'Lona here was born into a pack quite different from this one. The Roseblood Pack, as it was called, believed that it was the job of the males to do the hunting, fighting, and decision making for the pack. The females, on the other hand, were to raise pups, keep the peace, and occasionally heal. This was their proud and regal way that had been put into practice ever since the pack's creation some thirty generations ago, and despite the occasional outburst or complaint, most of the members were perfectly content to live their lives that way. Well, not Bellona. Born to the Lead Fighter and his mate with the name Bella, she was the only surviving pup in her litter, and a rather puny one at that, so from her very first breath of air, she was pampered and showered with affection in hopes that it would keep her strong. She grew up into a lovely young lady (thus earning her name), well versed in the mannerisms and traditions of a female in the Roseblood Pack. Because of her well-respected lineage, she was even promised the title of the future Alpha Male's mate once they were old enough. However, one thing no one counted on was how, ah... "special" Bella was. It was not the love nor care recieved from her parents that kept her going, but rather the fighting spirit she, unbeknownst to the rest of the pack, inheritied from her father. Though she went along with all of that silly "proper lady" stuff, she secretly yearned to join the boys in learning how to fight and hunt. She wasn't anywhere near as ladylike as her parents thought she was, and the only reason she pretended to be was to amuse them. She'd put up with the act for as long as she had to to make them happy, but when her moment came to rise up and become the fighter she really wanted to be, she'd reveal her true nature to them. In her mind, being as young as she was, it wasn't a pack law that females weren't allowed to fight or hunt; it was simply a choice that a majority of them had made for whatever reason. When she was told pf her future role in the pack as the Alpha's mate however, the veil was lifted and it suddenly became clear that she would get no say in the matter; that her path in life had already been chosen and she would not be allowed to step off of it. Anger and dread rippled through the female's body, for at this point, she was almost two years old i.e. old enough to have a mate. The day her "freedom" would be snatched from her was coming up quickly, almost as if time had passed her by. It infuriated her to know that she couldn't choose her own destiny; it infuriated her so much that she stopped faking her ladylike facade, marched straight into the middle of camp one day, and summoned the Alpha himself- the father of the wolf she was supposed to marry. When the Alpha arrived, she told him what she thought of his ridiculous gender roles and demanded she be made a fighter. This sudden revealation was so shocking that every available wolf at camp came to investoagte the commotion, including Bella's father, who told her to stop her nonsense at once. The female clearly didn't listen, for she continued to stubornly stand her ground and claimed she'd even fight to prove herself, which was foolish, considering she had no training whatsoever. In the end, the irritated Alpha gave into her demands and offered her a challenge. He would fight her himself, and if she won, she could have the honor of becoming the first female fighter the Roseblood Pack had ever seen. If she lost, however, she would be branded with a scar to mark her treachery and banished from the pack for good. Though it hardly seemed fair, it was her only chance, so she accepted. Considering where she is now, you can guess the outcome. She clearly lost and was given a scar over her right eye, then banished from the pack, sent adrift from the only home she'd ever known. Her parents were a mix between ashamed and mournful, but there was nothing they could do. Bella left, renaming herself Bellona - which means "war" - and had wandered around the loner lands for quite some time before discovering this pack. Coming here seemed like a chance to start anew; to live the life she wanted. Now, she is a proud fighter, and wouldn't be caught dead following the orders of a male unless it was the Beta of Lead Fighter.
