Fingers tapped impatiently on the side of his plush leather seat. Eyes darted back and forth as the scenery outside flickered past. But soon it all began to slow and they were stuck in traffic. Stuck in traffic. On a day that everyone knew that there was a magnificent masquerade ball happening. That's what I get, James thought, for setting off ten minutes beforehand. I should have set off at least twenty minutes before! Growing bored, the Prince picked up his phone, and in a vain attempt to push away the boredom, he fished his phone from his pocket and scrolled through his Facebook feed only to sigh heavily and put it back after quickly replying to Zach. "Sure, near the buffet table?"

When they finally did arrive, he all but ran from the limousine, striding at a fast pace and rushing up the staircase with rapid steps. It didn't take long for him to mingle with the crowd, unrecognisable due to the mask on his face. Straight away, James headed over to the buffet table, scanning the crowd for the familiar form of his friend.

Bored out of her mind and on her second glass of champagne, Bridget scanned around for a guy who had yet to be accompanied by anyone. From across the room she spotted a very attractive one standing alone at the buffet table. He appeared to be trying to find someone... 'Well, no matter...' She thought, adjusting her luxurious red hair over her shoulders and straightening her mask. 'He's not occupied, so it's not like he can turn me away... If any guy could.'

Picking up her glass once again, she sauntered across the room to stand next to him. "It's a very nice ball, I'll give them that." The Irish girl flashed a charming smile, her pale pink lip gloss sparkling in the light. If there was any chance of making it into the palace, she'd have to be even more of a socialite than usual.

"You should try listening to me more often, it'd do wonders for you," Bentley answered, throwing a sarcastic wink toward the prince of Wetherby. His attention wavered again to the crowd of girls, picking out the one hiding her converse. He noticed her moving toward them, and before he got the chance to answer Charles's comment about there being no objections she had approached them and asked to "join them." The whole conversation with Charles was forgotten at that point as his deep blue eyes sized up their newest arrival. While Charles introduced himself and gave a courteous little bow, Bent couldn't help but mentally roll his eyes. 'Such a gentleman, Charles...' he thought silently, his exterior unwavering as he cooly slipped a hand in his pocket and turned his attention back to the girl.

"Well, if it isn't Miss Converse..." the boy noted snidely, raising an eyebrow in challenge as his eyes ventured over her frame for the second time. As his eyes returned to hers a content smile slipped onto his lips. "I'm Prince Bentley Layton," he finished, raising both his eyebrows teasingly, testing the waters.

-----felix rolled his eyes once again at bentley's jokes, keeping quiet while he gave charles a hard time about the ball. his attentions were pointed outwards at the ladies, instead of at his company. but when a girl arrived, felix turned his head and blinked at her. charlie and bent both introduced themselves before the eighteen year-old spoke. "i'm felix ardell, prince of ellesmere, but you can call me felix." he gave a slight bow and picked up the girl's hand, placing a kiss on the back of it. he dropped the hand and winked cheekily. felix was a gentleman at heart, but knew his way with women and was known to be quite the ladie's man.

-----"so how did you end up here?" felix asked, leaning against the bar. he figured she had an interesting story, especially if she had a pair of converse on, as bentley had said earlier. most of the other girls sported high heels that looked like hell to walk in. felix never did understand why girls put themselves through so much pain, always trying to outdo each other. personally, he preferred natural looking beauties the best. he recalled that he always found his past girlfriends to be most beautiful when they weren't trying so hard and piling makeup onto their faces. so felix appreciated henley's lighter, feathery makeup, as opposed to the harsh lines some of the other princesses flaunted.
