Nicholas Storm - Male - 31 - Breton - Winterhold/College Gate - Tagged: Altavia
It became painfully aware to the Breton mage that Altavia began to grow impatient with him slowly. Or, rather quickly, considering how long they'd known each other. Which was less than an hour. Nicholas cleared his throat and followed along silently behind the other mage as they approached the gate. The walk to the gate took mere minutes, though the last thing either of them expected was for a High Elf to greet them. Altavia tucked herself away behind Nicholas, which would've been far more difficult had it been the other way around. The Altmer gave a brief introduction of herself as gatekeeper for the College and informed them to show their intentions. "Display our intentions? What, are we supposed to give you a demonstration of our magical talents to prove that we are indeed not Nord extremists in disguise?" It sounded silly putting it that way, but the Altmer remained unamused. "If you must put it so crudely, then yes, that is exactly what I expect from you." Nicholas scoffed in disbelief. "How ridiculous. How many mages, how many potential students do you turn away with this? People come to you and this College to learn, and it is not within your right to deny them that. We are here to learn, not to prove ourselves worthy in the eyes of a skeptical Mer. Now, may we enter the College?" There was a sharpness to the mage's tone, but his tongue spoke words of gold. The gatekeeper left out a small "hmph" but stepped aside. "Fine, you may pass, but I will keep my eye on the two of you." She sneered an unspoken threat. Nicholas held her gaze and kept his cool, gently moving Altavia along ahead of him. "See Mirabelle Ervine once you enter the College. She will complete your introduction." The Breton nodded and started up the path to the college with the other, Faralda following along from behind. "Sorry about that," Nick murmured quietly to Altavia as they walked, taking note of the rather broken path they walked upon. "There was no reason we should have to prove ourselves just to enter."
