The Everglades National Park is a 1.5-million-acre wetland preserve on the southern tip of the U.S. state of Florida. Often compared to a grassy, slow-moving river, the Everglades is made up of coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of animal species. Among the Everglades' abundant wildlife, there live two clans of cats, Pineclan and Marshclan, who have adapted to the unforgiving habitat that they live in, becoming stronger and faster both on land and in the water. Pineclan is a group of stealthy hunters that live in the pine flatwoods. They are more at home on land than in the water and tend to be excellent climbers. Marshclan, on the other hand, live amongst the Sawgrass Marshes. They are lithe cats, able to chase prey quickly and silently through the tall grass, as well as through the surrounding waters. They are powerful swimmers and have webbed paws. For as long as any cat can remember, Pineclan and Marshclan have lived in the Everglades and been at relative peace with one another. Now, however, tensions are rising between the clans. Twolegs are encroaching further and further upon their the clans' territory, their loud water monsters scaring off the prey and making hunting difficult. When prey starts disappearing from both clans, accusations fly and war seems inevitable. Neither clan is aware that lurking in the shadows, a group of outsiders watches on, biding their time until they can take the Everglade Territory for themselves.

1. All CS Rules Apply.
2. This is a semi-literate roleplay. Please post a minimum of 300 words per post, 200 with writer's block. More is preferred and welcome. Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation are appreciated.
3. No cussing [outside of warrior cat curse words], explicit scenes, or gore. Keep it family friendly.
4. Cats should be unique, well-thought-out characters with diverse personalities and histories. To start, you may have one high ranking cat. Otherwise, I am not limiting the number of characters you can have. Make what you can handle.
5. Make cat names relevant to the area! Use animals/objects often found in or around the glades. Ask me if you have trouble coming up with a name. For now, I am not allowing people to use the same prefix so make sure to check before naming your cat.
6. No godmodding, powerplay, or perfect characters. Don't kill off another player's cats without permission. Don't make your cat flawless and unbeatable.
7. No being your own crush/mate, that's boring.
8. In character, drama is highly encouraged, but keep it to the roleplay. Respect your fellow roleplayers and if you need to fight, take it off my threads.
9. Post all OOC Chatter and Character Forms on the Discussion Thread! I might make a Discord if enough people are receptive to the idea.
10. Remove signatures when posting on either thread and have fun!

Pineclan are a group of brave and courageous cats who live among the pine flatwood. They are strong, sturdy cats with powerful hind legs and excellent climbing skills.

Marshclan
Marshclan are a group of sly, cunning cats who live among the sawgrass marshes. They are very stealthy and fast, and they tend to be built lighter than Pineclan cats with longer legs to allow them to race silently through the sawgrass after their prey. They have webbed paws for swimming and fishing.

A group of traveling rogues that have just recently come to the Everglades. They are aggressive and mean and often fight violently amongst themselves. Their leader is always changing, always the strongest and meanest cat in the group. They do not believe in Starclan

Territory

The clans kind of live near the center of the Everglade National Park, further away from the touch of Twolegs, though recent activity has brought the twolegs even further into their territory. Pineclan makes its home in the flatwood pine forest, a large expanse of trees that are tall and spindly and tend to be set far apart. The trees typically have few branches and the ones they do have tend to be further up, so they have to be superb climbers. The undergrowth is thick and provides shade from the heat of the sun, as well as the cover to stalk their prey without being spotted. The Pineclan Camp is located in the heart of the territory as the base of a deep ravine. The hollow is surrounded on two sides by a sheer, rocky cliff and the rest is surrounded by thick bramble bushes that the cats wove into a nearly impenetrable barrier between them and any predators. The center of the camp is a flat clearing with a rocky outcrop called High Rock at its center where clan meetings are held. A small cave beneath the rocky outcrop is the leader's den. The rest of the dens edge the camp and are made of brambles woven tightly together and secured to the camp walls. The warrior's den is the largest and the closest to the camp entrance. Besides that, a slightly smaller den makes up the Apprentice den. Next, we have the Medicine Cat Den, and furthest from the camp entrance is the Nursery and Elders Den. They are the most reinforced of the dens. Marshclan makes its home in the Sawgrass Marsh, where they spend their days chasing prey through the tall grass or in the shallow waters. Their paws are almost constantly in the water and they have long since adapted to their home by developing webbed feet. They are extremely powerful swimmers and fast and agile runners. They have superb stamina and are built to cover long distances in short amounts of time. While most of their territory is made up of the watery marshes, there are several Coastal Mangroves around, one of which is where Marshclan makes their camp. While Marshclan cats aren't strong climbers, the trees are small and sturdy enough for them to climb and the thick canopy provides great shelter from the elements. The center of their camp is a flat, tight network of roots that provide solid ground for them to walk on, without allowing small kits and apprentices to fall into the water below. A particularly big root in the center of the camp is where clan meetings are held. Dens are hollows within the trees around camp. From the camp entrance, the largest hollow holds the warrior's den, followed by the Apprentice Den, the Leader's den, the Medicine Cat's den, the Nursery, and the Elders den. Last but not least, the Outsiders are currently residing at the edge of Marshclan and Pineclan Territory in a similar Coastal Mangrove, though theirs is much smaller. Their hunting grounds aren't very spacious and so they often sneak into Clan Territory and steal prey from both clans.
