Athena sneezed again while padding to the usual meeting spot, the run-down carousel, that had been the meet of both of their borders. Athena yawned again, looking at the ride with such pity and sadness, she'd remembered when her and Isabelle would come out to play, Officer Deans would wait while she sat on a bench decorated with horses as it spun. But Isabelle was gone, and so was Deans, Athena was so lucky to still be breathing. She let out a small huff, her ears perking as she heard the distant heavy paw steps, instantly recognizing the familiar source; Micah. She watched the canine from the border, admiring his calm demeanor as she inspected his movement, her shoulders slumping in relaxation when she saw he was by himself. She plastered on a fake smile, her tail lying limp as she stood up, her chain rattling while she padded to the edge of the border, eyes bright, "Hey Micah!" she barked out excitedly.

Keenan chuckled with a small nod, "It's alright-It wouldn't hurt to try" he encouraged kindly as they walked around, inhaling the calm breeze for any prey or predators. Keenan sighed as they walked near the rusty fence, looking out onto the dirt road, a million thoughts filling his head. "I can't begin to remember what its like beyond this fence..it's a blurr really..I came to the park a few years ago-when I was very young-to hide from the hurting humans..but now, I forget what the outside is like" he admitted with a small sigh, looking past the fence and at the dirt road, seeing the distant buildings that held nothing but destruction-after all, the whole human population had vanished.

"I understand you Keenan, because just like me you want to go see what the world is like nowadays." She stared at her paws. "Though the world has crumbled overtime, I still believe that this world is beautiful."

Keenan smiled, appreciating her positivity while nodding, "I too think there is still beauty..we just need to find it-this amusement park itself is beautiful to me-it's my home after all, but one day-oh god, I just want to travel to my old home..visit the lake-I don't know..I feel like-like Jacob will be at the home if I go back-but I know he's long gone-and so are the rest of the humans..I just can't help but have a small smidge of hope--but it's ridiculous" he admitted foolishly, he'd adapted to pack life but he did miss Jacob and his old human owners..it was a shame they had to destroy each other and leave the beautiful planet to rot under their paws.

As the old carousel and a familiar dog near it came into view, Micah's stance perked up. He smiled, his tail lightly wagging as he approached the german shepherd. "Athena, it's good to see you." he greeted her warmly. He didn't sound as enthusiastic as his friend, but that was just how he naturally was thanks to his upbringing. Micah couldn't say he was friends with many dogs, so the fact that she was considered one was very meaningful to him. "I hope everything's been going well. No problems with patrol?" he asked, eager to begin a conversation with the eastern dog.

Nova had awoken with a start, sucking in a quiet and sharp gasp. Her heart hammered in her chest, and her fur stood on end. Another nightmare. Slowly, she picked herself up onto her legs, stretching to help clear the last foggy remains of sleep. With her body slightly more relaxed, Nova padded away from where she normally slept and out with her fellow pack members. She eyed the strange metallic objects scattered about, looming over their surroundings. Amusement park rides were what they were, but Nova knew little of man and less of their creations. The sight of the intimidating objects sent shivers down her spine. Forcing the thought away from her mind, Nova padded towards her pack mates. Perhaps she could talk to someone for a little bit before going on a hunt.

Athena smiled, making sure she didn't cross into their territory as she sat down with a small smile. Shaking her head as her tail began to wag for the first time in a few days, she sighed out in content of the beautiful day, "No Micah, but how've you been holding up? I just-this is going to sound unlike me-but I wish we could have an actual hunting patrol together-I enjoy your company..but-anyways, how've you been?" she rambled, nervous for some reason as she admitted her thought sheepishly, she was usually not one to want to be accompanied by others, but Micah was special to her-she'd known him since she first joined the eastern pack, and as much as she wanted to be in the same pack as him-she wouldn't leave the eastern pack for the world.

Cookie looked at Keenan. "I had humans too, of course you probably already guessed that by now..." Cookie looked away, it pained her to talk about her humans. "They loved me dearly, and since I have always been a house dog it has been rough ever since I came here...I feel like I can't do anything right and that I'm just in the way."

Keenan sent her a look of sympathy, nuzzling her shoulder to comfort her as he rested his head atop her shoulder, inhaling her scent.
