The battle of the Black Gate went terribly wrong.
- It didn't matter whether you were a soldier of Gondor or of Rohan or a member of the Fellowship yourself; you were fighting for the freedom of Middle-earth. Though it was a grievous battle that you would never forget for the rest of your years, the ruse was a success; Ringbearer and his companion had cast the Ring into the fires of Orodruin and the fight was over.
Or so you thought.
The Uruks at the battle went mad when Sauron's spirit was destroyed; in a last-ditch attempt of an enemy who knew they were defeated, they had managed to capture a small group of soldiers who had been fighting on the side of the Free Peoples in a final tribute to their fallen master.
You are one of the captives that have been kidnapped by the spawns of Mordor; all you know is that there are eight of you, and that the Uruk-hai have dragged you deep into the Mountains of Shadow and plan on using you for a foolish 'ransom' in exchange for the lands of Arnor, as a final tribute to their fallen master. Fleeing will be a difficult task, but there are still foul things that lurk within the Mountains that you must counter during your escapade if you wish to return to your home alive.
