Resin-Alpha Female-30 Summers
A soft laugh bubbled up from within her and she tilted her head a bit, arching one dark brow. "Wake the heavens, eh? I'm not sure about all of that." Seating herself a short distance away from Ahote, she curled her tail about her paws, then stared towards the dark spot that was Curse. "She's full of sadness, that one. There's something very familiar about her that I can't quite place. I just know that if I'm able to help her, then I will." Glancing back to Ahote, she spoke again. "She belongs with us. The other stragglers may leave when we're safe and I won't mind, but if she decides to leave, it will be a loss for this pack."
A small itch nagged at her, so she lowered her muzzle to her foreleg, scratching it with her teeth. Licking the fur smooth, she slid down to lay upon her stomach, crossing one paw over the other. There she sat for a time, staring off into the darkness of the horizon. Eventually, she broke the silence. "Is it really that obvious that something's bothering me?"
Turning, she looked the former alpha in the eye. "If you knew something of great import, but it could possibly endanger the ones that you're sworn to protect, would you tell them?"
Ash-Beta Male-30 Summers
The big white male grinned and, even though the chunk of rabbit would be no more than a swallow, he accepted the gift. Once eaten, he rested his muzzle upon his paws, staring into the distance. Soon the deep, even breaths of River flowed like a constant melody into his ears. Even after he fell asleep, he could hear the constant rhythm of the pups breath. It comforted him to know that someone was so close. To know that he was not alone.
