lawton was the oldest of five kids, the only boy expected
from the age of 5 to not only care for, but also protect his
younger sisters. both of his parents were military, his father
in the marines while his mother was in the air force. he
began martial arts at a young age, growing up in it and
allowing for his studio's philosophy to influence his life's
decisions. once he graduated high school, he tried to
follow in his father's footsteps. however, it was discovered
that he had a blood disorder which disqualified him.
