I look at the grounder with a frown. She thought I was being nice? I was actually acting like a jerk, being rude and scoffing every other sentence. My mother would have my head if she saw me acting like this.

Persephone listened as he spoke with a confused expression, his words were clear but confusing. He spoke funny, she simply blinked her eyes at him casually and smiled a bit. "And whose fault is that?" I ask her with an eye roll. She got quiet suddenly so I looked down to see her wide gray eyes looking at me. "What?" I asked suddenly aware how close she was. Persephone was panicking now more than ever, realizing how stupid she was to think he was taking her home...especially since he didn't know where that was. Now all she cared about was figuring out how she would escape, she wouldn't be able to do it until she got her wound taken care of, and they would no doubt want to interrogate her. I just blinked at his hand. What just happened? What did he say? Seeing his hand outstretched towards me, I brushed off the startled feeling and took it. She was saying that now? I let out a defeated sigh, but continue walking towards the camp. "I can't do that. I don't know where your camp is, and if I go and ask someone who know and would be willing to take you; you would be dead from blood loss. I can't let that happen." Well, she probably already knew where our camp was since we stuck out like a sore thumb but I should have been careful. Suddenly a idea popped into my head. "Can you be quiet?" I asked looking down at Persephone. "Can you act like a mute? I'll say that you didn't say anything when I found you and that you were too weak to fight back...." It was true she was too weak to fight back but I shouldn't be doing this. Why was I doing this? All that has happened so far with grounders was them trying to kill us. I should have left her back there...but I knew I couldn't.
