~Oh.
~So this is how its gonna go...
-The fae's golden, crisp irises swiveled over his stout frame...her pupils a void of black with that crescent of piercing yellow falling right underneath...the glimmer of sunlight catching her eyes just right...
-The brute was merely dead meat to her.
Worth despicably-
Nothing.
-He had a nice, well-framed face- with ruffles of slightly silver fur ticking his curved muzzle and his ears aggressively back as his lips remained taught into a snarl...teeth bared and yellow... He certainly seemed agile enough- his shoulders cut with muscle and his spine cackling with sleek, ebony fur... -She could catch the suggestive shading of ribs, and maybe even a hipbone...
-No doubt hungry.
-Starved.
...The brute smelled distantly of snow and pine...masculine...but- undeniably-
Alone.
-He still had specks of dirt clumped on parts of his belly fur-- no doubt from a night spent without a den...
-A night spent in cold, bitter freezing temperatures...
-Alue's eyes seemed to read this...analyzing and studying any feature she could grasp... -Finding any little knickknack he would reveal...
-His narrowed gaze mirrored hers, no doubt struggling to find something of his own...though he'd be met with a wall.
-She merely stood there, ears bursting with ascertive confidence and maw cracked into an antogonizing grin... Her power rippling within her stance...
...And yet...
...Somehow...
...Someway...
~He's completely unafraid~
~He's reading you~
~He doesn't care about the rabbit, Alue~
...He cares about you~
-She forced herself to rake in a long, silver breath...her body relaxing almost calmly...openly... -Her muscles were still tensed, her tail still cackling behind her- though she seemed to have finally let down her gaurd...or, at least...appeared to.
-Honestly,
Alue could never truly relax...
-The brute seemed to be driven by a perceiving intelligence...the loner's expression saying no doubt more than his words ever could...
-Rethinking his worth now, aren't you, Alue?
"-Chase? ...My alpha would dissaprove. -It's a waist of time, dealing with loners who haven't even stolen from the territory...despite, their intentions,"
-She mused slyly...noting the brute's hoarse voice with quiet interest.
"-Do you need an escort out of here? Or do you need a rabbit? ...You can't ask for both."

The black loner watched as her eyes seemed to flick over his body once again, this time giving him the complete look over. He knew he more than likely looked weak and thin, his once shiny onyx pelt having more dull days than vibrant ones. A lack of feeding led to malnutrition which led to the way he looked at the moment. His teeth were slightly yellowed from a lack of bones to gnaw and strengthen them on, a few of his ribs were showing where his pelt had sunken in from the lack of meat for days at a time. He looked horrid, he knew that, he understood that, but that did not mean he was weak. Everyday regardless of whether he went hunting or not, he worked to keep his muscles strengthened and toned. He would not fall victim to becoming a weak loner who was unable to survive on his own; he had too much pride for that and he was much too good of a fighter to allow his muscles to weaken and dissipate.
The golden amber gaze focused back on her's as she spoke, that arrogant grin still on her maw. He remained stoic and calm, giving away no emotion, whether it be from his eyes or facial expression. He was good at that, hiding everything behind his gaze. There were hardly any wolves that could read him, and he preferred it that way. Apathy was the way to live when you didn't want anyone around you; it kept everyone away and certainly kept him away just the way he liked. He released his lips from their snarl, though his muscles remained taut as he listened to her; she was taunting him, and that wasn't the best choice for her. When she asked the question, he almost laughed, almost. He didn't need help, certainly not her help, whether it be finding his way off the territory or finding something to eat. Knowing this, he replied gruffly,"I choose the third option, neither."

-She flickered her tawny ears, letting them relax their tension on the loner and now on other things...on the tiny, v-shaped black birds flocking across the horizon...on the tangle of brush surrounding just solely them...no one else...
-It was eery.
-Quiet.
-Strange.
-She was alone, really...without a pack of loyal wolves balanced over her shoulders and without a rank that truly meant anything... -She was out of her comfort zone- out of the wall of her camp- out of her den... Her beta no where in sight to judge whether it was a thorough decision or a wrong one- to judge whether she should've let this brute stay for so long...whether he should even be alive...
-It was still her territory, yes...it still was the Moon's...but it was...was...just open field. Just grass.
Just a flat plain of dying hay and sparsed out trees.
...And a dead rabbit.
...And two wolves.
...How could it be anything more?
~Reminds you of when you were still a student, doesn't it?
~When nothing mattered?
~When pack law was still breakable?
...What are you trying to do here, Alue?
Blinking almost blissfully, the red fae finally tore her gaze away from the view...staring quite vacantly now on the black brute...no doubt her age.
-To be honest- as alpha, finding loners wasn't something she usually did...ever. Truthfully, Alue had never confronted a wolf that wasn't a part of her own...and despite all her training...it was obvious the fae really didn't care.
-She understood assets and dictatorship.
-She understood loyalty and respect.
-She understood quiet power and a lethal tongue.
-She understood hunger and thirst and the food chain...
...But rules?
...Was it really rules that applied here??
-Letting her shoulders relax, the foxish fae dipped her muzzle, plopping her rump carelessly to the ground and sitting nonchalantly next to her prey...one of her hind legs reaching up and scratching her ear...
"-An option three? If you want you could go all the way to option five and just sit here... -Though I'm sure that's not the point, is it?"
She blinked, watching him plainly through the corner of her eyes...most of the previous aggression gone...though that knowing smirk never seemed to leave. Letting her tongue run slyly over her canines, she nodded.
-He was cold, that was for certain. Revealing nothing, showing nothing, feeling nothing... -Well controlled and poised...
Strangly- somehow- someway-
a mirror of herself...
"-We could go with option seven, too- ...My name's Lue'. How about you? ...Who're you, exactly?"

Altair watched her as her amber gaze flashed up to something in the sky. He followed her line of sight, seeing the flock of birds making their way across the blue sky above them. He saw no interest in their movement, but clearly she did as she watched them for several moments. She seemed to be lost in thought, thinking about who knows what. He knew very little about this female as he could read nothing from her expression or her actions. What he thought she would do, she didn't, and what he didn't think she would do, she did - like watching a flock of birds flying. He would rather watch grass grow than pay any attention to birds.
She finally, finally came back to the present as her gaze settled back on him. He stopped himself from rolling his eyes, instead focusing what she had to say to his own comment. He wasn't leaving without a fight, and by her apparent relaxation, she wasn't going to push him. Shame, he was looking forward to a fight, though he would have felt slightly - only slightly - bad fighting a female. Not that they couldn't fight, he just felt it was unfair, but that didn't mean he would back down to a fight if it was presented. As she sat back, the black loner remained standing not taking the invitation to relax and have a conversation. If she wanted to converse with someone, she could go back to her pack members. What did she want with a loner anyways? He was a nobody, a no one, and as a pack wolf, it was her duty to run him off the territory or fight, not have a conversation. Or, that's what he figured was her duty; he didn't know, he hadn't been a part of a pack for years and didn't plan on going back anytime soon. He paid no attention to her first question, merely chose to ignore it. She was being sarcastic and arrogant, and it was slightly irritating him. She was full of herself and he was getting closer to knocking her down off of her pedestal. At the mention of her name, his ears flicked, thinking about whether or not he should tell her his name. He chose not to, instead replying,"'Lue? That short for something? Sounds rather odd."

~No patience, hmm?
~The brute's egging for a fight, Alue~
~Don't you see that?
...But you're Alpha, aren't you?
...You decide when a fight goes down~
~Not him~
~Not some loner~
-Her thoughts chastised, residing deep within within the corner of her mind...dying to rise to the surface with all their remarks and insults...all their hot arrogance and taunts...all their bitter secrets... Numbly silencing them, she prickled her ears once again in the brutes direction...her gaze falling onto his dark, ebony frame and his exasperated eyes...
-For a moment she almost caught him rolling those very eyes- though he wisely caught himself...
~Shame.
~Truly wished he'd go out and do something horribly stupid by now...
She raised an eyebrow, her face sqaured on him and her nose quivering with slight disapproval...almost reading the way the mood about him was shifting.
-Her eyes began to move downward, noting the tell-tale signs of a strained wolf...his shoulders still bunching up and his muscles still somehow rippling beneath that thick coat...tensed and dangerously pulsing...
-Like a student, recklessly waiting for his mentor to give a cue...just so he could leap straight into a blood curdling battle... -He was poised hungrily, waiting for that precise moment...that chance she'd slip up...
A hard, uneasy lump sat at the back of her throat, the fur about the tip of her tail cackling ever so slightly...though she remained undeniably relaxed...calm and open.
-Within that split moment, the fae had already put together any sense of former attack...analyzing the way he stood and the way his weight was positioned on his paws...the reach and distance between them...
-Locking her yellow, golden amber eyes onto his, she merely smiled...a gesture with an unsaid meaning...the lips of her maw simply curving upward and her gaze unmoved.
-As he finally picked through his words...she returned the scoff.
"-Rather odd? Hmm, no where near as odd as the name you've left me to give you, brute,"
Alue retaliated, her eyes glittering with that muse and unheard laughter...her expression still as sly as ever...yet controlled... -Capable of hiding vast emotions and thoughts.
-Just a mere, easy going shrug.

At that moment, the loner decided he would give her an opening. He sat back on his haunches, his muscles relaxing, his tail curling up around his paws. He could play this game, and he could play it well if he wanted to. He kept himself slightly up on his haunches, though it would appear as though he was sitting in a relaxed, completely calm position. He couldn't give her a complete opening, but he could make it appear that way. Honestly, he wanted her to attack. It would give him something to do that wasn't sitting here and having a conversation. He wasn't interested in a conversation. If she was a part of this pack, and it seemed as though she was one of those in command, she ought to have her way with him. But instead she wanted to sit here and talk about the weather. Well, it was fall and it was getting cold. Super exciting, super great, thanks for the conversation, catch up later. At that, he couldn't help himself and rolled his eyes at his own thoughts, amusement flashing across his eyes for a mere moment. Then, he was back to be stoic and controlled. He'd play her game of conversation, but he was most certainly not going to sit there all day; he had other things to do.
The black brute watched as that smile reappeared on her muzzle, her eyes giving off a slight glint of some unknown meaning. She was thinking something, what he did not know. She seemed to be as good at hiding her emotions as he was, mainly through her use of constant sarcasm. She scoffed right back at him, the muscles in his forelegs tensing and pushing his paws into the earth. She was pushing him, testing to see how much he could take of her arrogance. Good thing he didn't have a short temper, most days at least. He wouldn't be the first one to crack, he'd make her crack first if anything."Anything you could come up with for me would be better than 'Lue, princess," he uttered back, adding an extra special touch of sarcasm to the word princess.

Crush: Shasta
Location: Within camp territory

It was clear the other fae was not meant for mornings, and Raize let out a soft laugh of amusement before following Raika. Her steps were near silent as she entered the thick forest area, trees towering over them as birds flitted from branch to branch. "If we can, I think we should go back to the rabbit burrow we spotted yesterday and see if any rabbits have been roaming around there." Raize suggested with a friendly smile.
The red wolf trotted ahead a bit before sniffing the air to ensure she was going in the right direction. "Are you sure you're up to the tiring task of marking all the hunting spots? You don't have to come with me." The fae teased lightly, shooting Raika with a knowing look. The rather chilly morning air was a miserable exchange from her own comfy den, but if they didn't get things planned for the afternoon, the pack would be in trouble.

Crush: Akita
Family: Frost

Already up and alert, the large brute silently padded through the forest ground, his paws making a whisper as they press against the curled, dried leaves of autumn. His dark eyes scanned his surroundings, noting the crook of a branch that held a sparrow. He had woken just a little after Quinn and was on his normal watch for unwanted wolves, though honestly, winter was coming and every wolf would be struggling for food, which meant more interactions.
Before he could dwell on the thoughts of a fight between loners and packs, he caught a whiff of the fae scout, just a little ways ahead of him. Shade had already circled the camp once, it wouldn't hurt to have some company. Bounding over, Shade greeted Quinn with a smile and a friendly nip to the shoulder. "It's rather peaceful this morning." He commented in a hushed voice, careful not to disturb the air of tranquility.
Frost
Age: 4 years
Gender: Brute/Male
Rank: Fighter
Crush: Aspen
Family: Shade

I'm sick of all those students that squabble about in the morning. He was annoyed the minute he had awoken since Kain had somehow ended up in his den, again. That pup must've had a scary dream again and scurried to the nearest den, his den. The brute snorted in distaste as he strode out of his pack border, thinking to get some fresh air. He would have liked to be a loner, with such freedom in his soul, but he wouldn't leave Shade, not ever.
Frost huffed in irritation as a few squirrels darted past his claw and Frost considered chasing after them, just to see if they had the nerve to cross his path again. Stalking low in the underbrush, the wolf followed the two preys until they had stopped to chatter among some leaves. He tensed, ready to lunge when a sudden strange scent crossed his path. Another wolf. Frost's eyes narrowed in suspicion, though the thrill of something interesting tugged at him as he began to change course, tracking this lone wolf, so close to camp. A low growl escaped his curled lips as his hackles rose in warning, alerting the loner of his presence. Kain
Age: 1 year
Gender: Brute/Male
Rank: Student
Crush: None
Family: Khalon

Just about to give up on his early meal, the young wolf watched in surprise as the fae went over and helped tug the prey out from underneath the hulking pile. "Thank you Permafrost!" Kain blinked gratefully as his tail thumped against the ground joyously.
"Since you helped me get the bird, would you like to share it with me?" He asked, his eyes shining in friendliness. Permafrost was one of Kain's favourite wolves in the whole pack, she was the nicest and the most fun to be around with. "Maybe afterwards we can sneak off and go check out that hollow oak we found yesterday!" Kain suggested, a lopsided grin on his short snout.

Permafrost pulls a few feathers out of her claws with her teeth. "I would, but I've already eaten. Can't say no to a little exploring, though. Where was that again? Ah, I've forgotten already. Whoops. Anyway, I'll wait for you to finish your meal, hopefully before Quinn gets back."
She gathers the feathers of Kain's prey that had gotten stuck on her claws, as well as the feathers of her own, otherwise finished, brid, and starts blowing and nosing them into the air, either slamming the black and brown colors back down with her paw or blowing on them until she can't reach them anymore.

║╚▄▄▄▄▄▄█ the dim light of my den felt... almost quiet against the sound of voices just
ten yards from my den. with a sigh, I realize that it is time I should be out
of my den and stretching my legs. I stretch my legs, shake my pelt, and get
to my small, nimble feet. I take a deep breath, give a large sigh, and make
my way toward daylight. the sun's brilliant lights glows down on my shining,
tan fur. without hesitating, I take a few steps, not expecting to bump into
a much larger body of fur. I yelp, surprised.. maybe I should've let my eyes
adjust to the light... I blink, trying to see what is right in front of my face.
"I.. um.." I stutter badly, finally seeing who i'd just run into. it was khalon.
"I'm very sorry! I should have allowed my eyes to adjust.. er.. I mean,"
then, I pause a moment, take a deep breath, and say, "I'm so sorry, beta."

-She could feel the corners of her maw widen, her heart practically hiccuping in her chest...bursting with this grand triumph... -A good feeling.
-A warm, feeling.
~Because-
~Whether that brute knows or not-
...You just won this game~
Her thoughts applauded, snickering and sneering with their usual arrogance... Alue couldn't help but grin- her eyes seeming to already clap with approval as the strange loner finally, finally gave in...letting himself rest down comfortably in the grass, his onx-like tail neatly draped over his stout paws.
Relaxed, calmed, opened...
-Much more mature...
~Don't forget his eyes, though, Alue~
~Watch his eyes~
-A deep, hard instinct inside of her guided- forcing the fae to once again glimpse up at the brute's steady, unwavering gaze...that ring of bitter amber stoic and controlled...
-And strangely enough-
It was like a mirror...staring expressionlessly back at her.
-Filtered with secrets and unsaid words... -Easily hiding things and keeping up his gaurd-
-Oh-
-
-And then he was actaully rolling them- the corner's of his slack maw ever so slightly cracking with amusement--
~But that's it...
~That's all he's gonna give you, Alue~
Quirking one of her eyebrows, she watched him finally roll off a few words...no doubt a challenge- but-
...That piece of foxdung just called you what?
~Princess??
~Oh, no, no, no, no~
-The fae couldn't help but choke, finding that the very air she had been breathing just a moment ago was now lodged in her throat- a deep, rattling growl escaping slightly past her lips...despite, her efforts. Struggling to swallow the saliva in her mouth- she gulped-
~Think he just tried to insult you??
~That inconsiderate, flea-raving, fur-plucking, back-stabbing, ear-bending---[beep--
~Nope-
Don't say it-
Don't finish that thought, Alue...
~Don't go there...
...Blinking...she forced herself to calmly relax...forcing the cackling fur along her spine to settle back down... After a thorough pause...the alpha dipped her head.
"...I'm gonna guess that's sarcasm... -Lue' is just short for Alue. There's not that much of a difference, doll-face."
