Kaden takes after his father's adventurous and brave side, finding fun in the ope
n seas and facing danger head on. he faces things with a smile, believing the wo
rst can never happen. he makes friends easy with his out-going personality and h
is smarts got him in the favor of many of the higher ups. he's practically a noble.
though there are times when his short temper gets the best of him, causing him t
o lash out without thinking. though he's genuinely kindhearted and a loyal friend

Kaden was born not too long after the relationship between his parents set sail.
he was greatly adored by his mother and basked in her attention. he had always
wanted a younger sibling until he got one. once his little brother was born, kade
n was no longer the apple of his dear mother's eye. though she treated them equ
ally, kaden always felt as if her favor was swayed more towards ace. the way sh
e smiled at him, the way she spoke, it all seemed different than how she would
to him. thus kaden grew jealous, even spiteful towards his younger brother. the
days he spent watching the two interact were unbearable, but the tales of his fa
ther and meeting him all those times was like a light in his sea of growing darkn
ess. he idoled his father, wanting nothing more than to grow up and sail by his s
ide. but as a young boy, he heeded his grandfather's warnings and feared a life o
f a criminal, dashing that dream entirely. but he still wanted to sail the oceans,
get a taste for adventure. and so he grew more active in the lessons of becomin
g a marine, studying hard, much to both his mother and Roy's pleasure. he had e
ven lost out on a few of his father's visit as he went on to study and learn. throug
hout that time he thought he was forming a bond with the brother he had grow
n up loathing, talking aimlessly about the seas and all their possible adventures a
round the world. little did he know that they were dreaming of adventures as tw
o different types of people. well, not until his brother told him of his wish to be
a pirate. at first kaden had gone to his mother, expecting her to be disappointe
d and talk some sense into him. of course he should have known it would fail fr
om the start and, once he didn't get the reaction he so desired, he turned to his
grandfather. an argument ensued between the three and only pushed his brother
on the trail of wrong. but he couldn't care, bidding his brother good riddance a
and farewell. it was the year he graduated that he learned just who ace had r
un off to join. his father, the one he himself wished to sail with. once again he
felt as if his parents had chosen the younger over him. his anger only grew to t
he point where he didn't even consider himself part of such an unfair family any
more. though he made a new family. The marines who accepted him into their
ranks, the navy who considered him with just as much equality as a newbie as a
high ranking officer, and the grandfather who took care of him after his mother
up and disappeared. but who cares. he was a new man, a happy one. and he lik
es it better this way.
