at 5'6", she has long dark brown hair that she usually keeps braided or pulled back someway. She is slender and dainty. Her eyes are dark brown but can look lightened in the sunlight and her skin is a natural lightly tanned look a bit glowy.
History:
Elizabeth was born among a woman who is a seamstress [who doesn't make that much money, unless the occasional events like a ball or wedding]. At least that's what she is told, what Liza doesn't know is she is actually an orphan that was adopted by the woman she calls Mother. Her "mother" found her abandoned and took her home one day and has never said a word about it. Elizabeth grew up poor and struggling, which is probably one of the reasons she is so very thin, luckily she is healthy, her mother did everything she could to make sure that Liza got everything she needed to survive.
She still to this day has no idea she is adopted and not even really a "Chambers".
Her real parents were no better off. They lived on the streets, and giving up their daughter was one of the hardest things they could've done. But the birth mother of Liza was extremely sick and predicted to die after having Elizabeth so with no hope for the future or their daughters they left her in a high traffic area were someone was bound to see her and take her in.
