before dying horribly the original trolls and kids made a tunnel between pre-reckoning earth and alternia.
it's called the spacetunnel, inventively.

it's been fifty years - alternian sweeps are irrelevant now, as the earth sun moves faster - since the spacetunnel was created. things are different now. some trolls live on earth and some humans live on alternia. languages are swapped and shared. some humans have even taken to the four-quadrant system (even though they're seen as kind of weird).

of course, all this friendly cultural blending doesn't mean there's no fighting.

as the cultures of trolls and humans have been merged, there are some differences from what has been seen in 'canon'.
❥ mutations in trolls are now more widespread as, with the introduction with the human's generally 'nicer' approach to society, culling is now generally frowned upon. however, this does not mean that trolls (especially older highbloods, who can remember the 'old days') treat mutants as anything less than inferior. mutant grubs are often abandoned by their lusii, which means that a large number of homeless mutants live on alternia and on earth, where they hope to find sanctuary.
❥ young trolls and humans are allowed to 'play' together, leading wrigglers to be more gentle and children to be more outgoing. it's a pretty good system.
❥ as a result of this mixed-species upbringing, more and more humans are taking up quadrants. it makes sense, after all.

BACKGROUND/UPBRINGING
sherit lives with her woodfowl lusus (pheasantmom) in a smallish hive on the out-facing side of alternia. despite having an grubhood relatively separate from humans, she has been brought up to be polite and respectful to them. as well as her well-meaning personality, this has lead her to have quite a few human 'penfriends', who she contacts via trollian. with her home-loving nature and shyness, sherit rarely leaves her small village, and has never actually seen a human (or a seadweller) in the flesh.

sherit uses aerosolkind - specifically, pepper spray. she can also use other aerosols, such as hairspray and spraypaint, without her specibus complaining.

ABOUT | Idrina is the current fuchsia blooded child in the empire, since Gl'bgolyb still takes a single wriggler in at a time. She stands fairly tall for her age, with a muscular physique from swimming for her entire life. Due to the humans presence on alternia, she hasn't had to kill for her lusus the same way other heiresses had to. Now, instead, she takes animals raised for the express purpose of feeding her lusus. This has sheltered her, for the most part, from the demands that the other heiresses before her were forced to meet. She isn't as physically aggressive as a result, focusing more on the political side of her future duties than the physical ones. She's becoming a skilled manipulator, and enjoys pitting others against each other just to see how it turns out. Idrina has an almost constant need to be in control, and so often comes across as over bearing, whether in controlling things around her or insisting that those close to her be taken care of almost constantly.

Personality | Marcus is generally a polite and well behaved kid. Having grown up traveling back and forth between planets, he has a fair grasp of each culture, and so has ended up as a fairly even mix of the two. A eternal jokester, Marcus always seems to have a smile on his face and a joke on the tip of his tongue. The one thing that can throw him off however, is his music. Marcus has poured his life into his music, and those who insult it quickly find themselves regretting it as he either lectures them on music history for and hour or challenges them to do better, while he points out all his flaws. Apparently no one ever told him that trolls are supposed to be the ones with the temper.
Background | Marcus was born to a single mother, as his father left soon after she became pregnant. For the first few years of his life it was just them, until Krilen entered. His mother had a troll moirail, still rare in those days. However, when her moirail found a matesprit as well, their life suddenly jumped into high gear. All three adults were musically inclined, and so they went and formed a band. Most of their early shows were booked for the novelty of it, but they were good, and quickly formed a following. By the time he was seven, they were traveling all over the earth and alternia, bringing him in his wake. While they've never reached superstar status, they live fairly comfortably, and play some big shows.

He often wears snapbacks as he thinks they're the coolest thing ever.

Heliio is very outgoing and upbeat, he's generally very friendly and constantly looking for people to socialize with. Although he is easily distracted by just about anything, he tries his best to help out and complete tasks ( although very difficult ).
He is very flirtatious and loves to flirt around with just about anyone he can. He is also very skilled at art, but hardly let's anyone see what he is drawing so you wouldn't really know.

He was raised in the slum area of a large city by his lusus, who he loves dearly, although despite his love for his lusus he was a very harsh and rough boy, as one would have to be. He lived in a shack of a house, it was beaten up and missing windows and many essentials. After a while he began participating in some illegal activities to make money to get by, but after some time he grew away from these after he reached a bit of financial stability. As soon as he could he moved to a nicer living situation in the uptown, where he softened up quite considerably and began to live a happier life.

Gloust I'kena is sixteen in human years and enjoys causing uproars and
getting into brawls. His interests include carving seashells, octopus and history.
Gloust is fairly intelligent but doesn't like to show it, due to wanting to look
tougher than he actually is. He only has a few friends and has a flush crush
on a troll that lives miles away from where he is. Gloust dislikes people who
