"Are we there yet?" mewed a tiny frightened voice and the tortoiseshell leader glanced back at her charges, a feeling of guilt and defeat entering her. "Not yet, little one," she replied, turning back to the path she was following, not sure where it would lead. They had been wandering in search of a place to start a new life for nearly a moon now and the Clan had been reduced to thin, ragged cats. Maybe this time the path would lead somewhere safe, somewhere warm, somewhere where the Clan could have a new start. Please, StarClan, show me the way. And there it was - a cliff with a path that led up its side, visible holes in the stone wall that could be fashioned into dens and a little stream that ran along the length of the canyon they had entered. The tortoiseshell's eyes widened, taking in the sight. It was different than their old home, but they were used to change. Turning to what remained of the Clan, she proclaimed, "StarClan has guided us here to what is to be our new home! From now on we shall be called RockClan, as we shall not be defeated. We refuse to lose our home again and we will be as immovable as these rocks that make up our new one." She surveyed the faces of her charges, seeing hope written on them once more, and her mind was filled with optimistic thoughts for the Clan's future.
The excerpt above tells the story of Sparrowstar and her finding of the Clan's new home. Formerly known as BrokenClan, RockClan has now been living in this new home for about 6 moons, slowly adjusting to their new setting and way of life. Yet, the Clan still remembers their previous camps - the forest, the island, the plains, the mountains - all destroyed just when they were beginning to think they had found their place. These cats have survived fires, badger attacks, bouts of greencough and Two-leg invasions, but this time they are determined to keep their home, no matter the cost. Will they be able to hold their ground? Or will they lose everything once more?
