The war has started. The tension between countries has finally taken control. Bombs have gone off in several different countries, and after pulling allies into the dispute, this has become the next world war. World War III. At least that's what people are calling this. There are a good amount of lunatics out there who are in belief that this will result in the end of the world as we know it. More to come on the matter soon.

This war has become very bad very quickly. Those "lunatics" may not have been so insane after all. Nearly all of the large cities in the United States have been bombed, smaller countries have been wiped off the grid. They've taken our children into training. So many young people were drafted into the army. What a nightmare this is.

This is a war that nobody will win. Large, unnatural beasts who crave blood have been released everywhere that people still reside. Cities and towns stink of blood, lives are lost left and right. Safety is nonexistent at this point. There is no such thing as living now. You're either a corpse who was a victim of the horrors of this time, or you are a corpse who is helpless and alone, awaiting your death.

On the 21st of September, 2016, the third World War broke out. It seemed like a war just like all of the other in history at first. Most countries were brought into it for their allies. Sadly, it took a turn for the worst fairly quickly. Cities of even neutral countries were bombed, allies became enemies, and some countries were completely obliterated, turned into a land of rot and rust. Many young people between the ages of sixteen and twenty-five were drafted into the military to fight in the war. Things continued to get worse and worse, until the day. The day that large, huge, crates were dropped in america. Whichever country delivered them was unknown. At first, these crates were believed to be bombs. This belief was obliterated when forces arrives to be defused. America was met with quite a surprise once the crates were opened. Beasts, the size of small buses, were freed from their prisons, and immediately set on their murderous rampages. Those who were never opened after they were dropped did manage to escape, more hungry than the rest. The young adults who had been drafter into the army years ago never were trained to go fight with the military. They were trained for specifically for these beast. The government had gotten anonymous tips about the beasts and trained warriors in defeating them.Weeks after the beasts had been released, the government send six soldiers into every state to rid of the monsters roaming there.

location: gov't facility, helicopter / tagged: the group / mood: eh

─ years of training had been meant to prepare sawyer for this day. training so that he would have less fear, be stronger, and more drive to win. despite all that he had gone through to prepare himself for what was awaiting him in the outside world, sawyer elliot was still frightened. terrified really. whatever was beyond the walls of the government facility he had spent the last few years in and called his home was his future. destruction, death, etc. just bad things in general. while sawyer was frightened, it isn't what you would think. most would be afraid of the beasts who were dwelling in the world. lurking in corners and waiting for new prey to show itself. no. sawyer was afraid of what had become of mankind. how many bodies would he see in just one day? would he even come across anybody who had managed to survive? unlikely. the only good thing about this mission the group was being sent on was where they were headed. sawyer had been absolutely dreading the idea of having to see his home state in destruction. thankfully, it wouldn't be an issue. it wasn't colorado that they were headed to, but new york. however selfish it may seem, the idea that he would not see his home state in shreds was almost soothing to the boy.

the tall, messy-haired man stood at the airbase that he and his six comrades would be leaving from. you would think that they would be draped in heavy, protective clothing that made them look bulky and awkward, but no. each member of the team had on a light protective vest for the time being, only making them look somewhat bulky and awkward. each had a bag full of more protective equipment and any weapons they may need for their "mission". sawyer, being the clumsy, awkward, nervous person he was, had nothing more than a handgun and a hunting knife. along with the protection equipment, each member had a bag of food, water, blankets, etc. other necessities to live. sawyer was a bit off from the rest of the group, just watching for the helicopter that would take them to their doom nervously. not like that is a surprise though. when isn't sawyer nervous?

Rikimaru looked over at Sawyer and noted his anxiety. It was understandable, especially with it being him. They cleared their throat to get his attention and looked him in the eye. "It'll be alright, you understand me?" They spoke calmly and soothingly to relax the nerve-wracked tracker.
Rikimaru themselves wasn't nervous in the least. They were interested, in fact, and couldn't wait to see one of the beasts up close and personal. They had vials of arsenic and iocane powder (awesome if you get the reference) at the ready if worst came to words, though they had the utmost confidence in their team that they would not be required to assist in killing any of the monsters. Should they be required they wouldn't even be sure how they could administer the dosage. Originally they had intended to give the sniper some arsenic to dip their bullets in, but if everyone was dead that would obviously not work.
