a tail of fire and ice

Buried deep within the charred woodland you will find them.

The two share the seasons; new-leaf and green-leaf belonging to the heat;
while the chill thrives in leaf-fall and leaf-bare. Divided for centuries by
the struggle for land, prey, and power, tensions between Flameclan and
Iceclan rise.
Never before have the two been so far from hearts, cats dropping like flies
as an unknown force picks them off one by one, each clan blaming one
another for the blood shed.
Russetfall was first, deputy of Iceclan, gone as the sun set, his body never
to return, though blood spattered on the Flameclan border indicated foul
play.
Then Froststar of Iceclan had fallen, nine lives taken in a single night.
Shattered, Iceclan begins to rebuild, though vengeance is buried deep in
the hearts of his loyal clanmates.
Flameclan was next to face bloodshed, their deputy, Sparrowflight's body
found washed upon the bank of the river, her pelt thick with Iceclan scent.
Retaliation or coincidence, fire and ice are in turmoil.

Hope is miles away, though war is just on the horizon.

The majority of the clan cats remain in camp currently. Several are organizing patrols after Oakwhisker, the clan medicine cat, held a clan meeting regarding their new leader. He and his apprentice, Ashpaw, are heading to the dragon cave to consult StarClan and receive word about who the new leader of IceClan shall be. The gathering is occurring within the next two sunrises as well.
