"welcome to the empty city. it is the place that many call the city of death, but do
not fear. you can make a decent living here, if you're smart enough. in this city of
wreckage you may find many like yourself, abandoned and alone. they too have no
real place to call home, as their old ones were destroyed, just like everyone else. o
f course, this place isn't an easy place to conquer. there is little food and even less
water, disease is quite common among us all, and finding a safe place to sleep at n
ight can prove to be difficult. our water is poisoned by black liquid that seeps from
broken machines, the food that we manage to find is old and stale or wild, and she
lter is found beneath the torn buildings left behind by the big growl. life isn't easy
out here without your precious longpaws. they are no longer here for you. they aba
ndoned you along with the others, to starve and die in your panic to survive. they k
new what would become of you all, yet they still left you. how pathetic and embar
rassing you all must feel... and now you must care for yourselves. your days will be
spent searching for anything that could deliver you on to the next day. it will be a
tedious life for all of you mutts indeed, and remember to have your wits about you."

"oh yes, but what about me?" the great brute lifted his head high, revealing his yellow
stained teeth inside his mighty and powerful jaws. the much larger creature leaned i
n closer, piercing amber eyes staring straight at you in the darkness. "I am the alpha o
f the lost pack. the strongest pack that there ever was, and the only one to survive.
now, the real question is... will you choose to die out here alone or live amongst us?"

one. follow all of the basic rules of cs, please. two. this is probably one of the mo
st important rules on here, be active! I expect at least a post every two or so days.
three. pm me all reservations, especially for high ranks so that I can tell you if any
thing is planned for that rank. only one high rank per person. four. you must post
all forms and ooc on the discussion thread. five. all characters must be realistic,
they are all normal stray dogs so they may have injuries. no serious injuries, though.
they wouldn't have survived this long if they did. six. I will only accept hetero dogs.
this is because I want it to be realistic. seven. this is semi-lit! I expect a long parag
raph at the least. also, disable your signatures when posting on either thread. eight.
keep the discussion thread talk related to the role-play. it's fine to talk a bit here a
nd there, but remember I do not want this locked! nine. you will be allowed to have
three dogs at the max, but please remember to keep genders even! ten. the alpha w
ill be the only wolf hybrid, no exceptions. sorry! eleven. when naming your dog, try
to base it on where they came from. if they were always a stray, names like 'princess'
wouldn't be logical. they would more likely be named 'lucky' or something of the sort.
twelve. include everyone in the role-play. if your dog is open and someone else's is,
interact with them! that's what we are here for, after all. thirteen. when posting,
have a font size 75-85, be aware of the setting, make it pretty, and type your best!
fourteen. please also make your forms pretty, it shows that you put effort forward!
fifteen. have relationships develop over time, you can have set up crushes and such
but keep it realistic! drama is encouraged, and in this setting it wont be hard to find.
just pm me for anything too drastic. sixteen. lastly, please enjoy the role-play! <3

[ "the empty city" ] [ territory ]

ever since the big growl shook the earth and drove all the longpaws away from
the city, things have been mostly quiet in the city besides the occasional settle
ng of a building and it crashing to the earth's surface. the city is a ghost town,
everything is how it was left after the big growl. buildings are destroyed, vehic
les lie scattered around the streets, and the only life that lives here are animal
s. their are often houses or vehicles left open, a key place to search for food an
d shelter, but be careful because buildings could come crashing down at any mo
ment in time. outside the city limits lies a wide flowing river that has stepping s
tones across the middle. in the quake, however, the river became poisoned and
is now highly toxic to animals of all kinds. do not drink from here, or eat anythin
g that has. behind the river lies a large green meadow where many rabbits and o
ther small game reside, but they're fast! the meadow does not serve as any sourc
e of shelter. through the meadows lie hills that house a decent amount of trees.
this is a normal place for a stray to rest before continuing on their way. they mu
st continue because this is a piece of pack territory. the trees surround a mediu
m sized lake that belongs to the lost pack. it is heavily guarded by patrol dogs a
nd is very difficult to get to. after all, no dog knows when all the water will be g
one, or ruined. the pack's territory spans a good section of land covered in trees
and grass, though is slowly becoming invaded by the poisonous leftovers of the b
ig growl. the pack's territory is flanked by the territory of a smaller, yet scarier g
roup known as the killers. this terrifying group lives in a large building that used
to belong to the longpaws. the killers are pure-bred german shepherd dogs who w
ere trained to fight and kill anything that strayed onto their land, like very well t
rained guard dogs. their territory is fenced in, but the real prize is inside the buil
ding. rumor says that the large dogs have a never ending supply of food located i
n the building, which is just tempting enough for a starving stray dog to take thei
r chances of being killed. the rumor says no dog has been known to ever return.

right now it is in the middle of august. the temperature is hot, so everyone is
looking for a drink and a cool place to rest. the amount of food available is sm
all and the amount of clean water to drink is decent. it is nearly two weeks
ter the earthquake hit the city, and still their are no humans to be found. old
pets are finding it hard to cope being without their caretakers. the killer group
has not been heard from in nearly a week, and the dogs suspect that they too
are having a hard time dealing without their longpaws. the pack has recently d
iscovered that their water outside of the lake has been being touched, and the
y blame the traveling strays for getting their pack members sick with their filth
y paws. the alpha of the pack is very stressed and angry, resulting in the pack b
eing on edge as well. there are rumors of a big storm heading towards the city,
which frightens the strays and even pack members because they are afraid that
it will be another storm like the big growl was and that it will turn their lives up
side down once more. tensions are high with all dogs, so be careful to approach.

xxxgender. brute x age. seven years x rank. alpha x tagged. open.

words could not express the amount of anger that coursed through the young male's body as he stared at his attackers. they were a larger group of brutes, probably standing a good few inches above him in height and bigger body build to go along with their greater strength. they chanted and jeered, laughing uncontrollably with each other while looking down on the other pup with judging eyes. "ah you poor thing, you probably wish you were never born!" yelped the largest of the three, sneering at the black wolfdog. "why don't you go back where you belong, mutt!" the smallest growled in his ear, smacking his tail into the side of the male's face. he gave a snarl and bared his teeth, standing nearly as tall as the smallest purebred wolf. the only thing keeping him from launching his equal sized body at the silver wolf was the rest of the pack looking on. he could feel their eyes burning through his pelt and in fact, if he had been born a white wolf he figured their stares would burn his pelt black. his angry eyes met the alpha wolf's, who lifted his chin in the air, signaling that he was going to be of no help to the young male pup. he shook his head from side to side, showing his white teeth and as a warning to those around him. he may be smaller, but he wouldn't go down without a fight. "why don't we finish him now alpha? he is of no use in the pack, he is weakened by his dog genetics!" a voice spoke from the back of the group, sounding eager to get in on the action. worry spread through the canine from his ears to his tail, they couldn't do that...could they? it seemed very unlikely, but then again the wolf pack had never been very welcoming of the hybrid. every ear perked to see what alpha would say, clinging on to every word that dropped from his muzzle. "teach him a lesson he will never forget, and then we will send him on his way." excited yelps and howls filled the forest clearing and at once wolves leaped on their paws and advanced towards the small wolfdog. he gave a terrified bark and searched the crowd for someone to save him from the army of powerful jaws but all he could make out was the receding figure of a much larger brute as he disappeared underneath the wave of teeth and claws.

a loud growl echoed across the walls of a large den, escaping the jaws of a large black canine laying in the center of the stone floor. he kicked out angrily and bared his teeth in the midst of his dream. his fur coat was long and soft, mixed with the colors of black and silver with a tan color brown underneath his belly and chest area. he appeared to be an oddly colored wolf, with the size of a full-grown german shepherd. his flank rose and fell slightly as he calmed down, a large scar ran down from the top of his shoulder to where it wrapped around to his exposed belly. suddenly the male gave a jerk of his body and opened his eyes, a renewed hatred burning in the depths of his amber eyes. yet another deep growl rumbled in his throat as he sat up from his grass bed and began to groom his thick fur. the sun peered through the den entrance and shined warmly on his ebony coat, helping him calm down from his recent nightmare. of course, he wasn't shocked from the bad dream as it occurred nearly every night when he went to sleep. from the time he laid his head down to when he woke up sweating in the morning he relived his old days as a pup, when he used to live in the wolf pack. the days of being mistreated and bullied were over for him when his eyes were open but when they were closed he remembered every single word being yelled at him. though there was one thing that stayed with him every minute of the day, the retreating figure of his father abandoning him when he needed him most. he would never forget the amount of betrayal that had rested on him that evening after he had been torn up and thrown out of the pack to survive on his own.

he had never known his mother, nor his siblings, but he had heard stories of how his mother was the most beautiful dog of all. she was a pure-bred german shepherd with sleek tan and black fur who went by the name of sophie. after giving birth to him and his sister, she gave up her son to live with the wolf pack saying that it would be safer for him. it was not, however, and to this day caleb blamed her greatly for his horrible start to life, along with his father, boris. he had seen nether his mother or father since then, but he knew that they both were still out there. one lived in the wolf pack while the other lived with the killers, what a great combination. the large brute shook his head free of the memories and prepared for the day to come. ever since the big growl had hit the earth, the alpha wolfdog had to be more prepared and aware of everything around his territory. he couldn't have a pack on his own, of course, and had gathered a large group of outsiders himself as followers. over the past few months he had established a new pack, one that would be known long after he was gone, the lost pack. it consisted of dogs who were either mistreated like himself or had no where else to go. he had welcomed them into his pack willingly, but not easily, there were still many rules that the pack members had to follow. they had to earn their ranks, just like any wolf would have to in a pack.

after a while more of thinking, the alpha male was ready to present himself in front of his pack. he rose to his full height and padded across the stone floor to his lichen covered den entrance, shouldering his way into the full view of the sun. he looked down on his camp, seeing a few dogs of his pack already awake in the medium-sized clearing. he met eyes with lexie, one of his hunters and was pleased when she dipped her head low in respect. he gave a slight nod of dismissal before lowering himself onto the sunny rock surface to watch over the camp before the day in the life of a pack member began.

xxxgender. fae x age. four years x rank. hunter x tagged. open.

every day seemed to consist of the same things. wake up. hunt. eat. sleep. it was a constant routine, and quite the boring one at that. she loved being athletic and enjoying a good hunt, don't get her wrong, but when things were going as badly as they were now it was tempting to give up and try something different for a change. ever since the big growl more and more of the pack's prey had begun to diminish, leaving very little for the large group of dogs. she had heard rumors about the patrol dogs finding an adult rabbit dead inside a puddle of water that had turned black, but she didn't quite believe that it was the only problem that was causing their food to disappear. she pondered the thought throughout most days, but mostly just because it was her duty to the pack to do so. she was one of the lost pack's very own hunters, proven to be agile and fit enough to take down the biggest of preys for the pack to feed on.

most dogs joined the pack in high ranks in order to impress the alpha and keep him happy, but this was not the case for lexie. she enjoyed her rank as a hunter purely for the chance to get to run and be free. she didn't enjoy being cooped up in camp for long periods of time, and hunting gave the perfect excuse to leave camp. most of the time she fond herself just exploring the territory, not worrying about having to catch something until the very last moment when she realized that she was running late. she had been caught a time or two by alpha when she came home late with nothing to show that she had been out hunting at all, but even having to go a night without eating didn't phase her adventurous spirit. lexie had always been that way since she was a pup back in the longpaw place.

she missed her old home dearly, often wishing that she would open her eyes in the morning to find herself back by the family's fireplace in her soft plush bed. she would be contently laying by the warm fire listening to her longpaw pups playing on the main room's rug. the sweet smell of food would be drifting through the air as the mother and father made their meal, and the sound of the cat snoring near the window would be soothing to her ears. occasionally the children would run over with their high pitched squeals to lexie and shower her with hugs and kisses before being called into the food room to eat. lexie would follow them in and happily clean up after the mess on the floor, and sometimes she would be given the leftovers. ah, those were the good old days. she missed going on the daily visits to the park, meeting new dogs and playing catch with her favorite frisbee. that was where she had met her good friend essex, she had accidentally ran into him while running to intercept her flying red disk. ever since then they had remained good friends, and somehow they had both found their way to the pack.

lexie allowed a small sigh escape her jaws as she made a side glance to where she had her frisbee hidden beneath her grass bedding. perhaps one day she would be able to experience that feeling again, but for now she had a job to do. rising to her paws, she shook out her golden brown fur and stretched, extending her front legs forward and lower to the ground to where her rear end was left in the air. she yawned lightly and blinked the rest of the sleep from her ocean blue eyes, it was time to start the day. lexie trotted quickly out of her den and over to where the pack had eaten the night previously, nothing was left on the small deer carcass. it was picked clean by the pack members, but most likely by shiro in his attempt to get full enough to survive the night. the omega never really had gotten much to eat in the first place, so she didn't blame him for eating all he could get.

a small rock falling to the ground startled her slightly and caused her to look over towards the alpha's den. she could make out the black outline of the wolfdog against the sun and dipped her head in deep respect. she was required to do so unless she wanted to get an ear ripped off, which would be a pointless loss for any dog. she had never particularly favored the wolf hybrid, he was far too serious and grumpy for her liking, but she was forced to at least act like she liked him. lexie faintly saw his quick nod and knew that she had been dismissed by the much larger brute. she briskly returned to her calculations with the carcass and began to plan out some possible strategies for another day of hunting with her comrades.

xxxgender. brute x age. three years x rank. stray x tagged. open.

the life of a stray is not as interesting as one might think. it was an endless search for food, water, and shelter. there were no "fun" adventures as some dogs might say, no, it was working so hard to find your basic necessities and survive that the pads on your paws grew raw. it was not an easy life to live, and definitely not a life for the faint-hearted but for some dogs, however, the solitary life did have some advantages. it allowed a dog to be independent and confident in their own abilities, and it was no different for this stray in particular. he was known as riley by the other dogs on the streets, but the real reason why they called him that was because it was given to him by his mother. he was well known in these parts for his wits and ability to get out of tough situations. riley seemed to only care about his own well-being, but the truth was that he cared for any other day just as much as he did for himself. it had been something that he had learned from his mother from the time he had been born to when he witnessed his mother being stolen from him by the longpaws. they had captured her with a long stick and dragged her away despite her terrified yelps, shoving her into a small metal cage.

always remember to never stop doing things for others, my son. because sometimes those small acts occupy the biggest parts of their heart. he carried his mothers kind words with him day after day. the young brute traveled alone now that she was gone, but maybe one day he would meet some dog who needed his help. but for now, his main focus was on himself. riley's world had been flipped around since the large quaking of the earth, and he had been forced to move to the outer parts of the city in search of food. he felt much more vulnerable in this part of the city, as it was closer to the newly established pack meant for the dogs who had been left behind after the big growl. riley often contemplated the possibility of joining the pack, but every time he came to the conclusion that it would be no sort of a life for him. he had always belonged to the city streets, and the streets belonged to him.

sniffing the ground carefully, he caught the faint scent of water nearby. a hopeful feeling rose inside his chest as he padded over the dusty road to the other side, where a small pool of water had collected beneath the shelter of a small bush. he didn't immediately drink the liquid though, only a foolish dog would do so after the earth growl. any dog on the streets knew that the water in the city was contaminated most of the time, and if you were to find five pools of water it was likely that only one of them were safe to drink from. riley had seen what happened to the dogs who drank from the bad water, just last week he had encountered a large mastiff dog who had drank from a pond outside the building he was staying in. the large brute had gone mad, and foam began to form at the base of his mouth not only an hour after he lapped at the green-black tinted liquid. riley had left him alone on his journey to find safer pools to drink from, but when he returned the tan and black male was unresponsive. he had let his thirst get the better of him when it was most important not to.

riley sniffed the surface of the puddle carefully and shifted his weight to look at it from a different angle. he had found that it helped to look at it from the side to determine the color of the water. from what he could see and his experience he could tell that the water had not been ruined yet, so he leaned over to quench his thirst. after he had finished, he licked his lips and gazed around at his surroundings, seeing the destruction around him for the millionth time that day. he sighed softly and started padding off in search of a place to spend the hottest part of the day and possibly even find something good to fill his hungry stomach. as he continued on down the road he began to smell the beginnings of a storm brewing in the air, "great. just what we need, another storm!" he couldn't help but frown slightly at the thought, he didn't want to experience something similar to the big growl anytime soon, or at all really.

but even with the smell of rain drifting on the wind, riley could also smell the inviting scent of food. his stomach growled loudly, warning him that if he didn't find something soon he might get sick. the german shepherd and great dane mix picked up his pace to a quick trot until he came closer to his destination. never would he have thought that this was where his nose would lead him, a meat shop. riley gave a yelp of excitement and ran up to the white building, trying to figure out his way in. he could make out a locked door on the side of the building with a small crack at the base. that is it! he quickly made his way over to the broken door and tugged on the lock with his teeth. it soon broke away with little struggle, the quake hadn't only weakened the builidings inside the city limits. the stray nosed the door open the rest of the way with his muzzle and wriggled inside. the smell of the meat was a mixture of sweet goodness and sourness. he knew immediately that most of the meal must have spoiled since the big growl. with his hopeful attitude slightly hurt, he began rummaging through the shop, using his nose and paws to get into anything that looked like it would hold food inside it. after a long while he finally located a cooling box that had some meat inside that hadn't gone bad. riley grabbed it securely in his mouth and immediately began to work on it, who knew what other kinds of attention the smell of food would bring!

Mika
female | finnish spitz | three years | patrol

The young female was just waking up early as perusal, as she needed to have a look around the territory. She expected others to be up around this time maybe to get food and maybe to patrol as well. As she rolled onto her belly, she stretched out and made a small yawn as she did. Again she had hardly any sleep as she heard noises in the night, but was only the creatures that lived around here such as birds that nested. The Finnish Spitz walked out the make shift den and walked towards the edge of the territory. As she walked, she looked around the place making sure no one was around making sure she was safe that no one would pounce and pin her to the ground when she wasn't looking. Her ears remained perked up as she listened to her surroundings she could mostly hear the birds singing. She stepped lightly of course and tried not to step on things such as twigs that may alert other creatures around. She sniffed around her surroundings making sure no other dog has been around here, she made sure by sniffing around trees and such but she couldn't find anything this morning. Mika huffed softly and continued her patrol around the boarded making sure no threats were around their pack, she liked to make sure they were safe as again it was her duty to and report back anything that may seem a threat to them.
xxxxxxxxxxMika couldn't see anything that may harm the pack and there was no strays about either. It seemed like it was going to be a good day at the moment but she would come back in an hour or so to make sure they were still good. She thought the others might be waking up now, and the alpha may be up. So she started to make her way back to the pack to see what was happening, hoping she hadn't missed any announcements that may of occurred while she was gone. But, of course she remained alert as she walked and still looked around to make sure she hadn't missed anything. Once she was back at camp, she looked around seeing a few awake and the alpha was as well, she dipped her head to him in respect and after she was dismissed she went towards the den again. The young dog still found herself tired, but she wasn't going to sleep as she may miss something important. So she laid down and put her head on her paws and remained alert of her surroundings.

The first traces of warmth from the sun danced across the female's fur, heating it considerably as she awoke from her slumber. Though she had only just awoken (and slept very well throughout the night) the pleasant weather was already trying to persuade the sleepy canine to take a nap. No, I can't she groaned internally as she slowly forced her eyes to open, the light blinding her for a few seconds before her brown eyes adjusted to the new light. She remembered the days when she would wake up like this in her longpaws' house, the sun shining brightly through the windows and smiling at the young dog. Her dog beg, a sky blue bed just the right size for her to curl up in, was directly under the window of one of the few upstairs rooms, and so each morning when the sun chased away the night, sun beams would race through the windows and land on her silky fur. What could she complain about?

The sound of movement around her pulled Bluejay from her thoughts. She looked around to see that some of the others were already awake, including her brother Chase. Yawning, Bluejay used her long legs to push herself up into a sitting position, small stones leaping from her pelt as she did so. Before the big growl, Bluejay would've thought this day to be fantastic: the sun was shining, the sky was a brilliant blue, and there was a warm breeze drifting through the air, however now that food and water were scarce, rain had become one of Bluejay's favourite things, and sunny days were just as unwelcome as fleas.

More and more of the pack appeared to have woken up now, and so Bluejay stood and stretched out her legs, planning to soon go scouting out the surrounding areas for anything unusual or unwanted in the pack's territory, perhaps even leaving the territory and exploring past their boundaries. Glancing briefly up at the Alpha, she gave a small nod of respect, though her attention was soon elsewhere as she planned out in her head where she would go scouting today.

The loud smash of the china hitting the ground and breaking into a million pieces echoed in the young dogs head. He hadn't meant to do it, in fact, the china had only been knocked off because the Border Collie's tail was wagging due to him being excited about a new frisby one of the longpaws had bought. This of course wasn't taken into consideration by the two older longpaws, who rushed in to the room and proceeded to yell at the now cowering dog. Whining and whimpering, the dog backed up against the wall while the longpaws advanced, wishing that he could just shrink and run away from them. The older longpaws had never liked him, they found the young dog 'too excitable' and 'too expensive', a dog which was far too active and playful for their liking. The younger longpaw was different, he loved the Border Collie and his lively nature. Now there was nothing that could be done to save the dog from receiving a punishment. Chained to a tree in their garden, exposed to the elements who would try all they could to take down the poor dog. The young longpaw still played with him, treated him, and sat with him to keep him company. It wasn't the same though. Nothing was anymore. The friendly, excitable dog was but a ghost now, living on in the heart of the young longpaw and the bad memories of the older ones. The Border Collie was distant, eventually even turning his back on the young longpaw who he had once adored. Turning his back on the world of longpaws who went about their lives like everything was okay. But it wasn't, not after the big growl. They didn't even bother to unchain him from the tree when they fled for their lives. The dog, however, was clever, and had planned to escape soon anyway. Everyday he had tugged on the chain, knowing one day that the clip on his collar would weaken and allow him to escape. That day came only 24 hours after the longpaws left him, and he was quick to leave behind everything he had once loved. He set out to find his sister, hoping that she was nearby. Sure enough, he found her in a matter of days, his hunting skills allowing him to sniff out his sibling. His sister helped him get rid of his collar by chewing through the faded leather. They were free.

Chase's eyes opened. He stayed still for a few moments, allowing himself to fully wake up before standing up and stretching. Glancing over to his sister, he noticed that she was still asleep, though she appeared to be stirring. He also noticed that the Alpha was awake, though decided not to acknowledge him due to having a small argument with the wolfdog the previous day. Chase was very outspoken, and so it wasn't unusual for the two to occasionally disagree. This particular disagreement hadn't been anything serious, however Chase thought it wise to try and not engage with the Alpha for the moment and instead focus on finding food for the pack.

Looking around the camp, other dogs began to wake, and so Chase decided to wait until he received orders to start his daily hunting.

Fluffy was awake long before the sun had risen. She hadn't even went to bed. She didn't know what was wrong with her last night but she just couldn't sleep. She had woke up in a fit by a nightmare of her owner's death, the debris of the house crushing her to death. Each time she had dreamt this, it had always become more and more gruesome, as if her mind was trying to distort the memory into something even worse, and each time, it drifted her farther and farther from sleeping. She was out in the forest now, trying to collect her thoughts away from the pack boundaries. She had decided to hunt herself, something she hardly ever got to do for a reason that bugged her extremely. You see, Fluffy was always a small dog, and being put in a pack full of bigger breeds made her look weak and very cowardice. But she was no coward, she was a brave and strong dog who loved to hunt. She didn't know if the others knew but Spaniels were hunting dogs to begin with. But there was one dog who treated her the worst out of the others, Caleb, the alpha. He had always looked at Fluffy as something you would regret giving a chance to, something that didn't do much in your favour other than diversify the pack and "sit pretty." She hated the fact that this was how her own alpha thought of her, but was to kind to admit it and instead constantly tried to prove herself. She didn't know if it helped her case or not, but one thing's for sure, it made her feel stronger, and she could settle for loving herself.

She smiled at the thought of her hunting successes and looked down at the grouse that was in between her paws, her smile grew wider. Something they didn't know about her? Well, her size was perfect for getting into nests and burrows, and thick places where things like the grouse before her liked to hide. She took it in her jaws and padded back to the pack quickly, looking around at the dogs that were now mostly up and awake. She placed the grouse down and nudged it towards the alpha den, giving him a nod of greeting before walking to a tree close by, waiting for her turn to eat for she knew alpha's got first bite.

Marmaduke had awoke with a loud rustle from his dry, leafy bedding. He had been having a dreamless sleep and for once actually treasured the fact. He used to be annoyed when he slept without dreams, even a little upset. Now, all his dreams were nightmares, and he was glad to get them out of his head. He walked slowly out to the sunlit morning to do his rounds of patrol, which were usually mostly all the time. He grunted as he was blinded by the sun and went to the middle to find Caleb, the alpha. He nodded and gave out a low woof to let him know he was on duty now, heading for the border. He was starting to look for any signs of disturbance when he spotted Mika, a fellow patrol dog. He smiled, but remained alert before saying, I see you've finished already? He asked, knowing that he had woken a little late but still nothing to get upset over, he had his main patrol during the evenings anyway. He looked at Mika, awaiting an answer to whether or not he was off the hook for his job.

He had always loved the thought of protecting. Ever since his boy had left him, it was almost like an obsession, he didn't want anyone to leave without him again, but honestly, he no longer cared about anyone to really care. He brought his paws to the ground a couple times to bring up small dust clouds around his large ankles.

Iris walked along the rough stones and battered buildings silently, careful not to draw any attention to herself, something she very much hated. She was sniffing out for something, anything to eat that would be healthy and not give her a second head. Iris was used to this by now though, and knew all there was to being a stray, she didn't need any pity or judgment from anyone. She was quite content on her own. She sniffed the air searching for some food to eat for she had no real desire for something to drink at the moment. Stumbling over a smooth pile of brick and shingles, she spotted a meat shop in the distance. Licking her muzzle she headed to it hungrily. Iris looked around for a second before going to the back of the store, a place she was more familiar with than the actual shop. She looked around before smirking proudly at the sight of a fan, one that transported the cold air out to keep the shop itself pleasantly warm, the shop clerk hadn't shut it off.

This, was where the garbage cans were, and each one was near the fan, close enough to keep whatever it was in them cool. She let out a small huff before pushing over the can with a loud bang, watching a few leftovers spill out. She smiled until noticed a blackish liquid coating most of the food. She growled and knocked another one down, another loud bang sounding. She looked at it closely, dry. She dug in hungrily, grateful for her experience in being a stray and the longpaws being stupid enough to leave things on and keep things running as they fled.

The female patroller rolled to her paws in a stretching movement before leaving her bed to go on patrol. Giving a nod to the Alpha on the way out for her evening duties. Reaching the boarders, she noticed Mika and another patroller,Marmaduke by the boarder as well. "Hello." She said lightly. Shaking out her coat, she then began to patrol the south regions of the territory. Her ears perked up, alert for any sound and her eyes sharp for any movement from ally, shadow, or small places. Standing on the corner where the street met the park, her eyes narrowed as she looked around for any movement or stray.
