Two groups of felines, once one, have found their
way through the valley, and into the terrirory around its lake.
These cats came from two places, either the original tribe, who
lost their territory to twolegs and were forced to travel, or from
forests and twolegplaces that the tribe traveled through on their
way to their new home. The tribe's leader and deputy both having
passed before the reaching of their new terrain, the cats were left
to both find camp and govern themselves. The discussion went as
well as any with cats from different backgrounds and with different
opinions. Two leaders rose up in the midst of it. One, the chosen
leader of CreekClan, taking mostly cats from the original tribe, who
wished to continue their way of life. They now live north of the
lake, in watery moors. The other leader, that of what is now
ShadeClan, took mostly rougues loners and kittypets, and claimed
the terrirory south of the lake into thin and foggy forests. And that
is where we are now; tensions still high from the break-up, no true
place to visit starclan, and their first gathering not too far away.

Otherwise, take it to the discussion thread or use private messaging. I don't mind creating a discord server if we'd all like to chat, but I would like to keep this threat organized and clean c:
↣ Be kind and respectful to your fellow roleplayers. If you have an argument, private message that person. I will not let this thread, or any linking threads, get taken down because of foul behavior.
↣ Realistic animals only, with no "powers". They may have markings and accessories, but they must have been gained in a realistic way. For example, a feather or two could have been stuck in your animal's fur from a bird they caught and killed. Simple markings could have been gained from the animal getting into some human paint.
↣ No "OP" characters or "Power Playing". I think we all know how that works.
↣ At least 4-7 sentences per post. Writer's block is understood, but shouldn't be the excuse for every post you make. If there is a battle, a conversation between multiple characters, etc., of coarse I understand.
↣ Please try to post once a week, even if it's just stopping by the discussion thread and leaving a comment. I understand not getting to be that active on here with class and hw (I've started school back up too c':) but it helps to know if you're still here in the roleplay. I'm sure we all know someone who's just dropped out without saying. If you need to be gone for a while, just let us know! We understand.
↣ PM the owner or post on the discussion thread if you plan to quit/become inactive, please. If you are inactive (not roleplaying or saying anything in the discussion) for longer than a month without notice (You will be PMed after 2-3 weeks first), your characters will be removed.
↣ Remove/detach signatures from your roleplay posts. It organizes the roleplay more, and helps slower computers or phones not lag so much.
↣ Include a proper heading with each post, even on mobile. Doesn't have to be fancy at all, just needs to atleast include your character's name, rank, clan, gender/pronouns, and tagged characters. This can go above, beside, or below your post.
↣ You are allowed 4 characters to start off with. There are as of now 27 character slots per clan, and 11 others. Since we have these limited slots, it's be nice to give everyone a chance to snatch one before they're taken.
↣ Try not to be your own mate/crush. Nothin much to add to that.
↣ No seriously injuring/killing another character without the character owner's permission. Is there a battle and you have someone to fight? Shoot them a pm first.

CreekClan lives around and behind a short waterfall not too far from their northern border. The nursery, apprentice den, and Medicine cat den are located in small caves behind the water. Others sleep in the open or under ledges. Clan meetings are held under a large boulder on the right side of camp. Kits are not allowed outside, and apprentices go in pairs or with a warrior.
ＣＲＥＥＫＣＬＡＮ ＴＥＲＲＩＴＯＲＹ (right)
CreekClan's territory is made up of rocky fields and, well creeks, with few bushes and trees. They hunt fish, rabbits, and birds with the occasional mouse or vole. It's northern border extends just beyond the camp, and southern border touching the lake. The west border ends at a river that runs down to the lake, and the east border ends just before the fields turn into foothills.

ＳＨＡＤＥＣＬＡＮ ＣＡＭＰ (left)
ShadeClan's cats live inside a small expanse of temple ruins in the heart of their territory. The medicine cat den, nursery, and leader's den are all made out of small "rooms" inside. Warriors sleep around the three entrances, apprentices not too far away. All cats are free to leave camp whenever, but kits are normally supervised.
ＳＨＡＤＥＣＬＡＮ ＴＥＲＲＩＴＯＲＹ (right)
ShadeClan's territory is mostly made up of misty forestry, with ruins here and there. They hunt most mammals, frogs, lizards, and birds. Their northern border ends in marshy flats at the lake edge, and southern border extending through a birch forest. Their west border also ends at a river, downstream of the lake, and their eastern border ends at a steep but short drop-off that leads to denser forest and then the twolegplace.

ＬＡＫＥ ＩＳＬＡＮＤ (left)
Every full moon the cats of the clans (or apprentices+ for CreekClan) agreed to meet on the island come nightfall, either by the stepping stones or swimming. The leaders sit atop the rock to speak about news and discuss things, deputies at the base. This full moon will be their first meeting.

This cave resides north of the lake, a quarter-day's walk away from CreekClan. The surrounding area is made up of jagged cliffs, and the cave itself is a little ways above ground. It can be found by following the trickle of water coming out of the cave from the pool inside. The medicine cats and apprentices must wait for the moon to reach the small hole in the roof, illuminating the water so that they can lay down and touch noses with it.

FAQ & Misunderstandings

When exactly is this roleplay placed in the plot?
- A few weeks from the two groups splitting up. The current leaders of the clans were just assigned, as well as their deputies chosen. Any cats from outside the clans will have just learned of their arrival, or have no idea they exist yet. They have not found a place to visit starclan willingly (like the moonstone & moonpool in the series), nor have they had a gathering yet. They decided that they will meet up every moon on the island, but that is all.

You said rouges, loners, and kittypets joined along the way. So do they keep their prior names?
- That is your choice. If your cat joined CreekClan, chances are they took on a warrior name at some-point during the journey to show they were really one with the group, since the majority of CreekClan cats were from that group. If your cat joined ShadeClan, chances are they could swing either way.

How long was the journey? How old should my cat be if they were from the original group?
- No newborns from the original group would have survived (maybe left behind with their parents), and the current apprentices and kits would most likely either have been born or found during the trip to their new home. This leaves warriors+ (of 20+ moons) to possibly be from the group. When bringing it down to the numbers, the journey took about 12 moons (a full year). Your average apprentice at that time (let's say 9 moons) would now be about 21 moons old. Average warrior (let's say 25 moons) would now probably be 37 moons old.

Are there any cats from the original group in ShadeClan, or any rougues/loners/kittypets in CreekClan?
- If anyone makes characters in those clans with those histories, then yes. CreekClan is not limited to only group cats, and ShadeClan is not limited to non-group cats. There are just more of one type than the other, since one clan behaves more "Clan-like" than the other.

Can you elaborate more on how ShadeClan behaves in contrast to CreekClan/a normal Clan?
They Both:
- Have ranks such as leader, deputy, warrior, med. cat, etc.
- Hold warrior and apprentice ceremonies.
- Keep watch of kits.
- Know of the warrior code.
- Will go to gatherings and (if a med. cat or apprentice) half-moon meetings when they can.

ShadeClan:
- Allows apprentices to come and go freely.
- Allows kits out of camp, but still prefers to supervise them in some way.
- Cats choose whether to put faith in StarClan or not.
- Cats can keep their past names.
- Is much more accepting towards rougues, loners, and kittypets joining their group in the future.
- Cats can choose how much they commit to the warrior code.

What classifies as an "event"? How much drama can I cause on my own?
- Any affair that would greatly affect the roleplay permanently or for an extended period of time. Expanding on this, finding the moonlit cave would be an event because medicine cats would then on be able to willingly contact StarClan. A forest fire in ShadeClan's camp would be an event because ShadeClan would have to either relocate or rebuild which would take a decent amount of time. A chemical that poison's CreekClan's water would be an event as CreekClan would lose it's major source of water and food, as well as the lake having a chance of being contaminated as well.
What doesn't? Fighting between cats, fighting between clans, introducing a group of predator animals to deal with, twolegs taking out a portion of territory, clan-wide disputes, sicknesses, discovering a cave or tunnel that collapses, etc. Of coarse if you are unsure, please just swing me by a PM.

Why would cats even want to stay with CreekClan when ShadeClan has a lot more freedom and isn't as "by-the-rules" as CreekClan is? What argument do CreekClan members even have?
- Although some cats may have just gone into the clan by relishing the way the old group was or by following family and friends, CreekClan does have a decent argument to hold against ShadeClan's abundance of choice and freedom.
1. CreekClan is safer. Although having more freedom can be good, it can also be dangerous. For example, a young cat who must be supervised or stay in one place is a lot less likely to get injured than one who is given free roam. Since CreekClan cats must follow the warrior code, there is also the benefit of the laws that "elders queens and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors", "no warrior can neglect a kit in danger", and "an honorable warrior does not need to kill cats to win their battles".
2. CreekClan is easier to lead and therefor keep together. Looking at the warrior code, we see the line "the leader's word is the warrior code". CreekClan cats must abide by this and therefor are less likely to question the leader with as much confidence as another.
3. CreekClan cats are less likely to get new sicknesses. Even though it's rude of the clan to stray towards denying outside cats, this does allow them to have a lot less likely off a chance to get sicknesses these new cats may be carriers of.
4. Disputes within the clan can be solved more easily with words than claws. For example, an apprentice wouldn't argue with an elder over who should be able to eat first since it is clearly stated in the warrior code.
