Not paying attention to anything but the prey before him, Roundbelly starts when he hears a mew from the den entrance. He lets out a small hiss of annoyance, looking up at the apprentice as she enters.
"My leg hurts from where I laid on it wrong during my nap and there's a fox-dunged tick at the base of my tail i cant reach." the elder replies bluntly, taking a mouthful of vole before continuing. "Buzzardbrain back there is dead for all I know." he grumbles, indicating the napping form of Cricketleap behind him.

Stonepaw nods eagerly. "I'll get Mousebile and Poppy seeds then, shall I?"

Firebird groans and stretches. "Were any of the other cats hurt?" Uglyeyes's ears flick forward. "Just the two that brought you back. What were they doing there?" Firebird looked up as another cat entered the den, then back at Uglyeyes. "I have no idea. I think they said a hunting patrol. I don't remember much though."

Echospirit smiled. "Icepaw! You're alive! But, how did you make the jump? How did you find me is a better question." Echospirit stood up awkwardly after her sister got off of her. "Follow me, maybe the clan I'm in will let you join." Echospirit started to limp back to camp with her sister behind her.
"Actually, it's Icefrost now. Once the clan was split up, I was the new medicine cat apprentice and a few weeks ago, I got a dream from Hurricanepaw in Starclan and he showed me where you were." Icefrost told her sister. "I don't know how I made the jump. So, your now Echospirit and your a warrior. Am I correct?"
"Yes, we're here." Echospirit walked in to camp, her sister beside her.

Roundbelly turns his head away from the medicine apprentice.
"Whatever you want as long as it helps." he mews bluntly, taking interest in his meal again. "Little bugger is bothering me so bad I'd chew my tail off if I could reach it. Can't get a wink of sleep with it biting though me..."
At that the elder takes a bite of prey, dismissing the young cat with his tail.

Stonepaw padded out of the elders den and back to her own. She hoped Roundbelly had actually said what she guessed he had. Grabbing poppy seeds and mouse bile, she headed back to the elders den and got to work on his ticks.


EDIT: Did anyone else ever notice that Echospirit was never added to the first page?
