hidden in the terrain once known as the rocky mountains lies the nation of calgaria. united by the seven tribes that founded it, calgaria is known for its history of conflict and unease. per tradition, the country has always been led by a monarch who gains their crown in a ceremony unlike most. when a ruler dies, each tribe sends their most talented young warrior to battle for the throne in hopes of bringing their tribe honor- and the reigns of the nation. when the king and queen are found slaughtered in their beds, nobody is surprised- the same tribe has won and sat on the throne for three generations now, and under their lazy rule, famine and unrest has plagued calgaria. tensions are high as each tribe prepares to send their contenders to the capitol for a series of games for the crown.
