history: Ada moved with her brother to a more southern climate and not long ago were accepted into a local group. The cold northern region was becoming too much for her brother; hard on his joints after years of training and fighting and the snow made it hard for him to get around on a crutch; one of his legs is a stump just below the knee. She does her best to take care of him as his nerve to fight and will to have any sort of happiness is completely shot. Her aunt started teaching her to be a nurse when she was a teenager, and it was the reason this new band agreed to let them join, as her brother isn't exactly a valuable asset to have around. His mild paranoia, nightmares, battle wounds, and lack of interest in life or happiness mean that he mostly keeps to himself aside from Ada and an older man in the band seems to understand and accept the young man.

Her great-grandmother was a survivor of the plague, a girl of just eleven when it happened who had moved as a child to Canada from France. Ada heard stories of the woman through her aunt, who had also passed on her great-grandmother's fear that survivors might one day be studied to understand how they were not afflicted by the illness that wiped nearly everyone else out. Her great-grandmother had always been convinced that surely governments had safely hidden away some people in bunkers or secret places while the common man suffered and died. Ada's aunt didn't really believe it as the mentality of many survivors was that they must have superior genes and had become a more elite human race.

With so much of the population decimated, survivors fled to the wilderness as the cities were littered with bodies and debris from that time of sickness and chaos. Electricity became a thing of the past and even batteries soon ran out or corroded. Books were valuable resources depending on the subject, but impeded mobility so many saw them as foolish to keep. Bands of people stuck together and fought with other tribes, over resources, grievances, water, and sometimes seemingly for nothing at all, but many did still manage to live fairly peacefully.

Recently there was a rumor that the bunker theory might be true, and Ada has kept her mouth shut but is internally very curious.

Dallas is what you might call a player, or at least that's his attitude. He doesn't like getting too attached with really anyone, what's the point anyway? Everyone's only got a little while left if they're lucky. He only gets away with being a jerk because of his appearance. He knows a thing or two about how to stitch someone up, mainly because he's had to do it to himself plenty of times. He was born in this world, and he knows how to survive in it. His main weapon is the machete, but he also has an axe from one of those emergency fire box thingies. His greatest strength is strength in general, he's not stupid but...he tends to act like it. He's street smart, just don't make him do math. He was never really taught such things aside from simple stuff. As far as guns go he learned on the job, he's now a decent shot even at a distance...with most any gun available. He is pretty much an open book as far as his personality, but his history is something best left out of any questions you may have.

She is a cunning individual and more manipul
ative than she would care to admit. There is
rarely a situation that she can't escape from
or talk her way out of. This, however, means
that she is not as good at making friends as
other people, for she can be a bit too intense
or even snarky. Once she is your friend though,
she is remarkably caring and kind, though he
r displays of affection involve mild punches on
the shoulder, name-calling and witty banters.
