just another day at
camp halfblood, if
you don't count the
romans that are
there. this year is
special. after much
thought and lots of
planning, the two
camps, jupiter and
halfblood have
agreed to hold an
exchange program
that allows a select
number of campers
to visit the other
camp for half the
summer. each
participate gets a
partner from the
other camp and is
accountable for
guiding their
partner around. so
far, the exchange
program has been
a success; with the
greeks returning
from camp jupiter,
it's now that the
romans get a taste
for camp halfblood.
although no fights
have occurred yet,
some good natured
rivalry has been
brewing between
the two camps.

they've welcomed the greeks to
their beautiful camp, showed
them the beauty of new rome,
and took them in as one of
their own. but now on their
visit to camp halfblood,
everything is upside down. the
greeks are much 'looser' to their
disciplined and militaristic
norms; easy to say, not all the
romans are liking the change.
capture the flag almost feels
like child's play, and the
grounds are no different from
any ordinary summer camp.

the romans burned a tattoo on
their forearms, but aside from
that, their experience in camp
jupiter was amazing, especially
the bathhouses. maybe things
were a bit harsher, yet, it's
easier to come to have a better
appreciation for the romans.
they can only hope that the
romans will like camp halfblood
as they did in camp jupiter. who
knows, they might even get a
chance to talk to their godly
parent, something the other
camp could never offer.

the life of calista greene has never been easy. despite a warm smile on her face and a positive outlook on life, it is inevitable that people are quicker to shy away from her than to welcome her with open arms. having the reputation of being a daughter of pluto tends to scare people off as she is seen as 'dangerous'. and to be frank, calista has stopped blaming them years ago because she is dangerous. for the ones that she holds dear, death tends to follow in her wake. although she is never the direct cause of death, it is believed that her presence tends to encourage misfortune. however, those that are loyal to her can also find a wealth of happiness in their lives. at the age of eleven, she was dumped at camp jupiter because her mother could no longer provide her sufficient protection from monsters. even now, some of her legionnaires reject her; no matter how far she has gotten, she will always be an outcast one way or another. to make things worse, she is sufficient with a gladius, but she is deadly with a bow and arrow, making it her weapon of choice; something that is usually not acceptable.

immortal and only appears to be seven-
teen. many foolishly turned down artemis'
irresistible offer, but the hunter of
artemis is not one of them. she is
obstinate, headstrong, free-spirited
and condescending. beneath the
surface, she is sweet and cheerful.
she is also talented because she is sly
and a gifted archer. the hunter has
brown hair with blonde highlights, and
her eyes are hazel. she is short, only
5'3, so she is often made fun of for
her height, which is a big mistake unless
you want an arrow in your foot. given that
she has sworn off all men, she is not
crushing on anyone.

it was pilar's intelligence that allowed her to rise through the ranks of the legion, nothing else. her twin might be a combatant, more into competition and fighting; pilar is not. however, she proved herself early on with her ability to develop battle strategies on the fly. she's aware of people's strengths and can magnify them. equally importantly, pilar knows someone's weakness, and how best to use it against them. maybe it is this that makes her so passive-aggressive: while pilar lacks the confidence and physicality to defend her point to others, rest assured that if you cross her, you will eventually pay. pilar backs down quickly from confrontation but isn't quick to change her mind - she'll just pretend to acknowledge another's point. more often than not, her intellectual mind reigns over others, but when it doesn't, pilar's close-mindedness leads to her own detriment. pilar isn't close to very many people, perhaps because she won't hesitate to stab an acquaintance in the back to further her own ends. however, if you are her friend, then she'll hesitate before taking such a course of action. pilar values knowledge and learning over all else - perhaps unexpectedly, seeing as her mother is the god of war, but she gets that war is impossible without intelligence. she's in the third cohort and is one of the centurions' main advisers.
