While he was asleep, Tigerpaw heard a voice, he couldn't recognise it at first but as he looked up in his dreams, he saw a beautiful black she cat with a nicked ear and a white paw, it was Sootpelt, his only hope as a kit! "Tigerpaw, it is not your time to die yet, go look after your clan," she mewed softly, "Sootpelt, I can't! The fox has shredded me!" he cried, "Don't worry Tigerpaw, the wounds will heal soon, well most of them," the she-cat said, "The fox has clawed your chest, I'm afraid it has nearly got your heart, you are very lucky, now go help your clan," after that lots of Starclan cats joined her and the he woke up. Tigerpaw felt pain from his til, eye and chest. He yowled weakly looking up to see who was carrying, he recognised Littleear right away and Shadowstrikes dark tabby pelt he knew.

Leopardtail ran after the foxes, they took a direction that Leopardtail had never explored before, 'hopefully they won't come back,' she thought, looking at Viperstrike and trotted back towards the fox hole, "I will make sure no fox kits are here," she mewed, crouching into the hole and looking about, nothing, she listened for any cries, nothing. She crept back out, "nothing's in there." she said. "Let's go back to camp," Leopardtail raced back to camp remembering Tigerpaw, she followed the trail of fox scent and then reached Litteear and Shadowstrike was there too, Leopardtail felt a tingle when she seen him, but shook out of it, "Do you need help, I think Brokenstep is out of camp," she added, "should we wait untill he returns?" she was walking beside Shadowstrike now she liked his company better than any other cats.
