Eɪʀᴀ - Evergreens Pack - Female - No Crush - #14
The boom from thunder cause Eira's neck fur to instinctually rise. The churns of worry troubled her stomach as she looked up at the sky for a moment. She shifted her weight at her paws, tail bristled at the darkened sky.She squinted then, wondering whether the weird change of weather was to be thought of as serious. She turned to look at her sister, feeling a rush of protective behavior from her. However,as she stepped closer to the stronger scent of her sister's,the sky began to clear slightly.Eira felt confused right now.Was this meant to be taken lightly?

Her actions halted and she waited for her sister to come towards her instead.Crack! The deafening sound was coming from the far end of the river and now the female decided to feel slightly panicked at the sound. What came towards her was a different issue. The highest wave she had ever encountered was heading towards her.Amber orbs widened as her legs began to take control and she sprinted. She knew she couldn't make it but it was worth a try."Wren?!Wren?!"Eira howled frantically, her eyes not being able to focus clearly due to the waves of water crashing on her.For once,Eira allowed herself to panic and the hard walls she built around her facade began to crumble like the dam itself. The rough female was now a mess. Her heart clenched for the sight of her sister. She was not going to leave her, right?

As a bigger wave sweeps her to a different side of the forest, her back leg got caught between the jagged rocks. She yelped,a flash of pain causing her eyes to tear up.She yanked her hind leg and it soon got dislodged from the gruesome rocks. She was then brought to the nearest shore, heaving up the gentle slope. Her body crashed against the soft ground, chest rising rapidly. She felt hopeless then, her eyes blurry from the water. Her back leg seemed to be sprained and the wolf whined. She forced herself onto her paws and caught the Evergreen's beta,Kinumyth and she forgot of all hatred she had for him and limped towards the older brute.

"Kinumyth?"her voice cracked but the female did not let her weakness waver her although the tears in her eyes said otherwise. She stared at the Beta's sight. He was lying on his side, eyes slightly wide. She didn't know what was to come of them now.The only fellow packmate she currently had was this fellow old wolf she had as a beta. She did hide her hatred for the Beta but there were times she had pushed him to show his loyalty for the pack.He was a great friend of her father's but the female did have a problem with any non-relatives.

TRIGGER
    ................fighter
    ..........group: one

    ...Kinumyth; Eira

Trigger had been uninterested in the omega's approach to their conversation, and not particularly perturbed when she bumped into him, either. He lifted a lip to growl ever so slightly, but he didn't mean it--it was just expected. He heard her apology but chose not to acknowledge it. Brooke was a pretty black wolf, but Trigger only had eyes for the capable, white pelted fighter whose conversation with her mate had taken her away from the big fighter's awkward questions. He was content to watch from the sidelines, and did not offer anything further to the conversation. His belly rumbled, hoping that the pack could soon go on a hunt. Elk danced through his mind, and he licked his chops as the memory of the gamey meat flooded his tongue.

Moments later, Trigger jumped to his feet. He had been zoning out, but a strange sound had startled him. The cracking noise was like nothing he had heard before, and he turned quickly in an attempt to locate its source. He leaned for a moment towards the west, then the north; he was unsure. He could tell that Horatio had heard it too, as the other wolf watched a flock of birds startle from a tree. Then a thunderous boom shook the area and Trigger heard rushing water, more than ever before. And then it was upon them, nothing like the gushing of the river as snow melt caused it to jump its bank--instead, it was torrents. Horatio began to run, and Trigger did as well. Instinct told him to stand and fight, but this was not a rival pack or ravenous wildcat that he could best.

The water caught him up, as was inevitable. He lost sight of the others of his pack as he was pulled under the rushing river that he had marked by his home his entire life. Now, it was trying to kill him. However, Trigger was a strong swimmer; growing up in River Pack had given him that advantage. He held his breath and paddled, breaking the surface with a gasp. There was no need to swim really, except to avoid branches, rocks, and entire trees, and Trigger worked his muscles in avoiding them, though there were near misses. He couldn't see any of his pack, though he fancied that he saw a snatch of white fur that may have been Avery. He worried some for his pack mates, but knew that of any wolves in the basin they would have the greatest chance of survival. Instead he took the chance to get out of the water as the current began to slow, the water spreading throughout the basin and beginning to calm.

Trigger took a few careful steps on solid ground, assessing his condition. He was cold from the freezing water, which still coated his reddish brown fur. He shook thoroughly, though the damp still clung to him. It could not be disputed that he was exhausted and sore from avoiding the obstacles that would have smashed him to death, but he had to admit that he could have suffered a much worse fate in the disaster. Once he was satisfied that he was mostly unhurt he examined his surrounds and realized that there were two wolves nearby, strangers to Trigger. He was on his guard for a moment, but then realized that there would likely be no threat from the pair.

A male wolf lay on the ground, his coat dingy. He looked old to Trigger, from the perspective of a male in his prime. The fighter was sure that the older canine was worse off from his river journey. A female stood near him, a gray wolf who looked young and capable, though she favored a back leg. Trigger approached them slowly, though he did not show submission or weakness. "Are you hurt?" he asked, doing his best to sound commanding but not threatening. He didn't want to hurt the pair, and it seemed the river had done that work already regardless.

|Aurora #5| | Plains pack; Beta| crush; open | Tags; alone
Aurora's ears flicked slightly at the loud thunder like sound, her body jolting up without her commanding it, her frame beginning to shake, her eyes darting around, hoping that lightning could be seen in the distance, then she heard the boom, followed by the sound of gushing water, her stomach churned before she snapped out of her trance "everyone, run" she said before the water came rushing at them, sweeping her away along with the rest of the pack. She was sweep under the water, her head beginning to hurt from lack of oxygen, her body heavy. She fought her way to the surface, her muzzle barely breaking the surface, barely emerged, gasping for breath before being dragged down again.
She began to fight her way to the side of the waters course, her foot crushed by something large as she was washed up on the side. She lay on the damp ground breathing heavily. She began to steady herself, rising to her paws. She winced, falling on to her rear, realising her hind leg was shattered. She began to stand again, trying hard not to stand on the injured paw. Her red coat soaked and the cold wind made her skin freeze. Aurora lifted her head and began to howl, at first it sounded more hoarse before becoming more harmonic. She hoped her howl could be heard by others in her area. She lay down, fighting her body's urge to shut down. She strained her ears for a reply. The darkness slowly took over her.
(sorry I have wb with aurora at the moment, please excuse the short post)

|Faolan #24|Plains pack; Hunter|crush; Annabelle #30| Tags;Alone.
Faolan watched Annabelle with interest before the loud boom caught his attention. He waited a few seconds before turning his attention back to Annabelle. It happened to quickly, Aurora telling them to run and then his lungs began to fill with water, his world was engulfed in water and debris, his eyes burning as he tried to swim with them open. He fought his way to the surface and paddled along it, struggling for breath before being washed up on the trunk of a tree caught in eruption of the dam. His ear stinging. Every part of his body was screaming at him. He flicked his ears listening intently for others in his area, his thoughts returned to Annabelle as he watched the rapid water carry him further away. He hoped with every ounce of strength that she was alright.
Faolan dug his claws into the tree bark as the water slowly started to beckon him. He gazed forward, his eye catching the sight of a wolf in the distance caught in the swirling water, as he grew close, he realized it was unmoving. He shut his eyes, hoping to block the sight from his memory. For moments that seemed like hours he managed only to think of Annabelle before coming to an abrupt halt as the log hit dry land. He slowly clambered off the log, his paws heavily against the soft, wet ground under him. He took off unsure of his route ahead instinct compelling him forward. He build up pace, the wind drying his tangled black fur, adrenaline blocking all his pains. He caught the scent of a familiar wolf and he slowed, sniffing the air as he began to catch a stronger scent mixed in with the smell of fresh blood, he hurried to Aurora, knowing she was hurt. He didn't want to waste any time.
He froze as he saw Aurora lifeless looking body, going over to her slowly, nudging her and seeing her body flinch with contact, he sighed in relief. He howled, hoping someone would hear him and be able to help her. He sat beside her, protecting her from the harsh sharp wind.

__________________________
Crow sulkily padded after his alpha as she walked out to hunt. That's when the thunder came. The ground shook and tiny cracks zigzagged across the ice in his imagination. Grumbling, he shook his head, of course something like this would happen. Just of course. He pricked his ears, furrowing his brow and wondering what the sound was. It aint nothing good. That's when Alpha seemed to sense something, and she yowled for them to run. Crow didn't.

Crow stood, almost walking towards the thundering creaks that made my confident alpha run, but he didn't get far. For soon after the white wolves yowl rose a giant wall of water. Now with widened eyes, the brute ran, and ran quickly, but he had no chance of outrunning the massive wave that surged down upon him, and with that, he was caught. Crow spent some of his young years swimming, but he hadn't for a long, long time. He floundered, barely managing to keep his head above water in the turbulent waves.

The water began to shift slower, but he was far from solid land, and far from the calmness of the lake. The black wolf pummeled the choppy water with his paws, but what happened next was either inevitable, or fate. The current quickly pulled him against a rock wall, and his body smashed against it. The brute let out a yowl, but was still able to swim. But then, he realized with a terrified start, a uprooted tree was coming in his direction. Quickly.

Crow tried to dart below the branch, but he became quickly disorientated, and was sucked under for a time. He tried to grip the trunk with his claws, and he broke the surface, but fell back under. Eventually, he dragged his soaked body on top of the log, but his paw was stuck in a tendril. Fighting it, he almost pulled his leg out of the socket, but fell back. Blackness almost enshrouded his gaze, but again, he fought the fatigue. He started to try to pull in every direction in his panic as the log neared the shore, ready to crush him. In his final fear, he jerked one last time, heard a sickening crack from the direction of his leg, and was free.

Pain overwhelmed him, but the brute managed to pull himself on the other side of the log, and fell in the water, slightly more safe. Gulping in water, the wolf almost drowned, pushing himself one final time, to the surface. He fell against the surface of water and heard his sister's faint cry before his world went black.

***

The minute Crow came back to his senses, he knew his sister was with him. No! Why is she here! She can swim to shore, I know she can! She doesn't need to try to save me! But the omega's teeth were in his scruff, and she was nosing him to wake. Crow blinked open his icy eyes and peered around. The water had settled since he fell unconscious, and he was more sure of himself. One problem. As the black brute thrust out his right hind paw, he let out a small yowl and fell under the surface of the water. He attempted to recover himself, aided by his sister.

Slowly, with the help of Brooke, Crow made it to shore. This was a good thing, because he didn't think he could survive swimming much longer. Shaking with fear and cold, he lay transfixed on the shore. "Thank you," he whispered to Brook, for once forgetting his grumpiness in shock. He tilted his head, to see a lump of dark fur on the shore. "Larka.." he growled, unable to hold back his distaste of having her, of all wolves, wash up on the same shore as him. Turning his head despite his growing headache, Crow looked at the one other wolf in sight.

Crow would've leaped to his paws in astonishment if he hadn't been sore, injured, and tired. That's Sobek! That's! That's him! Oh goodness I'm glad Crystal's not here. That's the alpha of the river pack, Crystal-Alpha's ex mate! Crows eyes widened and he blinked a couple of times, calming himself. Well isn't this great. Another alpha that knew me previously to boss me around. Just great.

{Larka, I think you said that Crow wasn't in your pack. He is.}

I prick my ears, about to move out to the hunt when a omonious crack thundered throughout the ice. Generally there were many noises that ricocheted through the ice as it melted, but not like that. Not as.... Big. Crystal kept herself steady, feeling the vibrations under her paws. Slowly but surely, she sensed the danger. At least, it was just a gut instinct. "Run! Evacuate the camp!" She barked loud enough to hear anywhere in medium range. This warning, though, came much to late. For just as she began to bolt away from the cracks, the wall of water rose into her vision, and swept her away.

Crystal never swam. That was simply how it was, and how she thought it always would be. So swimming for her dear life was quite the contrary to her strengths. Gasping for breath as the chill wiped it away, she gulped in icy water. Pulling her paws frantically up and down, the she-wolf rolled over and over before finally breaking up and gasping for air. This situation seemed to go on forever, but the wolf never gave up. She attempted to avoid the rocks and sticks, but ended up severely bruising herself all over when it hit her sides or muzzle.

Finally, the water slowed. It definitely still was a cascade, but it seemed like a river. Crystal, heaving herself to ground, started to cough up water. Her vision went in and out as she sucked in the much-needed air, but she never fell into darkness. Eventually coming to her wits, the lithe wolf pulled herself shakily to her paws and noticed the three wolves around her. Good gods, I must have looked like a fool. Widening her eyes, she wondered if it was anyone she knew. Gathering that it could be a wolf from any pack, icy hate flooded through her as she made sure Sobek wasn't there.

Unhappy that she reorganized no one, the wolf began to pace slowly back and forth, wondering about her packmates. Soon, though, she lowered herself to the ground as the aches in her legs took over. I must find them, but first, I must introduce myself to these wolves. Tilting her head upward and heaving herself again onto her paws, she limped over to the three. "What are your names? I am Crystal, alpha of the Icecap pack." Though that is, in a way, all gone. Shivering, she drew herself to her full height and gazed upon them. She undoubtedly looked authoritative, but she still tried to look friendly-she couldn't hold up in a fight.

adin | #15 | tagged - open

After Breeze and River ran off, Adin stood there for a moment, unsure of what to do. It was eerily silent, besides the soft chatter of birds and the breeze that flowed through the leaves of the trees. It was too silent; the forest knew something, and he had a feeling something was wrong as well. Suddenly, a loud thundering crack echoed through the woods of his home. Birds cawed in panic as they flew from their perches into the sky. Adin froze, but bounded to a large rock to get a better view of what was happening soon after.

The river was flooding.

He raised his head and let out a long and loud panicked howl to alert any wolves nearby. Although he was more fixated on saving himself, Adin still felt the need to help any others so they could save themselves. The handsome brute frantically searched for any higher ground as the river rushed towards him. It was moving to fast. For a moment he froze, crouching low to the ground as the wall of water came crashing through his camp. His instincts told him to run, and he did. As fast as he could. However, it was no use. The speedy current of flooding river swept him away.

The alpha struggled in the flood; fighting to stay above water. He resurfaced, gasping for air as he was swept away. A sharp pain shot up his leg as he was tugged back underwater, only to have his head bump up against the trunk of a tree. Hard. Everything went black. It was now up to Mother Nature to let him survive or not.

Once the catastrophic flood slowed down, Adin's body was washed up on a rocky beach. He was motionless; still passed out and soaked from the water. The alpha wasn't breathing, but he was still alive. Well, not for long. Unless someone saved him.

Just like every creature and living thing in the forest, Raven was swept up by the terrible flood. It was a terrifying experience for her; being horrified of drowning it was her worst nightmare. Her amber eyes flitted from side to side as she kept herself above the water, frantically searching for something to help her survive. The huntress was lucky, and soon a large log came rushing by. The black fae scrambled on top of the wood, letting her upper body hang on the trunk. She panted heavily; looking like a pitiful little puppy as she fought for life in the flood.

However, the worst of the nightmare came to an end. Eventually the jet black female found land, and dragged herself upon it. She was too weak an tired to continue on; instead she collapsed along the beach, coughing up water.

{{- I currently have some wb for Raven, I'm sure the next post will be larger once I have more to write on ^-^

Brooke let out a disgruntled snort and flopped down beside her sodden fur-ball of a brother. Her legs ached with the weight of the water trapped in her fur, and her muscles memory of the treacherous swim through the flooding valley. Had it not been for all the time she had spent in the river by herself, idly splashing around in her river of thoughts, the she-wolf would have probably drowned. But at least she wasn't alone. At least she wasn't drenched through to the bone by herself. God knows, she would have driven herself insane if she had been.

Shivering, she found her place beside her brother and huddled into what fur she could find, with most of it plastered to his body. She wanted to share warmth with him - she found herself wanting to do that most days - but her kin had moved on. Brooke closed her eyes for a moment, imagining she was with her brother back in the den, chasing autumn leaves and sunning themselves atop small boulders. But that was gone now.

Upon opening her eyes, Brooke followed Crow's gaze to a she-wolf, not far from them, cautiously wandering over. She smelt faintly of Ice-cap, but now in a world where their home had just collapsed, the wolves couldn't be too sure of anything. Brooke shakily hauled herself to her paws and defensively stood over her brother. A faint growl erupted her muzzle as she crouched low and flattened her ears to the back of her head, and she directed an icy gaze towards the wolf warning her to stay back.

A cool breeze brought to her nose another scent and a slight spray of water. Sobek? Her harsh feelings almost completely forgotten, Brooke lifted her head and let her fur lie flat so she could look in the other direction. Sure enough, her alpha was nearing the small group of pathetic dogs. A questioning whine escaped her throat as she cautiously removed herself from her brother's side and crept towards Sobek. He was an alpha, and she was an omega, and she clearly still held a lot of respect for the great wolf. Brooke shrank a little as she neared him, and cast a nervous glance back to Crow, before continuing to advance.

Hazel was the farthest away from the dam in the river pack when the first crack sounded. She had been chasing a butterfly, drawing back to her years as a puppy again. The she-wolf liked the simplicity of a life like this, not having a care in the world and never being held responsible for anything likely to go wrong. She had a strong mind, but sometimes she didn't want it. She wanted to turn back time, and go back to suckling from her mother and bounding around with her litter-mates.

When she heard the loud groaning noise, Hazel had lifted her head. What was it? There was no logical explanation that Hazel could pin-point, and she was about to turn to where the noise came from when another crack erupted throughout the valley. A black pelt streaked passed her - Brooke - and a few others too. Hazel tilted her head, looking to them and then back towards the dam. She set one paw in front of the other, when she saw the towering wall of water flying towards her. "Oh c-"

Before she could finish her sentence, the wave was on her. Hazel was swept away instantly, yelping and whimpering as it carried her off her paws. Her legs thrashed against the current, and she struggled wildly to pull herself to the surface she seemed so far away from. Bubbles erupted from her muzzle as something soft smacked her in the face, and she twisted in the water to the the carcass of a rabbit being swept further down stream. Gagging now, Hazel pushed harder. After what seemed like an eternity, she managed to push herself to break the water.

Finally, Hazel had made her way to shore. The ground was sodden beneath her paws, and destruction was all around her. She let out a disgruntled snort and flopped to the ground. Blinking the salty water from her eyes, her gaze traveled around what used to be the valley. What now was the lake.

Her eyes landed on a soggy white figure laid down on the other end of the shore. "Hello?" She called. It didn't move. "Are you ok?" She said, louder this time. Nothing. Hazel got unsteadily to her paws, wavering at every step. Her breaths came short and quick, and her head was held low. Slowly but surely, Hazel was recovering. When her paws landed on the rocky beach, the she-wolf knew she was almost there. She sank down beside who she now believed to be Adin, the Foothills alpha. Hazel had to admit that the male terrified her. But he was dying. Hazel could tell from the coldness of his flank, and the way he was shakily breathing, coughing and spluttering at the same time. With all her remaining strength, she managed to turn him onto his other side. The coughing became louder. Hazel parted his jaws (trying not to be caught on the sharp teeth) with her paw, and a river of water fled out. A Gasp erupted the males mouth, and his breathing suddenly slowed down. Hazel had done all she could, now it was up to him. She laid down beside him, letting him share some of her warmth.
