Backstory...

The prince of Orea, heir to the throne, is about to come of age. He is not yet betrothed to anyone, and his mother and father, King Balthazar and Queen Teanna, are eager for him to marry. Many young women from wealthy and powerful households are eager to marry him, if their parents agree. They must travel to the castle, and will be given apartments. Then, Prince Dalton of House Keernin will pick his bride and they will marry about six months after he comes of age, at age twenty-one.

Rules...

i. I expect you to write at least paragraph, although more is preferable. A paragraph means perhaps eight sentences, with six or so lines. There are no exceptions for writer's block, you'll have to find a way past it.

ii. I expect a strong vocabulary, impeccable spelling, and perfect grammar. This includes mixing up their/there/they're and your/you're.

iii. Girls hoping to be betrothed to the prince MUST be ages sixteen through twenty.

iv. I expect you to make your own form, but it must contain the personality and perhaps some history of the character, a first, middle, and last name. The last name is their "House," whichever family they are from. It must contain a picture of the character. It must contain a short, NO PICTURE description of the house's banner and the general reputation of the house if they have one.

v. No male names for characters. You may make up names, but do not make them extremely outlandish, such as Pourinak.

vi. Follow all of Tess's rules.

vii. This roleplay is set in what is equivalent to medieval times. Please consider that.

viii. Only one character who is trying to marry the prince. You may have another character, just PM me first asking if it's OK.

Places...

Doull - The capitol city. Built on the bank of the Tarmel River. People in the capitol serve guests to the city and the royal family, or work outside the city on one of many wheat farms. It is usually very sunny, and only very rarely snows, although there is the occasional light shower.

The Palace - The royal family lives here, along with many servants who sleep in small rooms, often with a roommate. Guests also stay in the palace. The palace is made of tanstone, a red-gold stone similar to granite. It has many gardens and rooms with open ceilings.

house || Dark green banner with a white circle with a leaping deer in the center. Keernin is known for ruling Orea longer than most houses: nearly two centuries. They have influenced Orea greatly, making the country more warlike.

in depth || Dalton is very ambitious, and has motivation, making him a very strong force. If he wants something done, it will get done very quickly, with quality. He can be too forceful and a tad egotistical, but overall, he is friendly. He is adaptable, and very energetic. He loves to learn, and reads a lot. However, he does also enjoy hunting, horse-back riding, and furthering his skills in archery and sword fighting.

history || Dalton was born in the summer, just as the sun rose. His middle name is a variation of his mother's mother, Troina, and his first name was the name of his father's dead father. At the age of nine, he was kidnapped and held hostage by the house Darr for two weeks, making him wary, almost paranoid. When he was fourteen, his twin, but older, brother Dane was killed in a carriage accident, leaving Dalton the heir.

ρєяѕonalιту :: I am rather shy, quiet, gentle spoken.. I can totally be very lovey dovey at times, I love friendship and being there for others. I make sure other's needs are filled before mine, which can often end up in me being used.. but at least I made someone happy.. which makes me happy. Many people see me as frail, weak.. a bean pole.. and I usually see them as correct because of my low self esteem. I often get pushed around, but on the rare occasion I stand up for myself. I always stand up for others, and that can get me into trouble too. Often my emotions are bottled up and when they begin to bubble out, I make quick, rash decisions that I find (at the time) to be the best option.. even though most of my rash decisions end up with me being worse of..I am the youngest of ten kids. All boys, my older brothers taught me how to take care of myself and others... and they were always there for me. My eldest brother, Shaun, is actually the one who talked me into this.. I was too afraid to enter.

My parents are now in their old age, being 60 and I am the only one not married yet.. they are keeping their fingers crossed, wishing me luck.
ѕkills::well, I am very artistic. I am also great with kids and animals. I also am a rather skilled writer... or so I have been told. I don't really have the highest self confidence or self esteem, so if you ask to see my work I may just act rather queer about it.

Banner & Reputation::Our house banner is that of a purple color. The center is cream with a golden lion in the center, rearing up on its hind legs. We are also known for our bravery, and a long history of serving as knights and in the army.. this makes me feel slightly out of place because I am so shy..

Personality: My personality can be hard to understand at times. Some say that I can be unpredictable. Laughing one moment then crying the next. I am a strong woman and I know when I should speak and when to hold my tongue. I am a strong willed person and when my mind is made up I will work to achieve it. I am also a very patient person. This helps me accomplish my goals. I am not pushy to get things I will wait and work it out so that when I get what I have been wanting everything will work out. I am also a very kind hearted person. I love the world and wish it to be a great place for everyone in it. I have a gentle spirit at times, but it could change into a very cold one. History:I grew up as the only child of the house of Lovett. I had an older brother, but sadly he was murdered when I was two. So I don't remember my brother at all except by a painting of him, my mother, father, and I. I grew up being well cared for and always watched over. My parents didn't want to loose me because my mother could no longer have children so I was no the last of the family that could continue the house. My parents are now older and are waiting patiently for me to get married.

house // Baldwen's banner is black, with a white silhouette of an owl in flight. Baldwen is a house known for its vanity and arrogance. It is not very powerful, but because Teanna is queen, they do have some influence.

personality // The queen is a people person. She is a leader, even if the king is the one with the real power. Teanna can be quite charming, although she is quick to threaten those who she believes could harm her or her reputation. She likes to keep busy, especially with people and her other hobbies, including playing chess, playing her flute or harp (which she both mastered before the age of twelve), embroidery, horse-back riding, and the occasional hunt. Like her son she can be a bit too forceful, but she is also resourceful and clever.

history // Teanna has three silbings. Two are her older brothers, Darwen and Erron, and the other is her younger sister, Nalia. Teanna was betrothed to Balthazar at the age of fourteen, and they married when she was sixteen. She gave birth to Dalton and Dane at the age of nineteen, and to Marion, her daughter, at the age of twenty two. When her son Dane was killed, Teanna grieved for a very long time. Even now, she still is.

House: Lancret, my fathers name. A very prestigious and very rich household, with only one heir to their fortune. The crest is a red, black, and gold design, with a diagonal split down the middle. The top half is a golden crown outlined in black, the bottom, a black sword outlined in gold, the top half base, black with red outlines, the bottom base red with black outlines.

Personality: In my family, my attitude towards marriage or anything else does not matter for my suitors will usually seek my immense fortune. Nevertheless I portray myself as a cold and ruthless being in all attempts to scare them off. My parents have sent me here to this place to greaten my power, but I will do my best to be perverse and turn the prince’s thoughts of marriage away from myself. But just because I don’t want to be here doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun humiliating the other brides-to-be.

History: I grew up rich, I grew up spoiled, and I grew up knowing that I would never let a man get his hands near my inheritance. Since my mother bore no other heir, I was and am the only recipient of my parent’s great fortune, and I would like to keep it that way.

Deeper: I guess under all this uppity rich girl act, I really just want a friend. Every man has sought my love not my friendship, and every girl has been a threat. I tend to rub people the wrong way I’m afraid, so there’s not room for much else than malevolence.
