Magnus
{Alpha--Male--4 yrs--Wolf pack--wolf--Calm--TAGS:Amaruq,Timur, Quote--MENTIONS:Hunting party--LOC:in wolf camp}
Magnus gave the elderly wolf a small nod at her approval and comment. Magnus had preferred fish in his younger years if he was completely honest, but as he had grown he had found his taste changed to favoring the tougher meated prey like moose or deer. He had figured it had something to do with his dislike for fishing or the simple need for more nutrients as he grew in size. Either way, he could agree with her and was glad to know she would be able to enjoy tonight's dinner after all her work. A small huff of amusement left his lungs as she moved the topic towards the heat. Due to his old injury, he understood what she meant about disliking the cold over the heat but as an alpha, he knew that either extream temperature would affect hunts. If it was too hot his wolves would tire quickly if there was a chase and it helped that the prey would all be gathering near water sources but that also brought about dangers in itself. Rather than explain his reasoning though he nodded to her and agreed. "I will remember to save you a few hides before winter comes then. Perhaps that will help keep you warmer when it gets cold." The brute made a note to do just that before Timur spoke up suddenly.
"We will be masking our scents with the dust baths before we head off. Help keep us cool while we are out as well. unfortunately, I can not control the wind, but we will see." He opened his maw to continue speaking when Timur brought up the dogs. Magnus stiffened slightly before responding. "We will deal with them if it comes to that. Our priority is the deer and your mother's herbs for now." He masked his anger with the short remark, inwardly cursing the dogs for stealing his beta...and other things. With that though he shifted and turned to leave the den. "Join me out here when you are ready, I still need a few more wolves to join us." With that he left the den, returning to the open cavern they called their camp.
As the large wolf waited for the other brute his eyes scanned the cave, landing on Quote. The alpha had first met Quote when he was barely a trainee, sneaking over the territory borders. She had been alone and they had played before parting ways. He had not seen her again until after he became alpha when she joined the pack. Magnus approached the mottled grey fea, intending on having her join the hunting party. With her, the group would be large enough to hopefully take down a buck or doe. "Morning, Quote." He said once he reached her. "You will be joining myself and a few others on a hunt this morning." He spoke calmly, but he wanted to leave soon. "We will be leaving as soon as Timur is ready." He added, a swift flicker of his ear revealing that he was listening for the smaller brute's paw steps.
Enver
{Hunter/Warrior--Male--3.8 yrs--Wolf pack--wolf--Happy--TAGS:Tynan--MENTIONS:None--LOC:In wolf camp}
Enver smiled at the dark wolf before standing back up and shaking his fur out. Lifting a back leg he scratched at the long fur around his neck, sending tufts of it flying through the air. The heat on the overhang had already begun to warm him up just enough to make him want a drink, the cool breeze helped to keep him from overheating at least. Turning to look back inside the cave he spotted Magnus speaking to a few different wolves and figured the hunt or patrol was about to give way. "Well, it looks like I'm about to head out." He barked, turning back to Enver. "I had fun helping with the bones. Let me know if I can help again somehow. Magnus is grumpy but he wouldn't be mad if I talked to him." Enver leaned forward and nudged Tynan with his nose in a friendly manner before turning to pad back into the den. "Ill see you at the river!" He called out just before entering the cave. Rather than interrupt Magnus and Quote, he stood just to the side of the entrance, waiting for the others.
Redd
{Counselor--Male--11 yrs--Dog pack--Irish setter mix--Calm--TAGS:open--MENTIONS:none--LOC:Forest}
After talking to the two loners a bit longer Redd gave them directions back towards the humans, warning them to stay away from the wolves. He watched as they left and slowly continued his walk. The old dog changed his coarse and headed back towards the river. He found a nice sunny rock on the side of the river and laid there, resting and sunning himself. Redd could no longer fight the raging water in the river but he often came to this part of the river, closest to the camp, to sunbathe. It often helped his aching joints and helped him nap.
As he laid there allowing the sun to warm him up he gazed out into the river, watching the fast-flowing water move. It offered an almost lulling sound effect and made Redd yawn multiple times as he rested.
Clove
{Scout--Female--2 yrs--Dog pack--Husky/Samoyed Mutt--Happy--TAGS:Ares--MENTIONS:Will,Eva&Lily--LOC:Camp}
Clove watched as her leaders raced off in search of their missing pack member. Normally Clove would have followed after them but the fact that both of them were going made her pause. She would need to let the others know that Will was gone and where their leaders had gone off to. The other two females could manage to hunt down one dog on their own. Clove barked out to the two to let them know what she was going to do- "Ill go back to camp and ask around, let everyone know whats going on!" After that she stood and shook her fur, sending mud flying everywhere. Despite the shaking the large majority of the mud had dried and remained on her fur, turning her once white fur shades of brown.
Without bothering the clean her fur any further Clove was off. She ran as fast as she could, weaving through trees before arriving back to the grove. Letting out a series of loud barks she hoped to get everyone's attention. Once her arrival was announced she padded to the first dog she saw, Ares. "Ares!" She barked, her tail wagging in excitement. "Have you seen Willoughby? I'm thinking he ran off last night. We found his scent leading towards the river. Eva and Lily went off to track him, but I wanted to make sure he had not returned." She spoke fast, panting from the extream run, and excited from the curious events.
