Welcome, to the year 2087. The year almost the entire Earth has been flooded over with the help of climate change. There's only one patch of land left in the world, and that's only nine by eleven miles, with the water still rising. Scientists had been warning about this event years before, but society merely snickered at them, clueless of the accuracy in their predictions.
The survivors of humanity have grown desperate for supplies, fighting each other and sometimes even killing each other for their own survival. But the faces of hope have bubbled up from the ocean. Mermaids and mermen, fish/humans that before the floods, have stayed hidden from mortals. A few ideas have came into the human mind- one, find a way to become one of them and live on. Two, to keep humanity going but have them able to thrive, they could breed with these majestic humanoids... Of course, they'd have to gain their love and trust.

✬ Tess' rules apply to this roleplay; make sure you know them before joining! This means no image texts for roleplay posts, writing out sexual scenes/birthing [always use fade to black for these. Plus, these shouldn't be occurring often.], no forced romance, so on. READ THEM.

✬ Please have your characters be ages 20 - 30 years.

✬ Please no requests for homosexual couples. I don't have ANYTHING against homosexual characters, but the focus of humanity right now is to keep it going. The last time I checked, homosexual couples cannot reproduce.

✬ Level of literacy - Semi literate. Meaning, 5+ sentences, proper grammar, proper spelling, no text talk, punctuation, and all of that good stuff.

✬ Curses such as hell, damn, and crap are accepted, but do not to use them too often. Also, do not use any other curses that aren't listed.

✬ Two character is the maximum and the preferred amount, but I will be okay with one character. If you create two characters, they have to be of opposite genders and opposite species. Let's make sure to have both mermaids and mermen instead of mermaids and male humans.

✬ To create interesting match-ups, I will be generating the future couples. Before posting the list, I will PM everyone the character(s) their character(s) have been paired with to make sure that it's okay with you all. If you have a problem with any of them, don't be shy and tell me.

✬ No super angelically kind characters, also known as Mary Sues/Gary Stus... This is basically the apocalypse, there's no such thing as "nice" anymore.
