Soushi listened to that rather long winded apology and watched the droplets that flew from the top of the umbella, mainly just in case they decided to move the other way and splash him. He nodded along as she spoke, understanding that perhaps she was nervous or embarrassed about admitting such a thing, since she struck him as the strong sort. But he admired a human's ability to take a bullet when she knew she was wrong. Even he couldn't do that yet.

Shaking his head, he replied "I'm not very easily offended...It didn't upset me, But I do understand what you're trying to say, I sort of like the thrill of an argument and with all those...hormones buzzing around inside sometimes you must need a good scrap over something." He shrugged, slipping his hands back into his pockets, If he had it correct, being a teenager was the hardest part of human life, so many things influenced their behavior and they could change in just seconds. "Everyone has times when they act out of character."

Like him for instance? Today he'd been quite placid and soothed, perhaps it was the whole 'made a friend' scenario he found himself in, Everything was new and he was so far out of his comfort zone he'd almost gone full circle and was back in it, He was quite pleased to be next to someone. His arm slowly coiled tighter around Sachiko's as he walked beside her, silently expressing that he wanted to be close. "What do you plan to do at the fesitval?" He asked. His ears were already ringing with the distant sounds coming from people's phones.

Sachiko Kobayashi

"THE POPULAR"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Age: Seventeen years old | Human | Mood: Excited | Currently: Walking back to the Hanami Festival

"Well, that's good!" she said, nodding her head in approval. "And you totally get what I'm saying, yeah!" She continued to nod her head, giving him a smile before she looked ahead. Now, they were almost at the festival. Just about two or so minutes to go; and they'd be able to return back to the fun festivities going on within.
Unlike Soushi, she was unable to hear all the phones of the people within, but she sure as heck could hear the music and laughter and the chatter from where they were walking from. Even through all the rain pounding down on her umbrella, and the splashes that their footsteps made, she could still hear the people within the festival. Not exact conversations, of course, but just the mumble-jumble of people conversing overall. Yep, the Hanami Festival sure was busy!
As she was about to make some light-hearted conversation, as they had been immersed in their own thoughts for a moment, Sachiko felt Soushi tighten his arm around her, as if he didn't want her to let go, or something. That suited Sachiko perfectly fine; for she enjoyed the company very much. "Mm, well," she thought aloud to his response. "I suppose I'll go try the fish catching game. There were some kids from before having a bit of trouble with catching them, so, I wanted to go and help. I also spotted a dango stall, and I know that we totally just ate and everything, but, hey- a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right?" She paused, thinking some more. "Then, there were these really adorable stuffed animals as prizes for the games, so, I want to try and win as many as I can!" She would've pumped her fist into the air, but, both arms were currently occupied at the moment. "After-all, I can be a pretty competitive person- and I must say, I'm actually not that bad at a lot of them- okay, fine, I'm actually pretty terrible at like one or two of them, but the rest I can usually manage alright." She smiled, her eyes moving over to his. "What about you? I'm totally into going into a competition with you; to see who can win the most animals." She grinned, her eyes sparkling in a playful manner. "I'm definitely pumped up for this. Doesn't matter, rain or shine- I can totally do this. And whoever wins, well, the winner can decide what they want the other to do as their prize."

(( Wow, this Post is so short that it's not even funny. Apologies! ))

Soushi thouht about such an offer. He'd never played any fair games before, he'd hardly played anything at all. His ego didn't want him to try it in case he lost, but at the same time he refused to let him deny a competition. Eventually he gave a gentle shrug, as not to yank her arm around and nodded "Sure...Don't get all upset when I win though." he replied before laughing heartily.

Though he wasn't exactly confident in what he said, He didn't want to lose and have her make him do something embarrassing, not that God's got embarrassed when performing human tasks, no matter what they were. He looked around at the people in the festival, momentarily admiring the things they played with, but reigning himself in before his viewing could get over zealous and he tried to swipe something in broad daylight.

That would be bad, Sachiko might try to report him to the police and he couldn't have the authorities sniffing around, Sweet mother if he was the one Deity that got them all found out he'd never hear the end of it, or at least he presumed he wouldn't, he didn't know any other Beings like him. He certainly hoped he could keep himself under control whilst he was out today, If Sachiko asked him out tomorrow he would have to politely decline and get some 'work' done. "But if you want to try your luck?"

Sachiko Kobayashi

"THE POPULAR"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Age: Seventeen years old | Human | Mood: Worried, nervous | Currently: Walking back to the Hanami Festival

"Oh?" Sachiko said, raising her eyebrow. "Is that a 'yes' to the challenge?" She gave him a smug smile, turning away from him to hide her expression. "Oh, we'll just see exactly who wins, now, shall we?" She knew that she was getting way too confident and cocky for her own good, but she felt like putting on a show for him. Besides, she really wanted to beat him; just to show him that although she was one small seventeen-year old, she could definitely whack some butt in festival games. It'd certainly be a riot if she won against him, and she wondered to herself just what she'd make him do should she win.
She didn't want to do anything ultimately humiliating or embarrassing, because that'd be just plain mean. She wanted to do something less on the cruel side, and more on the funny and entertaining side. Perhaps she'd come up with an idea soon, because as of right now, she was stuck with what she wanted him to do just in-case she won. She looked at him, scouring his features. Was he the type of guy that could easily win many festival games? Sachiko didn't want to judge a book by its cover, certainly, but she was sure that he could probably beat her at a couple of things. For example, his fingers were thin and wiry, making it seem to Sachiko that he could be quite nimble with his fingers- that being observed, he might be a good opponent during a shooting game. Oh, dear! What if he's good at the fish-catching game? she thought to herself. Sachiko was pretty much a pro at that game, as she loved to see how fast that she could pick up the fish and win prizes. She played it the most often at any festival that she went to, and usually left victorious. However, with Soushi? She was not sure at all. Maybe he would be a tough opponent to beat, but she was sure that she'd win at the ring-tossing game. She was fairly good at that, and had good hand-eye coordination. For some things, she was positive that she'd beat him, but with other things? She wasn't so sure, and that made her a little jittery inside. She didn't want to lose in-front of him; what if he made her do something completely silly such as shouting out loud about something that was her secret guilty pleasure (such as still cuddling up with her old stuffed animal at night that she owned since she was three), or if she had to streak around naked in the streets for a minute? Hey, she hardly knew the guy- she had absolutely no idea what was going around in his head.
As they were now pretty much within the festival, the rain still pouring down over their heads, Sachiko looked around, and spotted the first game up for grabs: scooping up a rubber ball in a tank of water.
Now, this sounded quite similar to the fish-catching game, but this time, the objects were inanimate. However, they were prone to moving quickly out of the way once one would dive down to get it because of its density and the way that it floated. Sachiko hadn't tried that game out before, but she poked Soushi once on the shoulder (she was doing a lot poking today, it seemed) and pointed to the game that hardly had a line for it (as there were three tanks available, and most people were more curious to watch than to try). "How's this for a first round?" she asked, looking at him. "To be fair, I haven't tried this before... but don't go easy on me." She approached the stall, lining up in the shortest line; which was for the middle tank. "Shall I go first?" To be honest, Sachiko wanted to see what everyone's strategies were regarding the game, and how they would choose to catch the ball, but it seemed like everyone was having a hard time. Basically, the object of the game, it seemed like, was to catch the floating coloured ball on a slightly curved paper plate. Of course, the plate being paper, it'd immediately get soaked and droop once in the water, so some sort of strategy or quick and steady hand movement had to be used in-order to catch the ball. It looked hard, and Sachiko was a little worried for this first challenge- however, she had to stay on-top of her game- so she stood up tall and straight, and patiently but anxiously waited for her turn, which was next in-line, if Soushi wanted her to go first.

Soushi seemed quite pleased when Sachiko accepted also, he had to admit he'd never participated in such a thing before and it excited him to no end. The thought of losing of course, crossed his mind but he was never one to dwell on his short comings. What shortcomings? He was quite confident on the twenty or so years he had senior to her, and that those alone would provide some sort of help in such simple things such as fair games.

He approached the newly named first challenge with some skepticism, it appeared some sort of knowledge or cunning would be used here, but he was happy to let the girl go first, that way if she did it well, he could imitate, if she did horribly, he would try to avoid her techniques. He watched those before them with a slight curiosity across his face, attempting to figure things out like a confuse puppy, his head tilted to one side as he watched the humans intently. What was the world coming to, why on earth was he watching humans as though they might be able to help him?

His eyes wandered of their own accord, he observed the shorter girl in front of him for a moment, he admired how she seemed so at ease here, she was sort of adorable in that sense of wonder she'd had in her eyes the entire day. He wasn't sure he'd ever felt like that, and that sort of hurt, he prided himself on being so much better than these lesser beings, but after actually talking and more importantly, listening to one, he was beginning to think about family and girls and just in general more human things, and he wasn't used to the unfamiliar pang of loneliness in his chest.

Soushi shook his head a little bit, stirring from his thoughts to try to focus on the task at hand. "You think you're good enough to win this?" He asked tauntingly, his voice quite low and smooth as he was almost right behind her anyways, perhaps he could distract her with thoughts of him, he'd have a better chance at winning. He was not above using dirty methods it seemed.

Sachiko Kobayashi

"THE POPULAR"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Age: Seventeen years old | Human | Mood: Flustered, disappointed | Currently: At the Hanami Festival

Sachiko nearly jumped at the sound of Soushi's voice. It sounded close, and sounded near.
Shifting herself backwards just a few millimetres, she could feel his presence- he was practically right behind her. His voice was lower than it sounded previously before, and it sounded smooth like a cat's purr. If she backed up any further, she was bound to run into his tall body.
Quickly bouncing forward, she tried to calm her racing heart. Why is he acting like that all of a sudden? she thought to herself, her thoughts running on overdrive. She placed her right hand on her heart, trying to calm it down by concentrating. But it was no use; for his simple question in that melodic tone of his got her face to heat up; if only for a second. What is he trying to do, seduce me, or something? Her heart was still racing quite heavily. Well, it's working, she thought dryly, not wanting to admit it. Darn it. His voice just struck a chord with her, with his voice that silky and smooth like chocolate. What with his handsome looks, what did this boy not have? Maybe the fact that he shouldn't seduce girls in such a manner... but that thought quickly drifted away, as she actually didn't mind it at all. The one thing that she was having an issue with, though, was the fact that he was making her feel this way. She shouldn't be feeling this way at all; considering the fact that she knew with all of her heart that he wasn't a match made in Heaven for her. If he was, then he'd be sweet and charming yet stubborn and flirtatious. Okay, maybe Soushi matched those last two things, but he still had to prove his sweetness and charmingness. "Charmingness"? That's not even a word, Sachiko. She would've slapped herself upside the head if he wasn't watching, but she was aware that she sounded like an idiot in her head.
Sachiko nodded her head firmly, not daring to turn around as she hugged herself. "Yes, yes. I think that if I put my mind to it, then I can definitely do it- just you watch." She muttered that last bit underneath her breath, but, in-all, she was responding to his question that he had asked in that voice of his. Darn it, Sachiko! Stop thinking about that! That was what the rational side of her brain was thinking. However, the other side of her brain was thinking, Sachiko, it's perfectly alright to linger on it. After-all, how often will he do that again to you? Sachiko had to find herself nodding at that one, but then she quickly shook herself out of it. Seriously! This is not the time to be thinking of things like this! I have a competition with him, so, no type of seducing should occur! Unfortunately for her, she still didn't realize that that was Soushi's plan all along; to distract her with his voice. She still wasn't catching on, but, right now, it was too late, as it was now her turn in-line.
The person in-front of her had turned away, a look of disappointment featured in their dark brown eyes as they walked out of the area, their back slouching just the slightest. Obviously, the game looked like it took its toll on the poor guy.
Swallowing, Sachiko peered down at the tank, eyeing the rubber ball with fierceness and intensity. Alright! I can totally do this!
Rolling up her sleeves and tying back her hair in a cute, small ponytail (since her hair was short), she hurried and gave the stall owner ten yen for five paper plates (which was a deal, and, in-other words, five tries) from her pocket. Cradling four of the plates in her left arm, she lifted the first plate into the air, watching the ball as it bobbed to and 'fro. Alright... here goes!
She swiftly swept her plate in, reaching for the ball, and quickly swept it back out.
She expected to see the ball on the plate, sitting there perfectly like it should have... but, that did not happen.
"Oh, c'mon. Are you serious?" she mumbled to herself. The plate was soaked through, dripping wet, and the ball was still sitting there in the tank innocently. It had only moved the slightest, yet Sachiko had been positive that she had reached the ball.
No worries, I can try again!
Tossing the first plate into the garbage can by the right of the tank, she swept out the second plate. This time... this time I can do it! Her eyes were glued on the ball at an intense rate that the stall owner was surprised that she hadn't exploded the ball with the fierce staring that she was doing. Here... I... go!
She swept the plate in at a different angle than before, and then pulled it out about a micro-second faster than the first time. "Did I do it?" she asked herself, her eyes landing on the plate... to see that it was wet again, and there was no ball to be seen on it. "Oh, fishcakes." she muttered to herself, groaning on the inside. This is going to be a looooong competition.
After trying for what seemed like an hour, Sachiko had effectively spent one-hundred and fifty yen, as she went through them like hotcakes. She was panting by the end of it, and ultimately disappointed. Out of all the money that she spent, and all the plates that she had used, she had only managed to scoop up two rubber balls. The garbage can was practically overflowing.
The stall owner, probably feeling bad for her, had said that getting two was a "great accomplishment", as people usually tended to either get zero or one. That made her feel a little better, but she was hoping that she'd be able to at-least get like ten, or something.
Sighing, she admitted her defeat and stood to the side, letting Soushi go ahead and do his thing. Having good sportsmanship, Sachiko mumbled, "Good luck." She was tempted to look away, but she stared straight into his honey-brown eyes, which seemed warmer than usual- or was that because she was still obsessing over his extremely wonderful voice? Sachiko... really? You're still going on about that? she thought to herself. "Oh, quiet." she just murmured, her eyes piercing into his as her arms crossed.

Perhaps that hadn't been fair. Perhaps Soushi should stop using this newly acquired conscience of his. It was not acceptable to feel pity for her in a competition, he'd done nothing wrong and it wasn't his fault humans were so easily swayed. In the future he would have to remind himself of this trick, it might work again. In all honesty he didn't think Sachiko would fall for it, she was a smart girl, but apparently cute boy's could do that to a girl, if human media was even the slightest bit accurate anyways.

He watched with an intent gaze as she went about her turn at the tank, taking in what she did well and what needed improvement so he could do better than her. When she turned he looked up at her and back into her eyes, his own had indeed gone soft, though under what influence he wasn't sure. "Thank you, But I'm not sure I need it." He replied, though this time the cockiness in his tone was purely playful, he didn't want to seem like he was teasing her, because for once he really wasn't.

He slowly approached the tank and pulled his coat's sleeves up to his elbows -so they wouldn't get wet- and revealed his rather pale thin arms, matching the rest of his feminine frame. He set about things rather scientifically at first, attempting to use his brain rather than just brute force or instinct. He tried to chase the ball to a corner so it would have no other place to go other than his paper plate.

But it didn't work, and he quickly grew frustrated and lost his cool, managing only to successfully capture the ball a single time until he'd run out of go's and looked down at Sachiko, defeated "Alright so the first round went to you..." He mumbled "But I've not go much experience with water." That much was true, he tried to steer clear of bodies of water and so he didn't full understand how it worked, he bathed of course but it was too dangerous for his technology to go near water.

Sachiko Kobayashi

"THE POPULAR"

Age: Seventeen years old | Human | Mood: Patient, pondering | Currently: At the Hanami Festival

Sachiko felt a sigh of relief escape her lips once she found out that she had won the round. Sachiko, 1, Soushi, 0, she thought to herself. However, she was a good sportsmanship, so she said, "But good job!" A smile graced her features. "That was good, considering the fact that most people don't even get one on the plate. So you're on the high-end of the winner's circle!" She grinned, giving him a friendly facial expression before she turned and looked around. "Well, since I picked this one... would you like to pick the next challenge? The fun games are scattered all around this place, so, just take your pick. And you can probably see them better, since you're taller than me." She laughed a bit, scratching the back of her head. "Any of them look interesting to you?"
As Sachiko waited for his answer, she did a quick bit of people-watching.
There were elderly people, adults, teenagers, children, babies, animals... the festival was a place for everyone; no matter what you looked like or how old you were. Everyone was welcome, and the whole atmosphere of it just made people feel like they were simply at home. It was simply a good festival meant for everlasting memories, and everything that accompanied it only accentuated it more. The background music that played on the speakers attached to the lamp-posts were soft and melodic, and enhanced the feeling of togetherness and a sense of familiarness. The familiarity came from all the times that Sachiko had been to the festival, as it rendered many good memories for her, and it just made her feel happy. It was certainly lovely, to be in a space where one could feel right at peace (save earlier before when she first arrived).
After all of the rounds were complete, what would the pair of them do? Would they go on their separate ways, never to speak again? Would they get each other's numbers and meet up again sometime in the future? Sachiko really didn't know, and it really made her wonder. She looked up at him, her eyes looking up at him in some sort of determination. She really didn't know what happened inside of his head, so she'd always be surprised if he said something completely out of the blue. It seemed like he didn't hate her, so, really, would it be so bad if they met up again? Sachiko certainly hoped that it wouldn't be bad. As well, she felt that she wouldn't mind hanging out with him again. It was certainly a... riveting experience. Just the thought of it made her laugh softly, and she patiently waited for his response to her question.

(( Once again, apologies for the late response! and short response, gah. Hope you're doing good! ))

Soushi seemed slightly offended by her comment, but he remained silent about it for once as he righted himself and peered around the festival like some form of rodent. He nibbled at his bottom lip, unable to find anything that look particularly challenging. He wanted something hard, or rather hard for her and easy for him.
Unable to find anything in that category, he tried to find something so easy he had to win, or they would at least draw. He tilted his head, looking confused. Slowly, and Silently he took a hold on Sachiko's hand and gave her a tug in his direction.

He then pulled her away towards one of the other stands, one with various little targets set up on a conveyor , with plastic orange guns that fired corks lined up along the front. "How about that?" He suggested, he was quite confident in his keen Deity senses, that his aim would be better than hers, and if not there were stuffed Panda bears on offer for those who could shoot down more than five targets, if she won one of those it might take her mind off gloating over two wins in a row.

His honey colored eyes scanned over her expression for a moment, before he jumped and released her wrist, fingers curling into a nervous fist, hoping he hadn't pulled her too much or injured her.He didn't think that she really deserved that. Normally he wouldn't care, but after even such a short time talking to her, Sachiko had managed what no other human had.

It seemed like Soushi had come to a decision; and, rather than voicing it out loud, he chose to take her hand in his and lead her towards the destination.
Sachiko looked down at their hands, and felt the tiniest and practically unnoticeable blush form on her cheeks. After-all, she had tugged on his hands quite a bit today, so, it didn't faze her nearly as much as she would've thought. And besides, they were just merely holding hands so that they wouldn't get lost in the crowd, right? She looked down at their hands again, mindful of her steps. His hand was rough, but it surprisingly didn't hurt her skin at all. Soushi's hand was also extremely more cold than other's hands that she had held before, but she once again figured that it was because he had different body temperatures than other people that she knew. She hadn't yet closed her hand around his, yet, as she was unsure as to how he'd react to that. As well as that, his hand was wrapped around his wrist, she noticed, not her hand. For some odd reason, she found herself a little disappointed at that fact, but she quickly shook it away. This was no time to be worrisome about that. It wasn't even as if they were dating.
Then, as quickly as it had happened, Soushi quickly dropped his hand from her wrist, as if he had been electrocuted, or something. Sachiko frowned, looking up at him, her eyes searching his before she placed her hands together, fidgeting a little.
There was an awkward little pause as she looked to the side, then off to the game, where the stall game owner was looking over at them expectantly. Obviously, he thought that they were there to play the game, not to gawk at it in a weird manner.
Quickly shaking her head from her tiny space-out, Sachiko turned to Soushi. "You go first, since I went first last time." She took this time to look at the game once more. The targets that they were to shoot were placed on a moving conveyor belt, which might be hard for her. Yes, she was actually quite good with her hand-eye coordination, but she hadn't tried this version of the game where the targets were moving. Usually, they were just still; like knocking over cans, or shooting bulls-eye targets on the wall. Nope, this one was different, and she spent her time scrutinizing it and trying to figure out the best way to shoot the targets without missing horrendously. She needed to figure out the timing, and, once she figured that out, she'd have an at-least easier time shooting the targets. The game looked a little hard, she had to admit, but she wouldn't give up. She'd keep on trying until her turn was over.
