- name, Felix Stewart | age, 25 | gender, male | sexuality, bisexual | powers, reactive adaptation
appearance, Felix is quite an imposing figure, standing at 6'2" (188cm) with a muscular build from years in The Pantheon. He has light blue eyes and think brown hair, worn short and brushed away from his face and forehead. The only time you'll see him with any sort of stubble on his chin is when he's extremely stressed and doesn't have the time to maintain his appearance. Fashion is a very low priority for him, and he generally wears whatever he finds comfortable, resulting in him cycling through the same shirts and jeans. (fc: Liam Hemsworth)
history, Felix had been watched since his birth, his mutation engineered from before he was even conceived. It was a very powerful one after all - the power to change the body according to the problem. His childhood consisted mainly of training and tests as the government molded him into a near-invincible leader. Because his power cannot be activated consciously, he's been in many near-death situations, in order for him to understand what his body would make or change when faced with a particular danger, and how to use his new-found abilities. As a result of his many experiences of drowning, falling, and standing in front of a train, to name a few, Felix has no sense of danger, and he hasn't reacted to it since he was eight. He's learned how to use his ability in other ways as well, such as sharpening his senses when he needed to detect something, or increasing his muscle mass to push or pull incredibly heavy things. He's been put through many psychological scenarios as well, testing his judgement as a leader and ability to think on the spot.
He was placed into the rank of Jupiter when he was passed over to the Pantheon at the age of eighteen (might change this, hmm), and spent five years years hunting mutants and training his ability further. In his time as the leader, he started to question their goal. He knew his childhood was quite different from most, and about concepts like parents. But to see that some of the mutants were just children, and to view their happy lives before the Pantheon knocked on their door struck a protective chord in him. At the very least, they could train these mutants to control their powers, or work for the government. The members in the Pantheon were mutants as well, and they were more of a danger to society than anything.
Felix learned about the resistance through a mutant he caught by himself, who tattled about the group before Felix released the boy. That set into motion his plans to leave the Pantheon, and to help the resistance survive, if not somehow overthrow this system they found themselves in. In another patrol where it was just himself, he dashed, and found his way into the rebelling group. It was quite a new experience, as the only people he'd been around were highly trained soldiers or researchers, people who have a strong goal and the ability to follow rules and orders without question. Being in in this group of free-spirited and fearful young adults for two years, and eventually leading it, has been at various times a frustrating and anxious experience. He has never regretted his decision to leave the Pantheon though, and would do it again, and earlier, if he had the chance to decide again.
personality, Felix has a surprisingly mild personality, despite the air of self-confidence around him. He's friendly and extroverted, keen to develop bonds with others and quick to empathize. He deeply cares for the members of the group and there isn't much he wouldn't do to protect them. He praises often and predominantly sees people's positive traits, partly because he was trained to utilize all available abilities and resources, but also because he is genuinely impressed. In times of crisis though, his gentle personality quickly snaps into one appropriate for a general: he's strict, commanding and can be harsh towards those that don't obey or defy his instructions. Though he often tries to word his orders gently, he doesn't have the time to spare thinking about how someone feels towards sharp demands, prioritizing their life and safety first over emotions. He wants to ensure everyone is in a safe location before heading to fight the threat, and people who don't comply endanger the rest. This is just his way of caring under pressure, feeling that an iron fist is needed to maintain order in a panicked group. He has a very strong sense of responsibility, and would regard every injured member as his fault, and that he could have done something better.
Though he excels at thinking carefully and quickly, Felix can also be quite reckless. He has many reasons for it, such as knowing the enemy tactics well (having led the Pantheon before), and that he would be more of a target as a traitor. But ultimately it is because of his reactive adaptation ability, and his lack of fear when faced with danger. His belief goes that since he has this power, wouldn't it be better that he is injured rather than other members in the group? Felix is very stubborn over this, and could only be persuaded otherwise by a better plan.
Felix doesn't have a hobby other than training and experimenting with his ability, having done nothing else in his life. As a result he can be difficult to find, since he could basically be anywhere. He could be practicing swimming underwater, jumping insane distances from one rooftop to another, ramming himself into a tree or trying to camouflage with the rocks. The way he trains can be quite violent and dangerous, so he doesn't like having others around in case something goes wrong.
