Jason was trying to collect as many of the arrows he could find. The arrows were beautiful pieces of work, and maybe he could salvage them and see what made them different from his own. He stood up, stretched, and headed back to his tent to put the five or six arrows in excellent condition onto a table. He turned around hearing a voice.

"Artillator? The Captain wishes to see you so that you can give a report to the queen." Jason nodded before speaking up.

    "Ah. Yes. Where is he?"

"In the main hall. He would like you to come as soon as you can." Jason nodded. He wasn't doing anything of real importance, so he quickly strode to the main hall to find Raoden and the queen speaking. He approached, slightly nervous. He wasn't very good with royalty, he tended to stumble over his works and add way too many 'ums' in his sentences.

"Hello, um, your majesty. Hello Captain. You wanted me to join you?" Jason asked, bowing his head respectfully at the queen. He was wringing his hands slightly, trying not to show that he was majorly nervous. He always feared he was doing something wrong when near royalty, or even near the Captain. It really annoyed him most of the time.

❀--Aria Mier
elf ❀ healer ❀ water ❀ Faelyn; Elwen
_________________________________________________________

Aria stumbled back, catching her breath as Faelyn clawed at the air, her normally serious eyes wild and unseeing. "Faelyn? Faelyn! It's me, Aria! You are safe now!" Oh, how Aria wish she could heal the wounds tearing Faelyn apart from the inside. To treat physical pain was one thing, but emotional pain was something that had to be solved through coping and dealing with fear. Only Faelyn could do that. Stroking Faelyn's cheek, Aria propped the other elf upgainst the trunk of a tree, trying to coax her into opening her eyes. "Faelyn?" Aria repeated, brushing away some stray moss and leaves. "Faelyn, it will be alright."

Pulling water from the river, Aria healed some of the minor abrasions to Faelyn's face and limbs. The elf was severely damaged, but Aria wasn't sure if the pain she was most obviously experiencing was from physical torment or the memory of a battle. But Aria didn't feel like she should ask yet, so she kept cleaning and healing, trying to remedy the immediate threat of the situation.

"The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can"

Aria sang the poem softly as she worked, her voice clear and beautiful through the tenseness of the air. When she worked in the apothecary, she always enchanted her harp to play, soothing the patients. Perhaps if she could create the same sort of effect with her voice, Faelyn would calm down. Aria just hated to see her friend in such pain and not be able to do anything.

➸--Raoden Marx
human ➸ captain of the guard ➸ Jason; Elyana
_________________________________________________________

Wringing his hands to gather, Raoden stood up, about to speak, but breathed a sigh of relief when Jason came bombing in. Now they could give both sides of the report, and maybe Elyana wouldn't be so angry at their collective failure. "We were attacked, several hours ago, My Queen. A dire wolf under the control of one elf. But as we both know, where there is one, there are many, and a rescue party quickly appeared, all encompassing about eleven elves on Verbroné soil."

Raoden paced the hall, nervously recounting the events as they happened. He left out some of the parts about Elwen being in the tent, figuring that Jason could bring more detail if the queen asked. Telling of the fight with Faelyn was hard, but Raoden told the truth of how he had been stabbed, but then worked with the elf to kill the dire wolf. "It was a noble animal, Your Highness, and it died with honor. But the conflict today was his doing, and we should not react too harshly against the elves," he continued, watching carefully for her reaction.

Raoden ended by speaking of how he had willingly let Elwen go. "Too many men were dead. It was one elf, and she was in steep trouble with her own people. I can promise that she does not have any information that could harm us in this war. Though it may seem different, this was not a battle lost, nor a battle won for either side. Today, we saw wanton violence, and I regret all of it." Raoden rubbed the bandage on his side, sighing from the pain. What he needed was a good long sleep, but he would have to face Elyana's judgement first.

What if she sends us out on the offense? Raoden thought tiredly. He didn't think he could handle more fighting, not today, not this week. This war took it's toll on each person differently, and on Raoden, it made him seem years older than his true self. Raoden was a diplomatic man; he wanted to settle down someday with a nice woman, and not have horror stories to tell his children about a war he couldn't hope to win. Hoping Elyana understood this, he waited patiently for her to speak, fearing the worst, but hoping for the best.

He could feel the pain and agony from his throne that his warriors had suffered. He could feel the horrible pain felt by that of his captain Faelyn, he could feel the traitor, the imbolsule that had risked their life and their people to sought out a lost cause because of some wolf. Levos was more than annoyed, he was angry. He stared blankly at the throne room in front of him as he sat on his legendary chair and felt the vines and power of nature course through his veins into the room. He breathed out and let the marble floor sprout shoots of grass, and roots breaking the surface of the grass, his power flowed out and a large, dangerous serpent followed by his mighty elk strode confidently across the ground and snorted at the guards. Surprisingly the guards did not flinch or move from their post as the elk inspected them, they move a little when the large serpent made its way towards them but with a wave of Levos' hand he sent the creatures back to the area they stayed.

The fire elf opened her eyes slightly at the sound of Aria's voice, she felt a soft hand touching her cheek; Aria's she repeated comforting words. Faelyn suddenly felt herself drifting back into the eternal darkness but she refused and opened her eyes a little more. She saw the river and then the forest that surrounded them. She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out except a dry cough, she looked to her right to see the kingdom of Cymbiir, and then she looked to her left to see the river that lays around the kingdom and then a soft melody came from in front of her and she weakly turned her head to face Aria with half closed eyes and smile slightly. Relief washed over Faelyn. The carnage that happened in her mind wasn't real, it felt real but it wasn't. Faelyn groaned and shifted her back against the tree and felt her eyelids grow heavy, the song Aria sung rang in her ears.

"How long have I been out?" she asked forcing the words out of her mouth. She felt her eyelids grow heavy but she held them open, she moved forward to get onto her feet but stopped when she felt a dull ache in her shoulder and chest. Faelyn moved her legs stretching them in and out, her once injured leg didn't hurt at all, she couldn't feel any pain except for the pain in her shoulder and chest. She took a deep breath in and tilted her head back and let it rest against the tree she was leaning against, the images of battle and what had occurred still fresh in her mind. "How are my men? How many injured?" she asked, once again forcing the words out of her.

(Sorry for the inactivity guys!)
Queen Lauriel

Hearing the thundering of many feet, Lauriel could tell that her men had returned. She stood up and went to the window of her study, and inhaled sharply. There was not a so,died who did not have an injury, and although she could tell that they had had victory by their expressions, there was the unmistakable feeling that this battle should not have happened. The Queen left her study and went swiftly through the halls and out of the doors, and approched the returning forces. When she spied Failyn badly injured, and Aria bending over her, singing quietly, she turned away from the other troops and approched them. She saw Failyn open her eyes, and although her face didn't show it, Lauriel was relived, but still angry that a dire wold caused this battle. "Will she be alright?" She asked Aria, keeping her voice calm with the ease of long practice.

QUEEN ELYANA
━━━━━━━ of verbroné ━━
holy queen, mother of mercy

sex: female
age: twenty eight years
rank: queen

━━━━━━━━━━
Elyana was surprised when Jason rushed into the room but nevertheless she kept a straight face, watching as the man nervously bowed. At least he had shown her the respect she deserved, which could not be said for the Captain of the Guard. Raoden had stood when she arrived, but he had not bowed to her. He might be tired, and he might have a slight wound on the side, but he was still capable of bowing. Biting down on the inside of her cheek to stop herself from saying anything, the queen held her hands together in front of her and listened to the report. Many years at court had trained Elyana not to let her emotions show even the slightest on her face and she called on these skills now as the news got worse and worse. In someone else's eyes - her husband's, mayhaps - the battle not being won or lost was a blessing. As Raoden said, many men had died; 'too many' in his opinion. In the queen's opinion, many more could and would die before this was over, and they would die gladly, for they would exterminate every single elf they could. It would be done and it would be done well.

By the end of the report, Elyana was inwardly fuming. Not only had an elf started an attack on her kingdom, but more elves had soon followed and then Raoden had seen fit to let the creature get away with her crimes. He might have killed the direwolf that had started the day's skirmish, but it was apparent that he had not acted on her orders - it looked like he hadn't received them, so she'd have to have a word with the guard she'd dispatched to the battle, as long as he was still alive - and instead had acted on his instincts in the middle of the fighting. That was all well and good, but it was commonplace to take hostages, not let your enemy go. Pulling in her anger the best she could, Elyana thought carefully. What he said was true; many men had died. It would be good to strike while the enemy was weak, to not give them a chance to regather properly and recover, but the queen was not careless. Her own army needed to be in the best condition and right now they were not, especially her captain of the guard. Raoden would be leading the fighting if she sent her soldiers out and right now he looked as sick as a dog. She herself could not go, and her king was hardly a fitting choice. They would have to wait.

"Did you not receive my orders?" The woman eventually asked, meeting the man's eyes fully. "I sent a man with the orders to kill the direwolf and take as many hostages as possible." With every syllable it was becoming clearer and clearer just how angry Elyana was, her tone rising. Her fists also started to clench at her sides, nails digging into her palms. "I have no care of any secrets she could spill: there was no time for her to learn any. Do you know why we take hostages? To get information from them. I need information on Cymbiir to win this war." How could he be so foolish? He was meant to be intelligent enough to act without her orders in the right manner: did she have to hold his hand and lead him along like a child? He was meant to be able to formulate battle strategies and work with her, yet instead by letting the elves go he had shown her that he was working against her. Was he a traitor? "I should strip you of your rank and your head," she hissed, wishing she had a sword on her person so she could do it herself, "yet even that would be too good for you." Oooh, she'd love to remove his head for him. Turning away, the queen now set her gaze on Jason. "Artillator!" She snapped, stepping closer to the man. "Where were you while this was happening?"

Jason wanted to whimper slightly. He was downright terrified of the queen when she got into these moods, and they made him extremely flustered and nervous. His hand wringing became much more nervous and obvious as he opened his mouth.

"Ah, well, um, you see, your highness, uh, I mean your majesty, I heard the skirmish when I was working, and, um, well, you know I'm not too good with, um, dealing with this sort of thing, so, um, uh, I stayed inside my tent, and, err, um, well, I was asked for some rope to bind Elwen--the elf--with, and, uh, I provided it. So, um, basically, yeah... I kept her in, um, my tent, but she managed to, err, uh, undo Sophia's knots--and you know how good Sophia ties her knots--but that happened after, uh, I looked out and saw Faelyn--the captain of their, um, guard--and, err," By this time, Jason was trying to hide the fact he was sweating, both mentally and in real life. "Well, Elwen told me that, uh, Faelyn could keep, um, err, fighting even in her massively, um, wounded state, and they, um, sort of went off, and, uh, we let them because we didn't want to see anymore blood shed...?" He finished, his voice getting a little higher pitched, nervous, and faster at the end. He trailed off, stared at his feet, trying not to feel so massively intimidated.

"I would have thought that one of you could have had some sense. I can see that is not the case. I must be surrounded by halfwits." How could it be that her men were so stupid that none of them would have thought to take hostages? It was common sense. Did they not understand how dangerous this war was, how urgent and needed information was on their enemy? Did they not understand that tow win this war they had to have every single scrap of knowledge they could get their hands on? The elves time was coming to an end and, as much as Elyana hated to admit it, she needed as many men as she could get to complete the task. That included the two idiots in front of her, unfortunately. She'd have to put up with them for a while yet: Haigh was her Artillator, and he was good at that job. Right now she needed arrows, and plenty of them. He was the best at making them, and could do it quickly, too. She needed him here, to make arrows. And Marx, she needed him too. He was the Captain of the Guard, and a good one too, despite his very obvious flaws. Well, maybe her anger would help him learn. Maybe next time he'd think about this lesson and take as many hostages he could, no matter his own opinion. When a queen orders something you complete it, she snarled to herself, stepping away from Jason so she could look at them both.

She could have laughed at the sight of Jason. He was paler than snow and a thin sheen of sweat was clearly visible on his brow. Did her presence and her anger really make her that formidable, that terrifying to a grown man? He has seen nothing. If I were a man I would have given him much more cause to be frightened. It gave her a strange, almost sick amount of pleasure to know the effect she had on him. But she could not gloat: there were more important things to think about. "Raoden, I want you to send men out. We need as many men recruited as possible. Press them into it if you must; they will fight for their kingdom or they will die in their sleep. Do want you must: tell them lies, get them drunk, steal them away in the night. Appoint someone to train them. You may have disappointed me, but I still need men." The queen turned and began to walk away, heading towards the doorway when she paused. "If you ever fail in your duty again I will not be so lenient. Do not disappoint me, Marx."

There was no need to give Jason any orders. What he did for her was what he had done all his life, and he knew he craft better than she did. Hopefully he would have the common sense enough to work out that, along with new men she would need more arrows. Surely he was not so stupid he could not work that out.

нєияι яαѕ¢σ
King of Vebrone

Henri stood alone in a small chamber, high in the castle. He was watching the end of the battle with pain in his eyes. So much fighting. So much death. What was it all for? Revenge? Pride? Nothing good. He sighed, turning away from the window and running a hand through his shortish hair. If he had his way, he would try to understand the elves, and possibly restore their previous good relations. Elyana, though, would rather kill them all. Who was he to argue with her? They were attacking his kingdom, after all, even if the humans had technically started it. He wondered what his wife was up to at the moment. She was always doing something she deemed important. He found it especially entertaining when she painted with such passion he thought she might be killing someone. She had stopped doing that of late. Too many actually important things to do. He missed her slightly less driven moments. He neared the throne room, rolling his eyes with a smile as he heard her roaring at someone. She always used a bit more volume than he would. But these were her affairs, after all. Who was he to judge? He slipped into a back hallway, watching her interactions from a door in the corner of the room.

ELWEN LUNA
elven warrior - 50+ - Nature magic
Palace - with King Levos

The she - elf approached the kingdom with pride. Inside, Elwen had nothing left, sadness and anger boiled in her heart, and she tightened her jaw. Walking through the main area, all looked at her, disgust on their faces, and some showed awe. Blood stained her hands, and she raised her chin in the air, no expression, as she went towards the stables. Putting her hood over her head, the smaller elf showed Rowan to his stall "You be good now... Ballad..." Her voice was gentle elfish, and she mumbled a few words under her breath to the horses. Her strong connection with her horse showed, and she placed her forehead to his, her eyes closed, a bright and saddened smile on her face. The horse sighed gently, as if to comfort her, and trotted into the stall. The stables were a gentle place of old, and she could hear Ballad and Rowan's conversation about Faelyn and the battle. With one last glance from the door, Elwen shut it, without one sound. Sighing deeply, she went back to the entrance of the palace.

Walking through the palace, she unsheathed her blades, and cleaned them with a guard's towel that was presented to her. No blood remained on any of her weapons, and she sheathed them, making her look better organized in the king's presence. Swiftly, she was told of her expected presence, "You've been expected, Elwen Luna." Said many guards, very blandly. Showing a nod of elegance, she made herself look presentable, a strict and emotionless look on her face. Her hair was perfect, as usual, and had tints of red blood and dirt. Nothing looked out of order on the elven warrior, and she patted herself off, no dirt remaining. She was much like a ranger, and everyone knew this. No emotion hung in her eyes, but pride swelled in her body. Her hips swayed at every step, one foot went gracefully in front of the other, and she kept her hands by her side, loosely, and held her glare at the door to the throne room. She didn't await for the doors to be pushed open for her, instead, she pushed them open herself, the large doors making a loud sound as she did so. Walking down the middle, she lowered her chin, and her hips still swayed in a walk.

Her large strides were noticeable, and her boots make a clacking noise on the floor bellow her, as she followed the center of the grand room. As she approached the king, her right arm went to waist level, and the left went on her back, parallel from her right. She bowed, gently, and her curly hair dangled from her shoulders. "Your Majesty." Her voice was a gentle melodic tone, yet it was mocking and sarcastic. Rising, she stayed at her spot, about twenty paces from the throne. No expression was shown in her face, and her face was straight, but still beautiful. Standing tall, her legs spread to her shoulder width apart. Her hands resorted to cupping inside each other, in front of her.

He waited for her, his fingers tapping in an hypnotic rhythm as he awaited the one elf that had caused such chaos and destruction between the two kingdoms. She walked through with an emotionless face but her body told another story. She kept her head held high and her strides long, a clear sign that she was proud. Proud at the fact she caused such chaos, proud at the fact she had gotten a rare creature killed, proud at the fact many of her people, including her friend and Captain of the Guard severely hurt. Levos eyed the girl with his dangerous blue eyes as she bowed, speaking her sarcastic greeting with the utter most grace and sarcasm. Levos watched as she adjusted herself to standing a firm ground, he knew she would put up a fight.

He held up his hand and the guards left the room and stood outside the door on standby. Levos shifted and leant forward to inspect the girl, she had a warriors body for sure, and she was as beautiful as any fair elven lady. "Such a shame..." he started his voice slow, long and melodic as most elven voices are, "You were a great warrior in your time Elwen but now, you are broken and have created such destruction and chaos to this kingdom and Verbroné's." he finished getting out of his chair and slowly walked down towards her. He had his hands behind his back in a loose grasp as one of his hands held onto his wrist. Vines and plants appeared on the sidewall of the stairway as he made it to ground floor. "Please give me, your report on what has happened." he asked, standing, watching her from the base of the stairway his blue eyes boring into hers. He couldn't be bothered with Telerin, he just wanted this over and done with as quick and smoothly as possible.
