You run your fingers through his soft tuft of fur that tickles your nose as you press it behind his ear breathing in the scent of dust bunnies and milk. Then all of a sudden, the puppy's head jerks up and brings a swift nip to the chin. Aghast and angry you toss the pup back into the box. You leave, not even caring to spare the pup by finding him a new home or a sliver of hamburger meat. Forgotten and alone the pup whimpers. Days pass, people toss bits of food into the box and some even stop to pick up the pup. Nip. Nip. The cycle repeats itself and yet the puppy is still awaiting for your return.
