"I hear the whispers, but no one's there"

As the thick mist rises, colours are born. From the shades of grey come greens and browns and purples. Deep within the mist, you see something. Silhouettes maybe? Yes, they are silhouettes. Silhouettes of...animals? It is then that you realize you don't know where you are. The meadow is covered in lavender, catmint, baptisia, delphinium, and hosta. So many different purple flowers, but the smell of Lavender overpowers the other flowers. The calming scent of Lavender relaxes your tense muscles and your fear begins to melt away. but then you notice two figures coming toward you. One of which is a massive lion, his coat grey like the mist, instead of tan like a normal lion. The other a slender cheetah, much slammer in comparison to the massive lion. They walk slowly toward you, their tails twined together. Your fear returns, but you can't move. They stop a few feet away from you and the lion moves to take a step forward, but the cheetah moves to block him. Then, the smaller feline approaches you. You can see that she is female as she walks slowly in a circle around you, simply observing. You stand completely still until she has finished circling you and returns to the lion's side. The seem to be communicating through small sounds, then the cheetah turns back toward you. When she approaches this time, she comes straight to you. She nudges your side, pushing you in the direction of the lion. It is now that you notice more animals have gathered a little ways behind the lion. There are many animals, both small and large, all watching you intently. The cheetah pushes you again and you take a step. She seems happy about this and nudges you again, making you walk toward the lion. You are confused and afraid, but something makes you go with these strange animals. There are two or three more humans among them that look exactly how you feel, so you decide to go toward them. Maybe they have more information than you do? What are all these different animals doing living together? Why do some of them look a little different? What is this strange place? These are questions you ask yourself and the other humans, though no one seems to know the answer...except the animals. Oh the surprise you will receive come three days' time...

The animals bring you away from the meadow and after two hours, this forest cabin comes into view. It is huge and...empty. You get the feeling that you are supposed to enter the house, so you and the few others go forward and see that the door is unlocked. You know that you really shouldn't go inside because this is someone's home, but you are lost and afraid and confused, so you head inside. Almost as soon as you find bedrooms, you all are asleep again. It is as if it was all a dream, until you wake again...


This roleplay is about a pack of shapeshifters that has been dying out, and a strange mist that seems to be giving them more shifters and helping them survive. The pack goes to a beautiful forest meadow[seen in the first post] every month for exactly five days to live in their animal forms the whole time. And now, on the last night they stay, a heavy mist falls on the meadow. When the mist lifts the next morning, five humans are left, confused and afraid. Except, they aren't human anymore. The mist has brought them here and changed them. After three days, these humans shift. It happens around noon on the third day, and they can't control it. They suddenly become an animal. Of course, the alpha male and alpha female of the pack then explain to them what is going on and what they are. But the thing is, before the strangers shift, the shapeshifters think they are just humans and the "humans" think the animals are just a dream. The alpha pair forces their pack to stay in animals form while the humans are around, but when the humans shift on that third day, the alpha pair lift the rule and allow the pack to help the new shifters get accustomed to their new life. When the roleplay starts, there will be seven shifters left in the pack, and the mist will present five new strangers. Then every month in the roleplay, new strangers will appear from the mist, but after the first time, the pack knows what's coming, so doesn't bother hiding what they are.

[ t w o ] No character is perfect, everyone has flaws. no mary/gary-sues and no powerplaying. if there is a fight, your character won't always win and no one will succeed with every hunt.

[ t h r e e ] I would prefer if the characters were mostly predators since hunting might get a little...awkward otherwise.

[ f o u r ] make your own forms. please make them look nice and put an image of your human character with a link to their animal form. please post them on the form thread[ will be made shortly] Your characters may have slightly strange eye colors and slightly odd coloring, but no unnatural colors like pink, green, blue, yellow, purple, etc... Also, there will only be one of each form. The Alphas, second in command, and healer will all have two animal forms.

[ f i v e ] no crushing on your own characters. It is just less fun that way.

[ s i x ] drama and romance are encouraged and accepted, though please pm me before anything big is done.

[ s e v e n ] two characters max. please keep genders even and please don't just ask to be in the pack. We must have the strangers filled before we start.

[ e i g h t ] please disable your signatures here. Feel free to post them on the form thread and the discussion thread, just not here please. It make's the roleplay look neater.

[ n i n e ] please post at least four sentences with correct spelling and grammar. Yes, I know we make mistakes sometimes and that is fine, but just not every post, okay?
