About Shining Hope; Shining Hope Rehabilitation Center doesn't only focus on rescuing and rehabilitating injured horses, though it is their main job and the only thing they currently allow the Jailbirds to help them with. Presently, they are home to about fifteen different species of wild animals that they care for until they can be released back into the wild or, if that isn't possible, until they find a safe sanctuary or zoo to settle in.
The Horses
The Twins; Adam and Garnet are twins. While rare among horses,
twins do occasionally happen, though the success rate for a safe
birth is fairly slim. Adam and Garnet were raised in a poor envir-
onment where they were ill-treated and neglected. They were
broken or trained and are wild and unruly. They operate in a sort
of herd mentality, but Garnet is the clear leader. They tend to
behave better when separated.
Paired with; The Owner's Daughter
Big Red; Big Red is a fairly new resident of Shining Hope, having
arrived only a few weeks ago. His previous owners claimed he
used to be a fabulous and sweet horse, he would even let their
kids ride him. But he was caught in a barn fire and was badly
burned. Red has since healed up, but the mental turmoil remains.
Now, he is unpredictable and throw almost everyone who attempts
to ride him.
Paired with; The Arsonist
Winston; Winston is actually a typically sweet horse but he can be
extremely unpredictable. Not much is known about him, since he
was discovered through an anonymous tip. Judging by his injuries,
it was assumed Winston hadn't been treated well and had eventually
been left to die, tied to a post. He is typically nice, but he isn't very
trusting when it comes to people and especially dislikes women.
Paired with; The Lock Picker
Sparta; This massively huge animal is named Sparta, and for good
reason. There is absolutely no chill in this horse whatsoever. He
is an intact stallion, rescued by an underground breeding operation
that cared little of the condition their animals were kept in. Sparta
doesn't trust anyone. In fact, he turns pretty aggressive at the sight
of humans and because of this, he has to have at least two people
working with him at a time.
Paired with; The Owner's Daughter and The Gang Leader
Snowbell; This pretty little Filly is aptly named Snowbell. She is
actually quite the unique case. Snowbell was actually rescued
from a circus. Their training methods were harsh and borderline
illegal and when poor little Snowy finally collapsed under the
pressure, they left her to die. She was found on the brink of
death and brought to the center. Snowy is extremely timid
of new people and animals.
Paired with; Male Twin
Prince Bucky; This handsome young lad is affectionately called
Prince Bucky. Once upon a time, he was an award winning show
pony, specializing in Dressage. Unfortunately, when is rider grew
tired of Dressage, she also grew tired of him and he was rehomed
to a family with several young kids who harassed him endlessly. He
now hates children and has trouble listening when given a command.
Paired with; Female Twin___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Felix; Felix arrived at the center, alongside his sister Vanessa, when
they were just cubs. He is a Bobcat, who lost his mother to hunters
and had no one to teach him to hunt. Luckily, the center has someone
on hand who specializes in that sort of thing and they were able to
teach the two how to fend for themselves. Felix has been released
multiple times but always seems to show back up. The last time, about
a year ago, he showed up badly injured and had to have his leg removed
so now he lives full-time at the center.
Vanessa; Nessa is a bit wilder than her brother. Whereas he took
to being pampered by humans, she has always been a bit more
independent and isn't super keen on cuddling up with people. That
said, she also isn't exactly afraid of them either. Nessa is completely
devoted to Felix, however, and she follows him everywhere. Anytime
Felix returned to the Center, Vanessa was sure to turn back up within'
a few days as well and when Felix took up permanent residence, so
did Vanessa, naturally.
