Levos entered his castle, he had recently remade and made stronger the nature, enchanted wall; the Forest that surrounded and protected his kingdom. He had done it with precision and in secrecy, no guards had followed him or citizens. Levos strode confidently down the halls of his kingdom towards his throne room. He waved his hand and shot out a vine towards the room opening it and then closing it after he entered. The guards bowed and acknowledged him as 'Your Majesty' and he simply waved a hand to dismiss this. He tugged on his gown and flicked back his long silvery blonde hair before sitting proudly on his throne awaiting his captain and the elf who had caused so much trouble to return.

It was like a dagger through her heart as she watched the dire wolf die, he seemed somewhat peaceful as Raoden ended his crusade and his bloodshed. Faelyn sniffed and quickly wiped away her tears seeing that Raoden himself had tears. He is a true warrior she thought and a pang of guilt hit her gut. She could tell from the expresssion on this man's face that he was a truly compassionate person who happens to be a fierce warrior as well. She shook her head and wiped her bloodied face with her hands, sheating her sword she hobbled over to Raoden and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you," she said bowing her head slightly, she had true thanks in her eyes, warrior to warrior, creature to creature. She could of never killed the dire wolf, she would of let him killed her but she couldn't she needed to lead the warriors. Shooting a fireball into the sky she shouted in the elven tongue for her warriors to stop fighting and return to their steeds outside the castle to where she would meet them. Blood still poured from her wounds, especially the one on her shoulder and chest, luckily the one on her thigh had healed slightly binding the skin together to stop the bleeding but it still hurt.

Faelyn was about to pay respects to the dire wolf when she saw rage and sorrow filled Elwen walk shakily out of the castle to her fallen comrade. Faelyn stiffened at her words and at the fact vines where creeping up from behind the nature manipulating elf. "I'm so sorry Elwen," she breathed walking over to the elf as she spoke in their tongue.

It hurt. It hurt to see her friend in such a sad way, it hurt to see her friend dead at her knees. Faelyn came towards Elwen ignoring the pounding in her head and the ache of her wounds, she placed a hand on her comrade's shoulder before letting a few tears run down her race. "May this divine creature rest in peace and may it's soul sail the waves of the ocean, fly in the wind, and live as wild as the world we live in," she said in the elven tongue, sniffing at the end. She tightened her grip on Elwen's shoulder and bent down grasping her elbow to ease her onto her feet. "We must go before the Queen demands our deaths," she whispered in her ear.

ELWEN LUNA
[b]elven warrior - 50+ - Nature magic
near the human stronghold - with Faelyn, Raoden

Shaking gently, with anger and sadness, she rose up. Showing no sign of emotion but the tears that stained her face, she gulped her sadness down and looked at them both, no emotion in her eyes. The shorter elven girl now looked at the wolf, a smaller tear rolling down her face before she walked out of the door. Her hips and body swayed as one foot went in front of the other, crossing her leg that was stepping. Standing tall, a human guard went to stop her, and with one swipe of her nearest dagger, she made him fall to the ground, no expression holding her face. "Exclude me the speech, Faelyn.". Her body swung around as her hair gracefully danced back as she stood "I will get enough from King Levos, and I know you all look forward to that." Both were in elven tongue, and she raised her chin as she spoke, swinging back around and glaring at the two.

"I will take my leave, thank you for your... Hospitality." The snap of her voice as she said hospitality was not mistaken. She seemed to look stronger, but more.. blank to them all. Starting to be grabbed by a guard as she turned around towards the exit. Shrugging them off and about breaking one's arm, she pushed them away from her and started on the road "Faelyn, I'm awaiting you." And with a a sudden stop, she looked back at the elven captain.

"Sometimes it feels like she only does it to make me mad. She always does this, and my brother gets so much more freedom than I! It's not fair!" I protested angrily, my skin heating up uncomfortably with my anger. I glared at the tree, then at the ground, refusing to admit that Aria was partially right.

"Maybe she should give a little more ground. I've given so much ground on this argument, and she's never even given me an inch! This really isn't fair!" It felt good to get this out of my system, but I realized I was sounding really childish. I stopped talking, took a deep breath, and closed my eyes. I counted to ten slowly, allowing myself to calm down.

"I'm sorry," I apologized. "I'm behaving like a child. I guess I just want her to recognize I'm not a helpless person who needs constant supervision. I want her to treat me like someone who can take care of themselves--which I can." I said, keeping my voice level.

"Uh, well, um..." I said, sort of shocked. Sophia tied very, very good knots, and the elf in front of me had managed to undo them. I stood there in shock for about half a second, my eyes fixated on a recurve bow in the back of the tent before I snapped out of it. I raced out of the tent after her and stopped closer to Raoden before speaking.

"I didn't have anything to do with her escaping! Well, mostly! Sir! How did she undo Sophia's knots?" The last comment was directed more towards myself than him, and it was quieter than the rest of the words. "Uh, and the queen's going to kill us for just letting them leave without, uh, you know, capturing at least one of them... And I really like my head! Um, sir," I added on as an afterthought. My mind was definitely off somewhere and I didn't really feel like myself. A yawn escaped me and I realized that lack of sleep was probably not helping me focus, nor was it helping me think straight.

❀--Aria Mier
elf ❀ healer ❀ water ❀ Ara
_________________________________________________________

Ara nodded slowly at the princess's words. She thought about what it would be like to have someone care for her so deeply that it smothered her, and sighed quietly. It must be nice. They sat in silence for a minute, each girl wallowing in their own problems. After a while, Aria heard the whinnying of horses in the distance. "That must be the rescue party!" she said, her thoughts pulling back together with a snap. "I should be with them, checking for injuries."

Climbing down from the tree, Aria looked back up to Ara and smiled. "I hope you get what you wish for, Ara," she said. "I believe that anyone able to scale a tree with such ease is ready for independence." Turning to Aeglos, who had been quietly grazing through Aria's entire conversation, Aria swung atop the white mare and headed towards the tree line, waiting for the party of elves. What if Faelyn's dead? Or Elwen? Aria thought, her breath coming in short gasps from the sprint through the woods. Aria, calm. Everything will be fine, in the end, she told herself, rubbing her arms in the chill of the air. And if everything's not fine, you will just need to redefine 'fine.'

➸--Raoden Marx
human ➸ captain of the guard ➸ Elwen; Jason; Faelyn
_________________________________________________________

Raoden saw Elwen run out from the fortress and worried momentarily about Jason. He reminded himself to check on the weapon smith after he made sure all of the elves left Verbroné. Ah, but I guess that will have to wait until after I'm finished with the Queen. Raoden winced slightly at the thought. He would rather face a pack of dire wolves every day for a week then speak one on one with his queen. Raoden was not one to show much fear, but he, as was the usual with most of the soldiers, would freely admit that he was terrified of the queen. And though the king seemed not to see it, the people of Verbroné knew the power that the woman held, and would continue to hold for many years. Raoden turned to check on the elves, but started in surprise as Jason walked up to him. "You're alright! It must have been her magic then," he said. "Because no human I've ever seen has been able to escape Sophia's rope work." Raoden rubbed his neck, swallowing at the thought of facing the Queen's guillotine. "We'll have to tell Elyana the truth. This fight had a rather unusual set of circumstances."

Raoden watched as Elwen and Faelyn quickly conversed in fluent Telerin. Though his ears didn't pick up the meaning, the inflections told him that the words from Faelyn were both comforting, and held a sense of urgency. But Elwen plainly didn't want to leave Drago. Hearing the anger in her words, Raoden suddenly felt terrible once more for dispatching such a magnificent animal. Before the two warriors could depart, Raoden placed a hand on Elwen's shoulder. "It was I who killed your wolf. I am sorry, but his crusade ended more lives than necessary on this day. I will make sure that he is not mounted on a wall. He will go with honor, with the others who fought today." Raoden tried to make his words comforting, but he found that he just spoke bluntly, and without the compassion he had wanted to show, and Elwen seemed too torn up inside to care much about what he had to say anyways.

Nodding awkwardly, Raoden turned to survey the damage caused by the fighting. At Faelyn's signal, both the elven warriors and the human warriors had ceased fire. Everyone stood, wounded and panting, looking to their leaders for instruction. Raoden moved to call out to his men, but found that he could hardly take the breath or summon the voice to do so. In the moment, he had forgotten of his wound to the side. Pain tingled across his entire body, the adrenaline finally wearing off. He was lightheaded and queasy from a loss of blood, and his vision was blurring. He needed to get to the medical tent, and fast. Then he would head off for the palace immediately to report the battle to Queen Elyana.

Faelyn winced at the harsh words and tone from Elwen, yes she might be angry and sad but that isn't an excuse to take her grief out on me thought Faelyn angrily. Guards rushed towards them and all Faelyn had to do with the bubbling anger inside of her was growl and snarled baring her long fangs at them and they instantly backed off. Faelyn took her hand off Elwen's shoulder and clenched it into a ball as Raoden walked to her side saying a few blunt and slightly comforting words.

Elwen just shook him off as well and Faelyn looked to Raoden giving a slight nod, before following after Elwen who was awaiting her. Faelyn could of sworn the captain himself was about to faint from his wounds but she decided not to get involved, herself too was struggling to keep a level head and remain upright as the pain in her shoulder and chest increased horrifically with each step. She looked to Elwen before drawing her sword and using it to lean on as she walked.

Faelyn whistled to her black and white overo stallion, Rowan and he instantly came galloping towards them stopping abruptly in front of them. Faelyn took a deep breath before heaving herself onto the saddle, she groaned and yelped as her wound in her shoulder tore deeper at the harsh movement. Faelyn had to steady herself for a moment before looking with dead eyes to Elwen. "Get on behind me," she growled, shifting forward in her saddle, she could feel the blood running down her back and front and then she felt the wetness in her leg as her leg wound opened. She sagged forward and rested her head on the pommel of the saddle, taking deep breaths to steady her head.

(Sorry if this is powerplaying, want to get the scene moving along) As Elwen mounted, Fae spurred Rowan forward and the stallion galloped uphill through the smoldering forest she passed through her band of warriors and they cried and gasped as they saw her wounds but Faelyn merely waved her hand for them to follow. They rode at a fast pace, pushing their steeds onwards. She never liked to push their horses to the limit but the injuries everyone had sustained was in desperate need of caring for. Faelyn leaned forward as Rowan galloped through the Elven forest, her head drooped forward as blackness entered her vision. She would not pass out now, she would wait until she found Aria and then her body could do whatever.

ELWEN LUNA
[b]elven warrior - 50+ - Nature magic
near the human stronghold - with Faelyn

"Faelyn!" The word of a gentle tone broke the silence and moans of the other guards. The smaller elven girl scratched her head and moved her hair partly behind her ears. The horse's trot went to Faelyn's side and their horses were side by side. Their horses spoke about wild things, and how rough the terrain was. Elwen reached out her hand and put it on her top chest and pushed Faelyn up and straightened her back. Showing a look of slight sympathy and worry, she looked at the way to go and forward. Looking at the captain's leg, she sighed "I'm going to take that as a warning." Nodding a worried nod and a gentle smile, she raised to her full height.

Looking back, she said in a sharp and loud voice, "Show the meaning of speed!" The small elven girl commanded, and all the horses seemed to throw up their heads in acceptance and instantly started to move faster. "Keep up, Rowan, this is your chance to fly. We need to get there fast." As the girl nodded in thanks to the horse, he instantly started to push onward, much faster than before, and so did the horse bellow her, the one that belong to her. "Ballad, we must move faster," Leaning to the horses ear, the large dark brown Arabian stallion huffed and threw his head up, as he sighed and started to pace next to Rowan. Her horse was unlike Faelyn's. Ballad showed height, and was a strong muscular stallion with a dark brown coat and white socks by his hooves, and a dark brown mane. The large stallion had a prance on and a black muzzle with white markings. The markings consisted on his forehead, with a white star, and a gentle side sweep of his mane.

"Just a bit longer, Faelyn." The blonde girl mumbled as both horses broke into a run to the kingdom, seeming to race each other as they strode side by side. The elven girl couldn't stay mad at Faelyn, the injured girl that had came to her aid, but also the one who killed her wolf. She now despised the captain, Raoden and at his name, she turned to a strict and annoyed tone. Rolling her eyes at the thought of his promise, she snarled to herself 'you liked it, that act doesn't fool me.. mortal.'

Aria heard the whinnies of the horses before she saw the rescue party cresting the hill. Galloping towards the noise, she gazed in horror at Faelyn's slumped, wounded form, barely able to drive Rowan. She cantered along side the elven riders, trying to reach Faelyn. When she did, Aria gasped in shock and sorrow. Faelyn's wounds were numerous and debilitating, to say the least. Blood ran down her front in trickles, leaving cakes on her face and arms. Her armor was in tatters, with what looked like bite and claw marks covering much of her body. "Faelyn!" Aria cried, trotting next to the horse and his rider. Aria needed to do something, but she had to get back to the kingdom of Cymbiir to do so, and fast.

Catching sight of Elwen, Aria nodded to the other elf. "I need you to take care of Rowan. It will be faster if Faelyn rides with me on Aeglos," she said to Elwen, her voice serious. Aria knew that the nature elf had some sort of affinity towards animals. She would be able to handle it, no problem. Quickly, Aria pulled Faelyn from Rowan's saddle over to her own. If they could ride ahead, Aria might be able to curb the rapid loss of blood. Handing the reigns of Rowan to Elwen, Aria spurred Aeglos towards the palace in the center of Cymbiir.

They ran through trees, Faelyn's wounded form limp in Aeglos's saddle. "Hold on for a bit longer, Faelyn," Aria whispered to her friend. "No more harm will come to you." But even as they traveled with speed, Aria knew that she had to find water, and fast. They drew up next to the rushing river that wound its way through Cymbiir and Aria pulled Aeglos to a stop, swinging down off the snow white mare. Pulling Faelyn with her, Aria set the other elf on the bank of the river, her head resting in the moss. Saying a few words in Telerin, Aria pulled the water from the river in a glowing spiral, incasing some of Faelyn's greater wounds. "May this water heal you and give you strength. May the blood of the earth quench the flow of blood from its children. May you be cleansed of those who have wounded you." It was a simple healing technique, but it was enough to let Faelyn rest. Aria would wait here next to her friend until Faelyn woke, and then they would be strong enough to move and to give their report to King Levos.

➸--Raoden Marx
human ➸ captain of the guard ➸ Jason; Elyana
_________________________________________________________

Raoden sat on the edge of a bench in the medical tent as a young woman bandaged the wound in his side. "Ah, is it okay?" he winced, arching his back. "Can I go now?" He needed to find Jason, and together they needed to give their report to the queen.

"No, Sir. You need to rest. You lost a lot of blood today," replied the girl, wiping away dried blood with a rag. "The queen will have to wait to hear of the battle." The girl finished her quick repair job by pulling Raoden's shirt back on and helping him stand. Raoden hurt. Faelyn's blow had left him weak, but to be honest, she hadn't looked too well herself. He knew, however, that pain would have to be dealt with second to answering orders. Raoden may lead the military base, but he answered to the queen, and she didn't like to be kept waiting.

Telling the girl that he'd rest, Raoden turned to leave. The girl didn't look convinced, but she didn't argue as Raoden walked back outside and to the stables. Finding a guard, Raoden tapped the man on the shoulder. "I need you to find Jason Haigh. Tell him that I've left to see the queen, and that he should follow me when he gets the chance. He was closely involved in the situation, and she'll want to hear his report."

"Aye, sir," said the guard, jogging away. Raoden sighed and entered the stable. Finding his own stallion, a grey horse named Dusk, Raoden fixed his saddle, each of his movements labored.

"Alright, Dusk. Let's go face the queen," he said, his eyes dull with a numbing pain. They cantered out to the center of the garrison and then onto the dust path that would lead them to the main court of Verbroné. Raoden thought carefully about what to say to the queen upon meeting her. She was like a walking lie detector; he would be better off telling her exactly what happened, rather than trying to hide the fact that he had let an elf hostage escape, and willingly. Reaching the palace, Raoden took a breath and handed the reigns of his horse to a guard, entering the great marble doors. Speaking to a page, he said "Would you please alert the queen that her captain has arrived to give his report." The little boy nodded and ran off up the stairs. Raoden sat on a bench in the main hall, clutching his side and yawning. It was only about one in the afternoon, but the morning had been hectic and he was tired.

QUEEN ELYANA
━━━━━━━ of verbroné ━━
holy queen, mother of mercy
┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉ ┉
sex: female
age: twenty eight years
rank: queen

━━━━━━━━━━
The cheese was strong and went well with her fine, watered-down wine. The beverage was fruity on her tongue, with a slightly sour aftertaste. The bread was soft and white and still warm from the kitchens. Queen Elyana took her time, nibbling on her meal rather than eating it quickly. For all she knew, the fighting could go on for a long while. Her husband was nowhere to be seen, and he certainly wasn't taking part in the battle. She would know if her husband was taking part if the fighting, but she did not expect that he would. She had the king wrapped around her little finger and she knew it; in fact, she relished it. Yes, she loved him in her own way, but his...... weakness got on her nerves. She was definitely the stronger of the two, especially from her point of view. Being queen was a role that Elyana was sure she was born to take, and she was not going to act otherwise.

Rapid but polite knocking drew the queen's gaze away from the battlefield - she could not see too much anymore, everyone looked the same, but it looked like the direwolf had been killed - and out of her reverie. Setting her goblet down, the queen got to her feet and headed over to the door. Opening it revealed a small boy, hardly more than nine years, ten at a stretch. He looked up at her in awe before quickly remembering his manners and stooping in a low bow. What reason could a child have for coming to her rooms? At least he is a noble's son, and not some scrawny street urchin. She would never allow some beggar's child anywhere near her home. But this was a highborn child, so Elyana lowered herself, crouching down so she was at eye level with the boy.
"Tell me what it is, child." She said gently, smiling and reaching out to cup his soft face in her palm.

"Your captain has arrived and is waiting for you in the main hall Your Highness." He mumbled, voice squeaky high from nerves. The queen gave the boy her thanks and sent him on his way with a kiss to his cheek. The boy stuttered and blushed at the action but left, allowing Elyana to sort out her skirts before following. She should like to have children one day, once the war was over and the elves were gone forever. Right now having children would only provide targets for her enemy. She would not have her children die the same way her dear cousin Petyr had. He had been hardly older than the boy sent to her by Raoden, and it sent chills down her spine to think of the way he had died. She had been like his mother; her father had become his legal ward when his mother had died of childbed fever and his father of dysentery. She had seen him cut down in cold blood and no child would ever suffer that again, not on her watch, She herself had been hardly more than a child, her course had just started and plans were underway to marry her to her husband. I will not let anyone suffer that.

Her walk through the hallways and corridors did not take long; this palace had been her home for years now and she knew all the shortcuts just as well as the servants did, though she avoided the worst ones, keeping to the brightly lit ones where everyone could see her in her finery. When Queen Elyana arrived in the main hall, the first thing she saw was Raoden sitting on a bench near one of the walls. Gliding over, the queen held her hands together in front of her body. "Roaden." She greeted the captain. "Your report."

ELWEN LUNA
[b]elven warrior - 50+ - Nature magic
in elven woodlands - with no one

Much reluctant to let the captain go, the small elven girl let Aria take Faelyn with no words, jumping off the large horse that she rode. Seeing Rowan's unease, she patted his neck with a gentle word in his ear, and he sighed a breath of air and let her stroke his muzzle. "She'll be okay, I know it." Elwen muttered to the horse as Ballad started to trot with unease, spinning circles with his gentle trots. Sighing and putting her head down, she shook her head gently with ease, closing her eyes. Looking at the soldiers who were clearly confused where to go, she sighed "You can come with me, or follow them... Either way, get to the castle." Giving them a strict chance to go with Faelyn, they all started towards Aria and Faelyn. 'What'd I expect?' She though to herself as she walked with Rowan and Ballad's reigns in opposite hands.

Walking in the woodland, she seemed more relaxed, the rope burns across her arms were very visible from the struggle. Everything seemed still and quiet as her steps weren't heard or careless next to the two horses, who seemed to be enjoying the walk as well. Elwen hummed as she walked them to the kingdom, and was ready to lie down in her comfortable bed. The she - elf seemed content in walking the horses, she was very far off from where they'd started.

He could feel the pain and agony from his throne that his warriors had suffered. He could feel the horrible pain felt by that of his captain Faelyn, he could feel the traitor, the imbolsule that had risked their life and their people to sought out a lost cause because of some wolf. Levos was more than annoyed, he was angry. He stared blankly at the throne room in front of him as he sat on his legendary chair and felt the vines and power of nature course through his veins into the room. He breathed out and let the marble floor sprout shoots of grass, and roots breaking the surface of the grass, his power flowed out and a large, dangerous serpent followed by his mighty elk strode confidently across the ground and snorted at the guards. Surprisingly the guards did not flinch or move from their post as the elk inspected them, they move a little when the large serpent made its way towards them but with a wave of Levos' hand he sent the creatures back to the area they stayed.

Faelyn heard a faint mumbled from beside her then loud cries of her name, she could barely register to the voice to the face as she looked at Aria her eyes blank and expressionless, she could feel herself slipping and she welcomed the darkness as she fell forward she didn't know whether she had been caught or had hit the ground but a sudden jerking sideways caused her to groan loudly in pain and completely slip away.

*in Faelyn's unconscious state she has a mental battle with herself*

A fiery figure stood in front of her, Faelyn looked around the world a haze. Where the heck am I? she thought to herself before shuddering at the fact her thoughts echoed off the blackness around her. The fiery figure was distant and she couldn't pick their face, she tried walking towards it and calling out a simple hello but her words were drowned out by nothingness. Faelyn strode out but she wasn't moving anywhere, suddenly the fiery figure disappeared and reappeared in front of her. Faelyn held back her horror as she released the alight figure was her. It smiled devilishly at her baring long teeth that had been sharpened into canines, Faelyn took a step back but felt the familiar burning sensation of fire but this time it hurt her. She yelped and backed away seeing that she was in a ring of fire. What the hell?! she cried mentally, her thoughts echoing once again in the air. Faelyn looked at the figure of herself, it was smiling at her with devils delight, it's eyes where empty none of the beautiful green that flickered in the sunlight, just blackness. Faelyn looked as it raised a skinny almost malnourished hand that had long, long fingernails protruding from it's hand. It reached out and Faelyn went to back away but couldn't, her legs where frozen in place. "You deserve this Faelyn the Wildfire," the figure snarled, it's voice was not her own but Elwen's. It lunged forward and stuck it's needle like nails into her chest,

Faelyn screamed closing her eyes and all of a sudden the figure transformed and when she opened her eyes she saw Elwen's dire wolf. The wolf lept off her and circled her, snarling like a rabid creature. "You are weakkkk...you fail to prottectt those you loveee...." it hissed, the voice was now Raoden's, the wolf lunged towards her and grabbed her shoulder. A familiar pain arrived and spread through her body and the wolf disappeared now Raoden, the Captain of the Human Guard stood behind her the sword he held sticking of her shoulder. Faelyn cried again and managed to removed herself from the sword and scratch and claw Raoden across the neck but suddenly his figure transformed into Aria's. She was bloody from the minor attack Faelyn seemed to deliver and she held a mirror, suddenly blood dripped then poured from her once minor wounds and she collapsed to the floor in a lifeless lump. Faelyn cried out, screamed to Aria but she was gone. All Aria could do was hold up the mirror and Faelyn saw her reflection. The demon, devil version of her she saw earlier. Faelyn gasped and stumbled backwards before the ground beneth her gave way and she plunged into darkness once again. She screamed and shouted into the nothingness, as it was the only thing she could do.

Faelyn sprung awake, gasping for breath clawing at her wounds, and surged forward not realizing Aria beside her, instantly she felt a horrid pain spread like fire through her body and she wanted it out. She screamed, and screamed beginning to claw at her head rolling on the ground before slowly stopping curling up and sobbing like a child. What was that? It couldn't of been real? Is it a sign? questions and images flashed through her mind and Faelyn groaned and relaxed collapsing on the ground. She didn't want to open her eyes, she didn't want to see the death she had caused.
