halfmoon has a rather unique appearance, which garners her quite a bit of unwanted attention. she has a long, sleek chocolate tortoiseshell patched coat. the base of her coat is white, with dark brown patches that have lighter brown and cream dapples. her face is the part that got her her name, as she is a chimera. half of her face is cream and light brown dapples, the other is a solid dark brown. her eyes are a striking pale blue. she has a rather long tail and legs, giving her good balance and agility. halfmoon is rather small in stature, and not a good hunter or fighter. she's also half-blind, with a large scar running over her left eye and making it a milky, white-blue.
personality
halfmoon is quiet and rather logical on the outside. on a day to day basis, she spends most of her time gathering herbs. she enjoys being outside, and thus, is out of her den as frequently as possible, unless training an apprentice or tending to medical needs. to most others who don't know her beyond surface level, halfmoon is aloof and indifferent to most things. she doesn't enjoy letting on that she cares about something or someone, and tends to stay away from situations that bring her emotions into play. she comes off as confident in her work, and always seems to think five steps ahead.
underneath the surface, she's actually extremely caring and emotional. very few get to see this side of her, and she does that to protect herself. she's intensely emotionally invested in her career as a medicine cat, and underneath her confident and calculated appearance, she's her own biggest critic. she's very hard on herself to avoid making the same mistakes again, as her mentor before her was quite harsh on her. she adapted to become very aware of her surroundings, and her senses are sharp.
halfmoon struggles with her pride and stubbornness. she hates being wrong and can't stand admitting to it. thus, she absorbs as much information as she can so she can always try and be right, even though she knows deep down that's impossible. to the wrong cat, she could be described as a narcissistic, cold piece of fox-dung, but to those who know her, she's a gem and will do anything for those she cares about. she's fiercely loyal both to her loved ones and to her clan, which is one of the reasons she takes her position so seriously.
one could also say that she throws herself into her work to avoid her emotions, which is very true. halfmoon avoids emotions whenever possible, as they've had her wound up in troubles in the past. she's keen on avoidance at all costs, even if it means she overworks herself into a stressed out frenzy.
history
from the start, halfmoon was surrounded by pressure. she was the only surviving kit of her litter, her mother was always extremely protective and hard on her. her father was a deputy, and never spent much time with her, always too busy with his duties.
her mother wanted the best from her, but was always very overbearing about it. she was always extremely vocal about her desire for her daughter to become a warrior, then someday a deputy, and eventually, a leader: just like her father. halfmoon never wanted this for herself. she was always a pacifist, and the idea of battle training didn't seem like a good idea for her at any point in her life. still, her mother pushed her, so she continued.
her mentor saw promise in her early, and would frequently talk to her about his interest in having her as an apprentice. she was also interested, as she believed she would thrive the most in the clan as a medicine cat, but she knew her mother would be disappointed. for the first two moons of her apprenticeship, she trained to become a warrior. and she hated every minute of it. the fighting overwhelmed her, she struggled to stay focused while hunting, and it was clear that she wasn't physically built for it.
she got her scar in a training accident, a little gift from her mentor, who forgot to sheathe her claws during the lesson. after that, halfpaw went to jaywhisker, the medicine cat, and begged him to take her as an apprentice. after talking to the leader, it was decided, and she immediately began training.
her mother was extremely disappointed, and stopped talking to her altogether. her father didn't seem to care, which did't bother her, since they didn't have much of a relationship to begin with. her mother, however, hurt her to the core and ultimately shaped her emotional issues.
halfpaw eventually became halfmoon, after a lot of harsh training from jaywhisker. he explained later that he was hard on her because he wanted her to be the best, and finally felt as if he had trained an apprentice worthy of taking his position when he retired. as he aged, she began taking over most of his duties, and he eventually retired to the elder's den when his vision began failing due to old age.
halfmoon's father ended up dying before he could ever fulfill his dream of becoming the leader of roseclan. he was involved in an incident where a fox was spotted on patrol, and began cornering his apprentice. while she thought badly on herself for not feeling as emotional as she should, halfmoon wasn't very affected by her father's death. her mother, however, went a bit crazy and was retired early after being unable to function because of her grief.

waspwing is a rather intimidating cat upon appearance. he's tall, with sleek, medium-length dark red fur. his tail and forehead are darker, as standard for his breed, which is somali. he has forest green eyes and significant scarring covering a lot of his body from an incident when he was an apprentice. waspwing is very strong, with impressive muscular form underneath all that fur. he's a bit of a ladies man, and has a rather charming appearance, which he uses to his advantage whenever he can.
personality
if waspwing could be described in one word, it would be fiery. he's sharp and calculating, but quite sensitive underneath his appearance. he comes off as confident and quite cocky to mask his inner insecurities, and doesn't let anyone get close enough to see that it's all a ruse. he's a huge flirt and very charming, and knows his strong points when it comes to that.
typically, waspwing comes off as a typical definition of masculinity. he loves all things fighting and battle, and can sometimes mess up when he gets too cocky. he overestimates himself rather often and is a lot more clumsy and emotionally aloof than most cats really understand. he's extremely stubborn and will argue for hours if he's given the chance. waspwing adores banter and a chance to prove himself right.
history
waspwing grew up with the perfect family. a doting mother, present father, and playful brother. he never worried about much growing up. he had his eyes set on his goal- to become the best warrior he could be. for most of his kithood, things were simple. there would be minor family drama with his mother's sister, a molly named littlefeather, who was jealous of her sibling for being able to have kits.
his brother, mottlekit, was the runt of their litter and always chasing him around. the two would get into frequent trouble around camp, stirring things up whenever possible. messing up the herb storage in the medicine den, playing pranks on the elders, stealing little bits of food from the fresh kill pile as a game, trying to see how much they could move before a warrior caught them. they had loads of fun together, but things changed when they became apprentices.
mottlepaw became jealous of wasppaw, who was doing significantly better than him in training. sibling competition turned into a full blown family feud, and their relationship took a turn for the worse when their father died in the same border patrol fox incident that killed the clan's deputy at the time, stormwing. their mother became more distant, stricken with grief, and for the first time in wasppaw's life, things weren't perfect.
things got better for a while. wasppaw became waspwing, and mottlepaw became mottlemouth. they were finally warriors, though the competition never seemed to end. it was always a challenge of who could lead the border patrol better, who could catch more prey, who could jump the nearby gorge walls better. waspwing never grew tired of the juvenile games, but he grew more distracted as he matured. he became less interested in playing games with mottlemouth and more interested in flirting with the mollies in the clan.
eventually, he caught his mother spending more and more time with a tom named eagleperch, who had been mottlemouth's mentor. at first, it seemed fine, but waspwing began to grow suspicious after a moon passed and the two were seen walking outside of camp on a nearly daily basis. he began following them in secret, spying on his mother's rendezvous, and found out that the two were romantic towards each other. this enraged him. his father hadn't been dead for a full cycle of seasons before his mother had already moved on.
shortly after he caught them, he confronted sorrelflower about what he had seen, and she admitted to everything. she wanted to move on from the tragedy of losing flamepool, and believed she deserved a second chance at love. waspwing, caught up in his bitter ideals, snapped at her and created a heavy amount of distance in their relationship. mottlemouth didn't seem to care, and was closer to his mother than ever.
waspwing felt alienated from his family for the first time in his life. when sorrelflower and eagleperch publicly announced that they were expecting kits, it got even worse. mottlemouth was happy for his mother, and waspwing would frequently see him bringing fresh kill from a hunt into the nursery for her. the whole clan seemed to be happy for her, everyone except him, of course. he felt hurt and betrayed by this. first, sorrelflower replaced his father, and now she was replacing him.
when his siblings were born, he couldn't help but be curious. he ended up becoming less distant towards sorrelflower, although his anger never really went away. however, he immediately fell in love with his two little sisters, and became intensely protective over them. spottedkit was the runt of the litter, a dappled calico that had a striking resemblance to sorrelflower. cougarkit was the tougher one, who's markings resembled eagleperch.
as the moons went on, waspwing became more and more present in his sisters' lives, telling them stories about being a warrior and about him and mottlemouth when they were younger. he became more attached to cougarkit, and the two got very close. they grew more distant over the years, as she became an apprentice and got more busy with her life. still, he would and will always continue to watch over her, even if they don't interact as much. he helped her with her training, watched her become a warrior, and continues to keep an eye on her as she grows.

personality
cougarsong could be described in one word: intense. she loves attention, gossip, and drama, but is a lot deeper under the surface than she lets on. most know her for being a flirtatious, social butterfly, but she gets a lot more genuine underneath her shell of confidence.
below the tip of the iceberg, cougarsong deals with a lot of intense emotions. she has harsh reactions to everyday things and frequent mood swings. her mental health isn't always the best, and everyone knows when it's not. she can be extremely hot and cold as well as indecisive. she second guesses herself a lot, but would never admit it to anyone except her conscience. cougarsong is stubborn and extremely proud. if cornered and asked about her inner demons, she'll tell you they don't exist.
she tries to keep her appearance as prim and proper as she can. she doesn't like anyone seeing anything underneath the carefully calculated shell she's created around it. she suffers from bipolar disorder, and can go from cheerful to stone cold in a few minutes. cougarsong does her best to avoid anyone seeing the intensity of it, as she's realized she can't hide the obviousness of her mental health issues because of how deeply they affect her.
history
cougarsong was born into the second litter of sorrelflower, the first of eagleperch. she grew up hearing about her older brothers, with them always around her. her sister, spottedkit, was always the more shy one who stuck to the rules no matter what, while she was the troublemaker who would always try to push her into having fun.
her relationship with her sister wasn't nearly as close as her relationship with her half-brother, who taught her a lot more than her mother did. sorrelflower tended to try and shelter her and spottedkit, while waspwing edged her to live more on the wild side and do what she wanted. her father, eagleperch, was never really close with waspwing, but he was with his brother, mottlemouth. it was clear from the start that mottlemouth and spottedkit were two of a kind, and she and waspwing were as well.
she didn't have the best relationship with her father, spottedkit was his favorite. she often told herself that applied with her mother as well. spottedkit was never in trouble, always helping out around the clan and getting praise from every corner of camp. everyone thought she was always the sweetest little darling and cougarkit had to learn to stop caring so much about what people thought of her versus her sister. it was difficult, as she's prone to insecurity and comparing herself, but she got better at hiding it over time.
the two became apprentices, and had wildly different goals. spottedpaw wanted to become a mother as quickly as she could. she adored kits and wanted a family of her own, while cougarpaw had her eyes set on becoming a warrior and a social butterfly. she wanted to steal spottedpaw's thunder as the clan's sweetheart, and she got her way. while spottedpaw took her training more seriously and spent the majority of her time helping out and bringing freshkill to the nursery, cougarpaw made as many friends and connections as she could. she would flirt ruthlessly, sweet talk constantly, and charm anyone who came her way. it became natural to her. she quickly rose up in the social ranking of roseclan, and spottedpaw became less and less talked about.
what bothered her is that her sister didn't care. she wasn't in it for popularity or validation, like cougarpaw always was. still, cougarpaw persisted. she fell behind in training, eventually catching up after a harsh talk with her mentor, brackenridge, who was an older tom with a no-nonsense policy when it came to training. he was very hard on her, which only made her more insecure, and resulted in her acting out more often and becoming increasingly pompous.
eventually, spottedpaw became spottedskies. cougarpaw became a warrior a moon later because she'd fallen behind so much due to her lack of focus, and she earned the name cougarsong. even though her sister is no longer a threat, she still feels like she always has to keep up the act of being the social butterfly, and continues to do so despite her sister already achieving her dream of becoming a mother.

tigerflame is a rather large tom who tends to tower over most of his clanmates. he has dark brown fur with black stripes, resembling a tiger, hence his prefix. he has a white muzzle, chest, underbelly, and tail tip. his eyes are a striking shade of amber that look rather intense when caught in sunlight. tigerflame is built for fighting and hunting on the ground, but has horrible balance in trees and isn't the strongest runner. he has excellent muscle tone and is a formidable physical enemy or opponent.
personality
tigerflame isn't one to "look on the bright side." he's a pessimistic tom who likes to take things seriously and get the job done. he's ambitious, mysterious, and secretive: no one ever gets close. he rarely shows any kind of emotion, but has a short temper. while he can normally keep things cool and collected and remain calm, once things hit a certain point of agitation, there's no going back.
most cats think tigerflame has a heart of stone and ice, but his walls are up high. he was conditioned to be like this from his father, stonestep, who always thought emotions were useless when focused on a goal. due to his ambitions, he has a dream of becoming the clan's deputy and leader someday, and his eyes are locked hard on that goal. he's known for being ruthless, getting rid of anything in the way of what he wants. he's incredibly driven when motivated properly, otherwise, he simply doesn't care.
history
tigerflame was typically the overlooked kit in his litter of six. his mother's name is addersong, a true warrior who wasn't very interested in motherhood. his father's name was stonestep, a harsh warrior with no time to deal with parenting unless it came to scolding. tigerkit was born amongst three sisters and two brothers. his sisters were named heatherkit, wildkit, and ivykit. his brothers were named mistlekit and mousekit.
from the beginning, he wasn't thought of often. his sister, ivykit, was the runt of the litter and constantly getting sick, getting all of the attention from their parents and the rest of his siblings. he resented her from the beginning, as he rarely got to spend actual time with his family because of her consistent and chronic recurring illness, and he quickly alienated himself from the family. then there was mistlekit, the breadwinner of sorts. constantly showing off his strength to the other kits, always being the favorite of their mother.
