It was just another trip, or maybe it was the first trip some of them had ever experienced in the air. Regardless, six dogs of varying breed and age have found themselves travelling over seas with their owners. The point of destination--Australia. Unfortunately, the plane never makes it quite that far. Something goes wrong. It is sent plummeting into the ocean. The humans die, but, in the chaos, all six dogs manage to escape in various conditions. They group together and swim despite the darkness of the night until they reach a nearby shoreline of an unknown island. Tired and some injured, all are frightened and confused. However, as dawn ebbs its way across the sky, a small group of figures appear in the sandy distance. Soon, it is apparent that it is other dogs that are approaching them. They are skinny but bright eyed, untamed in appearance and yet friendly. A female of prime age leads the small group, and offers the new group safety. All of the newcomers accept. The female and her pack take them to a meager den site in the desert, where the newcomers are promised to be taken care of, and, in the meantime, are able to tell their story. In turn, the pack all takes turns sharing their own. What the newcomers come to understand is that they are not the first to fall from the sky and to the island. There had once been others similar to them, who had been accepted by a great pack of native dogs. However, one of the crash landed dogs had been vicious and, with the help of many followers, killed off the majority of the pack which had taken him in. Those who had not died were banished to utter wasteland. During the story, the newcomers are informed that the pack that has found them are the banished dogs, banished dogs in desperate need of members to fight back for what is rightfully theirs. Now, these latest newcomers face a life changing decision. Do they fight for the weak but just, or do they fight for the strong but brutal?

Where the newcomers washed ashore upon the northernmost extremity of the Northern Pack's narrow territory, what might be expected to be tropical and green is...not. Being nothing but parched dirt, rock, and desolation, it is no welcome site to the weary. Life scarcely wanders these parts except for those who are desperate and come to drink themselves insane by the salty waves that crash against the shore.

This is the sad truth of the Northern Pack's fate. Most of their entire territory consists of dry dirt and desert shrubs. Shade is an exceedingly rare luxury. The best way to escape the brutal desert heat is to simply head to this shrubby den site, where several cool, underground burrows await beneath the larger clusters of brush. In the surrounding lands, the only prey to be found are meager lizards, desert birds, and lean wild rabbits. However, be warned, there are a fair amount of venomous snakes coiled in the brush and under rocks, waiting for the same prey you hunt.

This the saving grace of the the Northern Pack. Here is a small cluster of trees which have managed to grow over the mountain and encroach upon nothing vaster than a square mile of the Northern Pack's westernmost section of the territory. Here, a small watering hole remains all year, and here there is the best chance to find a few other creatures of prey, including kinkajous, tree kangaroos, and the spiny, not so easy to eat echidna.

These are the cliffs which spare the Northern Pack from invasion from the South. Only the Northern Pack members, along with maybe one or two of the Southern Pack members know how to navigate over them. When travelling along the base of these mountains, one will learn that the more flowers that bloom in the area, the closer they are to the watering hole.

The Southern Pack really has it made, and as if to gloat on that obvious fact, it was decided that their camp should be made by their territory's most striking feature--the waterfall. there, just behind it, are two openings in the rock behind it. In the largest is the alpha's den. Beside it is the prisoner's. As for the rest of the camp, they make their dens in various burrows dug among the roots of nearby trees.

The Southern Pack has made the best of the swampy eastern section of their land. They frequent the location to hunt for waterfowl, fish, and water dwelling reptiles. However, beware, hungry crocodiles do prowl these waters.

The main hunting grounds, where deer are abundant, are marked as soon as a wolf passes over several rock pools such as these. The area is lush and full of small streams, stocked full of delectable greens for the deer and medicinal herbs for the pack.

The Alphess
An advocate for the right-minded, The Rebel Princess broke off from the Southern Pack and made herself the visionary and just ruler of the shafted Northern Pack.

The Spy

Young when he and the other domestic breeds crashed on the island, he decided last second to run away to the north only because of The Wise, who aided his young self long before The Tyrant decided to take over. He is a feint heart who now fears for his survival and tampers with the idea of grovelling back to The Tyrant in hopes of forgiveness.

The Alpha Male

A brute with a heart filled with greed and starved for power, he is a cruel and strict hand whose greatest desire is to kill those who do not obey and to make the whole of the island his land. While he is strong of spirit, he was injured beyond repair in his original battle against the native pack. He hides his physical ailments well, but secretly they are the reason he has not yet led his pack over the mountains to slaughter his daughter the Alphess and her pathetic rag-tag group of lackeys.

Severe stress has driven his body into constant quivers, and his paranoia and guilt have driven him to near insanity. He is obsessed with following the orders of his superiors for fear of being brutally killed.

The youngest of the newcomer group, The Follower is an easily persuaded, gentle soul. Not quite a year old yet, he has little desire to grow up and stays constantly by his mother's side. He will follow her wherever she goes without question, too lazy and uninterested to make his own decisions. He suffers the worst injuries resulting from the crash, the only member of the group whose life is potentially threatened.

The Fair and Just is exactly that--fair and just. She has a strong sense of good and evil and strives the most to rescue and spare the former from the latter. She is strict and quick to judge, though is usually right in her stark decisiveness. However, it would be wise of her to learn to sometimes be more gentle. She suffers from slight injuries resulting from the crash.
