history: Swanflower was born and raised in AshClan. Her kithood and apprenticeship passed in a fairly normal fashion. Not even a moon after receiving her warrior name though she moved to the nursery after announcing she was expecting kits. The father was a tom named Tigerheart who was a new warrior just like her. The two had been apprentice crushes and were now mates. Only days before her kits were born Tigerheart lost his battle with greencough and died. Later on she fell for another tom, Lionstripe. Shortly after announcing she was expecting his kits he fell victim to a fox attack. This patter reoccurred multiple times. Swanflower would find a mate, often end up expecting his kits, and then something would happen to them. She even went so far as to try finding mates outside the clan to see if somehow that would help but they too did not work out. She now believes she is cursed to spend the rest of her life alone.

Dawnleaf is a solitary young tom who seems to prefer the company of his beloved herbs over any cat. This is not entirely true, but to others it usually seems so.

He normally cares very deeply for anyone under his care, almost as a mother would care for her kits. For this reason, he hates having strangers in or around his den unless absolutely necessary. Just as a queen would feel uncomfortable letting a stranger in the nursery with her newborn kits.

If someone goes against his orders, such as leaving the medicine cat den when he orders them not to, he will become very upset with said cat and may outright refuse to help them any more since he assumes they must not want to get better if they are ignoring a medicine cat's orders.

Dawnleaf is very meticulous when it comes to his herbs and surroundings. Everything in his den has to be neat, tidy, and in its correct place or else he will be very uncomfortable to say the least. Because of this, he prefers to work alone. The idea of seeking out an apprentice is something he does at all look forward too. Plus, he feels he is much too young to need one right now. If he does have an apprentice, it will be because the leader made him take one and not because he chose a cat himself.

He has quite the talent with herbs and healing in general. He is constantly seeking out new information about these subjects and rarely forgets what he has learned.

Dawnleaf hates having a crowded den especially while he is trying to work. He will often send families, friends, and mates of an injured cat out of the den while he is working and only permit them to visit after he has bandaged up the wounded individual. Crowds, cats looming over him as he words, constant chatter, and various other things have been known to overwhelm him.

He has been known to throw 'tantrums' before. If he gets too frustrated with something or otherwise overwhelmed he could have a meltdown. Something that, for him, manifests itself with a lot of screaming, crying, and even physically lashing out at anyone who tries to touch him. These were much more common during his kit and apprentice days and he has since learned how to better predict when one is coming on so now he will try to leave a situation and avoid contact with all others for a short while as he cools down.

Facial expressions and influxes or tone would betray emotions to others don't come naturally to him. He has to force himself to appear or sound happy, sad, concerned, and various other emotions for the sake of others. It is not that he doesn't feel these emotions, because he truly does, he simply doesn't convey them to others very well.

Despite his solitary nature and poor communication skills, Dawnleaf isn't completely adverse to the idea of friendship. He simply assumes that no cat would be able to put up with him and everyone will only ever see him as 'the medicine cat' and never bother developing any sort of personal relationship with him. He has accepted that his life will likely be a lonely one but so long as he is able to continue doing what he loves, healing others, he won't complain.

brief history: Born in the clan to a former kittypet mother who joined the clan to try and give her kits a better life. She died just after giving birth and Dawnleaf was the only out of the litter of five who wasn't stillborn. He grew up without any real family to speak of and showed an early interest in becoming a medicine cat rather than a warrior. His mentor was an elderly, crabby she-cat who he never had much fondness for because of her bitter attitude towards everything and everyone. In fact, it actually came as a bit of a relief to him when she died just a moon ago.
