Oooh, he sounds very interesting. I think it'd be a very cool experience to have him in the rp, but I still dunno about how he's gonna interact w/ anyone unless someone else makes a rouge/loner as well.

Hm, Servants are new, aren't they? :3 And elders are listed as 'Respected' instead of 'Commoner', if I remember correctly. Although with Foxfire's backstory, he might be knocked from a Scribe to a Servant, now that I think about it, hm... I'll have to think about that one, unless there's a way for outsiders to somehow prove themselves worthy to gain ranks above it. Viper would be a servant too if he weren't a rogue.

Yeah that's my main problem with the idea of tossing him into the rp. He'd probably have to just be a side character - I'm not using him the whole time, only when there's a chance someone would run into him.

It was a gold bangle he wore around his front left leg! Burningpaw gave it to him as he died, because he was a guard's apprentice, so he had access to more expensive things. I don't think it was ever important enough to mention but the bangle was actually passed down in Burningpaw's family for a good few generations - many guards in the family.

@Fortune's Fool Oh my god I've been lowkey stalking the old discussion thread and I'm absolutely dying. All the plots and ships are still fun as hell to reread. We should totally start that up again...

Edit;; Psh...of course we need Servants! This is ancient Egypt, oc... ;3 And yes, it is possible for a Servant to rise above their station- but it's rare. They basically have to do something that catches the eye of a high rank in order to be recommended for something they might be more useful for.

OH- I should mention that due to a Servant's low rank, they are not allowed a mate as they are viewed as generally lowlifes- and the future of Sunclan doesn't rely on such "lowly" cats.

Along with the fact that I have decided we're far along enough to allow this...

Intelligent and quick-witted, as a kit and later a young scout's apprentice Shadedkit-turned-paw was a whirlwind of questions and energy. The only kit of his litter, he was however only a few days younger than the only surviving {albeit accidental} kit of a new guard and a fighter. This was Burningkit, and - despite Shadedkit himself being the son of a scout and a scribe - the two became fast friends. Burningkit-turned-paw, descended from a long line of incredibly talented guards, tempered his impulsive nature with a slightly more strict outlook while still being intelligent and sharp enough to keep up with him. The two were constant companions whenever their different roles and ranks would allow growing up and anyone who may have paid close attention likely would have realized that neither's feelings for the other were staying in the field of strictly platonic.
Nearing the end of Shadedpaw's apprenticeship however, tragedy struck - Burningpaw stumbling into camp before succumbing to a snake bite he was apparently being just careless enough to be unable to avoid. His final words, heard by any of the clan that had gathered at the commotion, was to gift Shadedpaw with a gold bangle he always wore - an item that had been passed down from parent to kit in his family for many generations that had been gifted to him by his mother when he became an apprentice. It took a guard and multiple scouts to coax and pry the distraught Shadedpaw from his friends side afterward.

He changed, after that. The usually fairly outgoing tom became distant, communicating only when he needed to in order to fulfill his role. His change of prefix was orchestrated by himself, most of what he said for the longest time being simply stating 'Fadedpaw' every time someone used his name. He'd lost sight of himself after the sudden loss of the cat he'd been closest to, and eventually the name became official. Despite his sudden shift to being introspective and distant, Fadedlotus cares deeply about the clan and silently worries his inability to break out of the shell he built around himself may in time harm it in some way. Kindhearted despite everything, buried as it may be in his avoidance of growing too close to others once more, it's rare for him to deny anyone help if he can offer it.

Born to the leaders of a group of loners some distance from the clans, this group valued strength in battle above all else as they fought a losing battle with others for what little resources were in the area. Akar was the most promising in his litter, and spent much of the first part of his life being trained to fight and little else. His parents saw his strength as a means to an end to the fighting they endured and little else, while his siblings despised him for being the 'favorite' - leaving him mostly in isolation when he wasn't training. During training he was quick to realize that his mind was sharper than even his parents. He saw every flaw in in each poorly executed move they taught him, in every plan they laid, and he realized that he hated the idea of this life of nothing but desperate fighting. Even more so as he realized that his parents would not listen to him, how they denied any changes he offered to their plans to minimize danger and protect themselves better - as they refused to acknowledge him as anything more than brute strength. He both dreamed of and feared the concept of leaving and heading into the unknown, and so he didn't. His life stagnated and he simply went through the motions.
Akar was almost twelve moons old when one of their plans, which he had fought furiously to change, ended in most of their group either being wiped out entirely or captured, what few remained alive and free scattering to the sands. In time he came across Sunclan's territory, and speaking tentatively to the scouts for a half moon or so found him drawn to their ways of life. This led to him joining them as a servant, a poor role by all accounts but he was happier there than he had been in his life.

It was about a moon later - he was still known as Akar even - when there was a small scale attack on the camp, desperate foxes hoping for a lucky break and relief from starvation. Instinctively, and reminded of what had happened to his family not so long ago, Akar stepped up and took charge of the servants. He managed to direct them to lure the foxes away from the more populated areas of camp and into an area where the guards and fighters could more easily handle them - actions which drew attention from those in roles far above his own.
It was this event showing his intelligence and potential that lead to him being risen to the role of scribe's apprentice - and which granted him the name 'Foxpaw', and later 'Foxfire' when he showed that he'd learned his role's skills well. He's yet to regret his choice to join the clan, though he is hesitant with the unknown and prone to overthinking. He struggles with split second decisions, and often needs time to make choices - finding himself lost in situations that require spontaneity.
