So. Time to get down to work. She cracked her knuckles, gathering her thoughts before she said anything too stupid and absurd. She should have probably doubted herself at least a bit more, because she was growing a bit too cocky in her ideas. Before she spoke, Saidi looked right at Rei, her dark red eyes narrowed. "The vampire is to be killed last." In reality, she didn't want Harley dead at all. She wanted to keep the vampire alive so that she could gain possible answers. Things of the like. It was a bad plan, but any plan was better than no plan, right? She glanced to Mort, studying him for a moment. "And, ah... Your random bursts of flame probably... Well, we'll work on that." Al-Hasheem gave him a gentle smile before looking to the Strongman, sighing a bit and running her fingers through her hair. "Do us all a favour and don't go around punching people, ace? Unless, of course, it's a target, but you know. That's obvious. Please punch them. Unless it's the vampire, dammit! Hands off of Harley! He goes last." Another sharp glance aimed towards Esmeree for her earlier ignorance and trying to instigate the vampire.

"I say we go after Jackson first." She grabbed the bag off of her back, pulling out Jekyll and Hyde's file, opening it and showing the group. "Nothing against you, Cole, but he's a bigger threat to us right now. Unpredictable." Saidi gave them a grim smile before folding the file back up. "Then, ah, Chelsea. She's another threat. But, the witch... Ariawyn? ****, however you pronounce that, um... She's going to be last. Harley will be third. But, ah. Let me deal with him, please. Not that I don't have faith in you, Rei, but, well. I want to do this one. You can kill your girl, but let me kill my guy." It was only customary that each of them killed their own blood donors, right?. Right. Saidi was always right. No exceptions.

She turned on her heel to look back at Cole, pointing at him. "Please, gods, Cole. You disappearing off to bars isn't going to do any of us good. Hurting us, in fact. Not smart, if you want this mission not to go to complete hell." She shrugged, pulling a face that showed indifference that she clearly didn't have. Inside, she was filled with emotion, yet she forced herself to create a mask of apathy. It helped her grab leadership, she learned. "And bar fights are going to be the death of you, my friend." She smiled sympathetically, holding up a hand to him, as if asking for his permission for her to touch him. (As if she needed it, but it was mostly to show him that she wasn't going to hurt him.) Saidi felt along his ribs, trying to find the ones he had broken/fractured in the fight with the guys earlier. "And in mentioning that, how are you holding up? Think you can hang on for like, half an hour?"

Mortimer Abernathy

Location: Town Age: 23 ElementalTags: Saidi, Cole, Rei

Mortimer listened closely as Saidi spoke nodding ever so often. He gives her a forced small smile as she mentions his ability to conjure up a wildfire. With that in thought he still keeps his hands in his pant pockets. He didn't speak, in fact he didn't utter a word as she explained the new formed planned. He let his thoughts take over him. However, when she did give the order of who they were going to get or take out a question forms in his mind. Was he really capable of killing? In all honesty he hadn't even considered that he would possible have to kill one of their targets. Detaining yes. Questioning yes. But killing these people... he didn't think he could be capable. As his eyes scan Jackson's file Mortimer finds his face familiar. But a memory could not come to his mind at that moment. He looks at Saidi, "Shouldn't we considered detaining the targets rather then just going off and killing them? I would think killing them would be last resort, correct? Some of them could have valuable information to us.." Mortimer's eyes begin to change slightly to more of a dark blue. This usually happened when he had a growing fear inside him. His hands feel a bit warmer but nothing that would make him feel alarmed, figuring it was just because of how long his hands had been in his pockets. Cautiously, Mortimer removes his hands from his pocket letting them so call breath for a change. Instead he crosses her arms over his chest as he waits for Saidi to reply.

harley curtis . the vampire

harley
the vampire . pansexual . location;; town . tag{s};; chelsea, jackson, ariawyn
─────────────────────────────────

companionship wasn't the proper word for it. no, that simply wasn't it. the two before him definitely weren't companion material, and in the end neither was harley. he didn't need someone to call an acquaintance, in fact he generally preferred being alone. that was likely far too stereotypical of him, what, with being a vampire and all. however, he had good reason. lurking about in the shadows, friendless and hungry, is fantastic. it is a vampire's worst nightmare to succumb to their hunger, and eventually cave in to their desires... the desire the prey upon whatever is nearby. so, in other words, their friends. many tales of the past echoed in harley's ears eternally, twisting his stomach in knots each time it came to mind. these thoughts of the generations of his kind before him influenced him to never, ever, ever associate himself with anyone. but realistically, nobody can do that. harley wasn't even an introvert, and in fact generally considered himself more extroverted. so, this whole "being quiet and mysterious" thing was a lot more difficult than it sounded. and, something about meeting these two set off a ticking time bomb the vamp wasn't even aware existed. apparently, he really really needed some social interaction. some kindness, some flirting, some emotion other than starvation and ferocity. it always seemed like the people he spoke to were his victims, or his enemies. neither were enjoyable encounters. harley liked to think this was his opportunity, and he could finally force himself to befriend someone. he was likely digging himself into an enormous trench, considering so far he'd observed the girl was a shifter, but ah well. not taking chances in life was for boring losers without much fun in their hearts.

harley eased his grip on the two, discovering his sarcastically friendly gesture hadn't been taken too kindly. both the inhuman beings appeared quite displeased with his decision to touch them. he rolled his eyes at them, decidedly ignoring their bitterness towards his species. he had to admit, their actions could be gratified. he was a bloodsucking monster, and he was embracing them. it was obviously going to make a few hairs stand on end. so, harley left it, instead deciding to approach it with another sarcastic remark. he was ready to dash straight into it when he was interrupted by a loud racket springing from the boy. harley took a step away from the second male, his unwavering crimson gaze boring into him curiously. it was definitely quite the show to see; it was as if jack was having a conversation, but to himself. like... in his brain. harley wanted to say something, but oddly enough he felt as though he'd be interrupting something. whatever that something was... that... weird argument going on inside the boy's brain? and then the outburst. it sent harley's brain reeling, instantly giving him the ability to identify this boy's species. at last he could discover if he was merely insane, or something more. and wouldn't you know it, harley had been correct. jack was definitely something far more than an ordinary human; he was a hyde. one of those creatures that blend in so well with humans, because their power came from within. it made them legally mad, but at least it was a bit easier to go out unnoticed. harley couldn't even walk into the sunlight without his skin beginning to boil. he didn't melt away, like that childish stereotype. he just felt like it, and it wasn't the most delightful of experiences.

the vamp wrinkled his nose when jack decidedly ended his outburst, and his sudden switch of personalities. from afraid to... well, rather evil, actually. it was like a whole other side to this boy, and it was hellish and wicked. harley definitely favored the snippier, more casual side of this hyde. he actually began to feel a weird wave of sympathy, understanding the poor being must go through such horrific inner turmoil constantly. seeing his sporadic behavior in action wasn't too reassuring; man, it would definitely take some time for this grouping to gain some level of trust for one another. harley already felt like the black sheep amongst the other two, but seeing the differences in their powers should cause some extra struggles on its own. perhaps a companionship with them hadn't been the best plan, but there was no turning back now!

then the insult came, and all the sympathy had vanished. once again, harley was the tall, tough, and grueling vampire. he was essentially the villain in their eyes, just wanting a good bite to eat. that's all he ever was, really. ah, well. another thing he'd gotten used to. the distrust towards his species lacked shock factor now. "the name-calling is unnecessary; what are you, a child? besides, hyde, if i had wanted to take a bit out of her i would've already. while you were having your little emotional break down just then i could've gone for it," he snapped, willingly getting in jack's face. but he took a deep breath through his nostrils, desperately trying to remind himself to keep a level head. he cleared his throat, hoping to clear away the stained air, tainted by the threesome's many quirky differences that caused multiple obvious issues. just a couple of... bumps in the road. hopefully, though, they were headed towards a great friendship! haha, okay, as if. harley could really see how the three of them would have some difficulties getting along, but nothing a little getting to know one another couldn't fix!

harley stood away from jack, not wishing to feud with him anymore. he crossed his arms over his chest, his cape billowing around him as another gust of wind made its way through them. he was actually about to say something that could've potentially broken the ice, but something caught his attention. by golly, it was another new scent! the millionth one he'd discovered amongst the lame old human scents that night. he perked up, practically forgetting that chelsea and jack were there. he saw a pair of orange eyes staring back at him, and he smiled crookedly. it wasn't meant to look so cruel and hungry, but honestly it probably came across that way. it was near to impossible for a man with enormous canines to look friendly and nonthreatening.

"hey, i can see you. come on out, no use hiding. i know you're not human. neither are we," he stated this very confidently, lifting his arm up in the process. and, like he was coaxing a child out from under the covers, he gestured with his fingers for her to emerge. he looked straight at the orange eyes, belonging to ariawyn, hoping she'd come out.

JACKSON
✣ jack | jekyll n' hyde | 21 | town |tagged: chelsea, harley, aria ✣
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Chelsea spoke on the side of him and he only grit his teeth thoughtfully. Jack didn't want to move an inch and he was very near falling into a heap on the ground just to catch some sleep. That little screw up had taken it's toll more than anybody standing in this street could know. He was an expert with hiding what went on inside because if he wasn't, he'd have been killed a long time ago. Jack had always been able to make friends easily enough but keeping them was an entirely different story. They either ended up dead or worse and that was something he'd never been able to change. What was the point of being able to blend into society if there's an integral part of your entire being that's just going to end up killing society in the first place. The entire cycle was irrevocably maddening and Jackson was just so tired of it. Still though, he kept up his strong little face and his lopsided grin was held in place for as long as he stood among other people. Green eyes studied the vampire silently, picking up the facial expressions and everything else that might betray what was going on in Harley's head. But he didn't really have to wait so long before the pale boy stepped into his face to say something. Upon instinct, Jackson took several steps back the second Harley brought up Hyde's name.

Ha! They really do know now. Seems you picked up quite a strange little lot of monsters here. Not to mention the one that's hiding a little ways away. Jack slammed his eyes shut, knowing there wasn't much point in trying to hide that there was a lot of things going on in his head at the moment. I don't see why you want to protect any of these monsters in the first place. People like them hurt the actual people you seem to care so much about. Think, for once, I could be doing you and the world a favor.... I'd be a superhero. And you can be my lame little sidekick. What I'm saying is.... LET ME OUT JEKYLL!!! When he his eyes again, Jack's smile had fallen completely off his face and he cracked his knuckles nervously, "No nicknames. Got it. Still not going to agree though. What do you think about Count Chocula? Really captures your sweet side." His words were tired and not much cheer was expressed like it had been forced earlier but who was he to just stop spewing out general nonsense whenever he had an opportunity to talk? He supposed that if there was anything he and Hyde had in common, it would be the way they both couldn't take anything seriously. Everything that happened had to be turned into a joke for reasons that neither of them knew.

But Jackson had figured it was a sort of defense mechanism that he could get behind no matter what. Especially if the thing you're defending against is another person's words. Harley had pointed out clearly enough that his little fights with his head hadn't gone unnoticed. Still though, he would far from call them "little" since this was a battle he'd been fighting ever since he was old enough to talk. Just that in its own was exhausting to think about and none of these people could begin to understand. He wouldn't let them either, since the only way they'd really know who he was up against was if he let the other side come out. But whatever, it was bound to happen eventually and by eventually, Jackson meant very soon. It was physically impossible for him to hold Hyde back forever and like a rubber band, he would just have to loosen intentionally or face breaking completely. His eyes landed on Chelsea finally and the corner of his lip tilted into a smile before he shrugged, "Oh and I might still run. All this side is good for really... unless you want to play chess. I can play a mean game of chess." Jackson watched Harley call out to the girl Hyde had supposedly been warning about and he shoved his hands in his pockets thoughtfully, "Alright. I'm not saying that I'm sticking around eternally but I'm incredibly tired. So unless we all - as a four apparently - decide that finding a place to sleep - or maybe not sleep, oi, Harley, do you still need sleep? never mind - Er, unless we all decide that finding a place to sleep is on the agenda, I should really be leaving... might find a bench or something. Maybe curl up with another homeless man. Could be cozy. You never know."

|| Chelsea Kairen || 21 || Female || Shapeshifter || Location; in town || Tagged; Jackson, Harley, Aria ||

Chelsea continued to watch the situation carefully as the vamp spilled his knowledge, he knew what Jackson was as well and that bothered her, not all were as accepting as she was. She had learned what it was like to change when your emotion's shifted, she often did and she had hurt people by doing so. When she heard the vamps comment about "taking a bite" she scoffed loudly, "I'd like to see you try bat boy!" She knew that the whole myth about them being able to turn into bats was just that, a myth, but still she liked to pick fun at it. She was however quite surprised at how the vampire managed to remain civil throughout everything, despite Jack's name calling, which she herself found funny but thought best not to laugh at. As she turned her attention back to Jack she could see the pain on his face, he was holding it back, trying to protect them? Then he made another jab at the vamp, not with his previous vigour but still, good to see the guy could still joke.

She ignored the vampire calling out to the girl who had hidden a little way off, she had caught the scent a while ago but didn't see the point in revealing her, not all supernatural beings were fond of company. She met Jack's gaze and was glad to see a hint of a smile return to his face, it was the worst thing to see, all the hope and happiness drained out of someone who was once the life of the party. At the mention of chess she grinned, "Actually I am reasonably good at chess myself, no pro but I can keep a game going for a fair while.!" She kept her tone cheerful and listened as he continued on, talking about getting some sleep and she gave a small shrug, "Actually I wouldn't mind some sleep either, we can always head back to my hotel room, and no vamp it is not what it sounds like, I'm simply offering a place to stay. Nothing else! Saves you sleeping on a bench, and besides it isn't particularly warm out here is it?" She was happy to offer the place as somewhere to stay, it wasn't much off of her back, it hadn't cost that much, and hopefully they could get there without running into something else like a banshee or God knows what else.

Having answered Jack's questions her gaze turned to the girl who's eyes she could make out in the gloom, while her scent was unusual it did appear to be the most human out of them all and Chelsea was unsure what she was and she couldn't quite pin down a species. "Also as much as I love chess and running is a great way of sorting things out, I doubt that that is all that you're good for Jack." She said, slightly turning her head back to Jack to address him, everyone had their strengths, no matter how small. She watched carefully as the vampire did his best to coax out the girl when she realized that she didn't even know the vampires name, he'd asked theirs but she couldn't recall whether or not he had given them a name or not. Oh well she'd just have to call him vamp or bloodsucker until she found out, she was sure that he would totally love that! No. She would ask him once the girl had made her presence fully known to the three of them, avoiding maximum embarrassment if he had told them his name after all.

harley
the vampire . pansexual . location;; town . tag{s};; chelsea, jackson, ariawyn
─────────────────────────────────

harley's features twitched lightly at jackson's ability to regain composure, finding himself amused. it was actually quite bizarre how quickly this boy's emotions leaped. one moment he was alright, and the very next he was hollering into the sky with a startling ferocity. and, wouldn't you know it, he was back to normal again. a bit more uneasy, since he just essentially "blew his cover", but all the same, he had a level head. this guy was awfully impressive, especially concerning his daily struggle. the vamp doubted his ability to thrive with a second voice in his head, constantly nagging and tugging on all of his nerves. he likely wouldn't last too long with this, and most certainly wouldn't approve of being ordered about. people trying to instruct him about easily set his temper off, so having another person in your brain doing that twenty-four-seven would be rough. seriously, harley felt a genuine level of respect for the hyde.

he glanced over at chelsea, recalling her presence when she snapped back at him (calling him bat boy, of all things!). shockingly, he'd nearly forgotten his blood lust towards her. in fact, the idea of his hunger had completely slipped his mind. animals were never nearly as satisfying. he inhaled sharply, inwardly pleading that his stomach wouldn't growl. it would be horribly awkward, and might send some alarm into his new-found "friends". luckily, his starved thoughts were snatched from his focus when jack broke the silence. the new nickname didn't settle too kindly on his shoulders, but he merely exhaled through his nostrils in exasperation. "oh, shut up," he snapped, but his response wasn't all that angry. in fact, it was more joking. for the first time in quite a while, harley smiled a little. his lips curved upwards into something that wasn't a sneer, but an actual show of happiness. it actually startled him so much he immediately stopped himself, rebuilding his barrier hurriedly. showing happiness felt like a weakness, especially when chelsea and jack were there to judge him. he had some level of intimidation factor that he didn't want to slip through his grasp too easily.

their conversation carried onwards, but harley had stopped listening. he tuned out chelsea and jack's nonsense, speaking of chess and whatnot. personally, the vamp could care less about the old board game. now, he was primarily ensnared by this new being. harley had noticed his curiosity truly was peeking through a lot this afternoon. a bit too frequently, but he couldn't prevent himself from feeling interested! meeting all of these creatures, that were like him in a way, was bizarre and kind of... comforting. he didn't feel so alone anymore. the vamp still anxiously waited for aria to emerge, at last gaining his wish. she drew herself from the shadows, coming into view and advancing towards them. the closer she got, the more her scent caused his thoughts to buzz. her species was certainly new; nothing like the others in their slowly forming group. would there be any others to join them?

"it was the eyes that gave you away. they're very interesting," harley responded to aria's question, not adding the fact he'd also noticed her by her smell. that would likely have frightened her off; saying that he smelled her presence didn't sound like that great of an introduction. harley observed the newcomer closely for a few moments before returning to jack and chelsea, tuning in on their busy chatting. apparently, they were discussing the idea of a hotel room. the thought of sleeping in an actual room, in a place of "comfort", sounded like a luxury to the vampire. he was so used to slumbering away in dripping caves and obnoxiously noisy forests. neither were safe, either. he had been awoken far too often by the angry growl of an animal. harley shook his head, dispersing the memories and returning to the present. he glanced at aria, then to jack, then at chelsea. he looked at her extra hard, trying to decide if he could trust her or not. he needed to, but he didn't. but harley could never turn down the opportunity to sleep indoors, so he caved. "i'm not opposed to this idea, actually. i guess let's just guarantee to one another that we won't harm each other. i don't want to wake up to a knife against my throat, or whatever else someone might come up with. we clear?" he stated sternly, arching his eyebrows and rather self-consciously baring his fangs. they glittered threateningly, despite not actually wanting them to. "oh, and jack, yes i do sleep, thank you." harley impatiently glowered at the hyde, but once again managed to cage up his temper. harley was aware his species had multiple stereotypes: transforming into a bat, for example, was a classic. but one that always got under the boy's skin was that most people considered him apart of the "undead". it was as if he was actually a dead man, and wasn't physically present. it was just his soul haunting the earth. souls don't need sleep. but actually, harley was very much alive and required regular care, just as any ordinary breathing being. he looked dead anyway, though; what, with his pale skin and black circles surrounding his drowsy eyes. it didn't offend him, nor surprise him, all that much that jack had cracked that joke.

JACKSON
✣ jack | jekyll n' hyde | 21 | town |tagged: chelsea, harley, aria ✣
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

"Fantastic. See? Once again, sleep extends past all to forge healthy bonds between complete strangers," he shoved his hands in his pockets yet again and let his posture take over itself. Even the way he held himself was much different than when he was Hyde. It was all angular and jagged and he'd been told that he looked like he was leaning against something at times. His lanky and crooked form did well to match his personality so he never bothered fixing it. The smile had returned to his face when the answer was given and he wouldn't be needing any more convincing that he'd be sticking around with this lot til the next morning. He could see a strength in each of them and would just trust that they could hold their own for one night around him. Even the newcomer, as timid as she seemed was undoubtedly packing a punch. Reading people like this was one of the ways Jack was able to get by easy enough when mingling. He could read them just like reading a good book. But most of the time, he hardly paid much attention since his mind was a little preoccupied. But when he did, there was no stopping what his intuitive brain could pick up on.

For instance, when he looked at Harley now he could see that the vampire was no more a threat to them at the moment than Jack was. Using himself as an example was perfect seeing as there was really no way to predict the unpredictable. But any harm would come only if provoked and he doubted anybody was quite in such a mood. If they were, Jack would just walk away and avoid getting involved. His involvement never ended favorably for anybody unfortunately. As Harley opened up his mouth yet again, Jackson couldn't help but chuckle at the assumption that safety was a guarantee. As amusing as that thought was, he had important matters to attend to upstairs. Alright Beetlejuice, you've got my attention. Just listen up you no good dirty rotten thorn in my side. You and I both know who's waking up tomorrow. Right? The response was practically automatic and god awfully cheerful, I can hardly wait Jekyll. You've been putting up quite the fight for the past three weeks. It's a miracle you've lasted this long. But why, oh, why are you bringing this up now? Jack fiddled with his thumbs in his pockets, I'm begging you not to hurt these guys. You know what happens when you rampage. Don't you think it's strange that four monsters all happen to meet on the same night in one street? I have a bad feeling about all of this and you should know more than anybody that my intuition is rarely wrong. Your point? Boy, you are now trying my patience and I've been waiting three weeks for my turn. Your strength of will has really gotten in the way of my free time, you know that?

Jack looked at Harley and smirked upon hearing that the boy needed sleep. He wasn't really trying to be rude and it was practically impossible to find the truth about creatures of legend anywhere. Everything said something else and the truth got lost in time. He opened his mouth to speak to Harley before the thoughts in his head cut him off again. Still waiting... Weren't you about to blow my mind with your unwavering logic? If it were me with the body, I'd be simply shivering with excitement by now. Jack only laughed as if he were still thinking of Harley's answer. "Well well, so basically what we've got here is a glorified mosquito ladies and gentlemen," he dipped his head to the vampire and winked, "Only joking. Now," he clapped his hands together, "Chelsea, if you'll be so kind to lead us to your humble abode where nothing horrible could possibly happen to any of us, I'll gladly follow along mindlessly. You there... girl with the intriguing eyes, you coming? I don't bite... the guy next to me is iffy though." He then shut them all out again to retreat back into his head, whistling a tune outwardly. It was the same one he knew from when he was just a little monster genius.

I'm basically saying that you should wait. Lord knows I can't convince you to just not kill people. That would be insane! For once, I'm only going on my gut here. I think we're going to need these guys somewhere along the road. There's a world of people out there for you to do what you do best but please... just not these ones. It was these sorts of negotiations that made him sick to his stomach. He was an awful person and if people knew just how horrible he was forced to be, even as Jekyll, they would surely see a monster. Here he was, having a perfectly sociable conversation with everybody while in his head he was telling Hyde that there are more people down the road that he could kill instead. Sometimes, he had to make deals with Hyde and trade a life for a life. Offer a mother instead of the mom's child. Negotiate between an old man or a soldier. Because in Hyde's eyes, everybody was the same. Everybody was his plaything and the world was his violent little playground. I've always appreciated this side of you the most. You truly are your own little monster Jekyll. It would be so much easier on your conscience if you just let me do what I wanted. Always trying to save a life by offering up another. I know that you'd offer up your own if I'd let you. It's absolutely laughable.

Jackson bit his lip and turned away from the others to head in the direction the others had been going. Please. If I could get on hands and knees to beg, I would. But I can't without looking irrevocably insane. Who knows, the vampire looks especially nasty to have to deal with. What's the point in potentially hurting yourself when you could go nuts on a group of larger people somewhere along the way? GOD. I HATE YOU SO MUCH! Just don't kill them! Don't try to kill them... If you do... He was interrupted, What? What are you going to do that you haven't tried already? Face it moron, this is a fight you've never been able to win without losing. And I don't intend to make your life easy just like you don't intend to make mine easy. Jackson was about to argue again when the voice continued, But... I'll play your little game. just know that this will come back to bite you harder than that vampire ever could. I'll make you bleed inside from the guilt. In fact.. let's make this more interesting. I promise that I won't ever kill these morons. Not tomorrow. Not in any future. But in return, I get my pick without any word from you on who comes next. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Jackson felt his blood run cold and his face paled considerably. But in the end he knew he'd already decided, a promise like this couldn't go passed up. Yes. Fine. Let's play. These four are untouchable. GOT THAT! Glad to hear it. Boy time does fly when you're having fun. getting tired yet? ...... Jekyll? Hn. Jackson was already staring at the ground with a hard glare and he intended to ignore the monster for the rest of the night. He looked at each of the strangers then and rubbed the back of his neck and he could only wonder. What made these four so different then everybody else? he shook his head and rolled his eyes, only giving into his gut feeling towards the end. It might have been selfish, but Jackson didn't want to be alone anymore, "By the way Casper, if you don't find my nicknames endearing, you're going to have to give me a name you do prefer in the meantime. You too since I've officially confirmed in my head that all three of you and I are going to be acquainted for a while now. And no, none of you have a say in this matter." He looked at Ariawyn and the vampire, smiling warmly before turning to walk backwards again so Chelsea could take the lead. It's not like he'd magically gained a mental map by arguing with himself.

Re: The Four (3 males Open)

|| Chelsea Kairen || 21 || Female || Shapeshifter || Location; in town || Tagged; Jackson, Harley, Aria ||

Chelsea flashed Jackson a quick grin before turning her attention to the newcomer. The girl appeared to be rather small and unassuming yet, not only did she smell different from humans, her eyes seemed change colour every-so-often, changing from amber to brown right in front of their eyes. She seemed timid, afraid of them, not that she could blame the girl, Harley wasn't exactly good at hiding his... oddness and her and Jack weren't exactly pillars of normality. As she was about to answer the girl's question Harley cut in, answering that her eyes gave her away, Chelsea then spoke up, "What Mr. Fangs here said, that and you smell different from a normal person, your scent sticks out slightly." She said trying to keep her voice as non-threatening as possible, she didn't want to scare the girl off just after they had met her.

Chelsea felt eyes burning in to her and looked up to find Harley eyeing her up, not with the same predatory glare he had earlier, this time it just seemed questioning. When he spoke up, agreeing to come with them she wasn't sure if she was glad or not, it was hard for her to feel anything but distrust towards him, but she had to try, no use getting into a fight that neither party would come out f unharmed. "I'm not going to knife you in your sleep dumb ass, though I doubt that a knife would do much to you anyway!" She shook her head, ignoring the fangs that were bared at her. She knew that she had to show that she wasn't afraid or nervous around him, show no weakness and it leaves nothing for others to exploit, plain and simple. Her voice was then once more directed at the newcomer, "Look as I'm sure you've heard we're all going back to my hotel room to get some rest, you're welcome to join us if you like. And like Jackson's just said, getting a name from you and fang boy over there would be quite nice. Oh, my name's Chelsea and that idiot there is Jackson." She said, a smile lighting up her face as she spoke to the girl.

Though she kept it to herself something was bothering her, what was it? She struggled to think what it was. Something she had seen, heard or smelt today was bothering her. But what was it? Then it hit her. The strangers standing outside of the bar, they all smelled rather odd, now that she thought about it they smelled rather like each member of the group, that couldn't be possible could it? She knew almost for certain that she was the last of her kind, her parents had said that they were the last. Despite the similarities between their scents and the strangers scents she could recall that the strangers that she had seen had smelled kind of... off. Not quite like them, more human than would normally be expected. She wondered then if she should mention it to the group, that there were more supernatural creatures like them in town. Then again she realized that she probably couldn't fit eight people into her hotel room, in fact four was almost pushing it.

Chelsea drove thoughts of the strangers out of her mind and then met eyes with the rest of the group. It had been a long time since she'd had a good friend to talk to, so maybe she should just be thankful for the company. "Right so, if you want to come to the hotel then just follow me, I should have room enough for the four of us and I don't actually need to use either of the single beds in the room." She had picked a double room because she liked the space and now she was glad she had, two of them could sleep in the beds while one slept on the couch, she could then shift into one of her animal forms and just sleep on the carpet, problem solved, she'd done it before and sleeping in any of her animal forms was much more relaxing. She noticed that Jackson had taken up his position walking backwards once again and smiled lightly, he was such a bloody dork, it was unreal! She slowly began to move off, turning back to make sure the others were following.

harley
the vampire . pansexual . location;; town . tag{s};; chelsea, jackson, ariawyn
─────────────────────────────────

harley was admittedly startled by how quickly ariawyn opened up to them (he chose to ignore chelsea's "mr. fangs" comment); it certainly didn't take much prying, nor convincing, to get her to explain herself. as suspected, she wasn't human either. a witch, in fact. there were certainly a lot of inhuman beings in this town tonight, but the vamp didn't feel like questioning it. he also chose to keep quiet concerning his rough excursion with the other shifter, not wanting to discuss it with them. for whatever reason he felt it might endanger them if they were conscious of the girl of chelsea's breed, and he wasn't sure why. it may have been his cleverness getting the better of him, and there truly was danger written all over the woman he'd fought just moments before. in recalling her, he could also remember the others who convinced her to leave him be. even more beings with unfamiliar scents, but somehow, they reeked with familiarity in his memory now. why? it took some thinking, but eventually he sorted it out. the strange people with esmeree had near to the exact smell as his new "friends". each one matched a little too perfectly for his liking. it actually gave him a mini moment of panic when he realized he'd smelt a fellow vampire too. what if he wasn't the only one left after all? but the second vampire hadn't smelt enough like an actual one to make him think too hard on it. perhaps his sense of smell was just failing him, especially since he was so hungry at the time. harley ended up blowing off his long line of thoughts with a twitch of his lip, refocusing on the task at hand. he'd probably think more on this tonight, but for now he was settled on the idea of sleeping indoors. the vamp had to admit, he was actually getting a bit chilly. the frosty wind surrounded the group of misfits, enveloping them in its frigid touch. the idea of curling up in a heated room sounded beyond splendid. his mild distrust for his temporary roommates was all but forgotten when he got himself on the mindset of warmth.

harley shook his head at jack's comment, a bit insulted by the "glorified mosquito" nickname. it was irritating, but the vamp had to admit, jack was pretty clever with his damned nicknames. it actually hadn't occurred to him that he'd yet to reveal his own name. he knew chelsea's and jackson's, and would likely learn the witch's sooner or later. but none of them knew his just yet. harley actually considered the idea that keeping his name hidden would be better, but it was nonsense. they deserved to know his identity, it made little sense to hide it. so, as he traipsed after chelsea, who led the way to her hotel, he finally decided to give a proper response. "casper isn't even close, you moron," he kidded, shaking his head at jackson, "harley; my name is harley."

the vampire slipped his hands into his jeans pockets, balling his hands into tight fists. he hadn't even noticed how numb his fingers had gotten due to the cold; he'd been a little too preoccupied by the others and their business. he attempted to think warm thoughts, including soft blankets and fireplaces. but it'd been too long since he'd encountered either of those luxuries, so it was near to impossible to envision them. thankfully though, he found distraction in the four's conversation. harley turned his head to face ariawyn once more, intently listening to her question. "i'm a vampire, if that isn't obvious enough," he replied, his fangs prominently jetting out from in-between his lips.

JACKSON
✣ jack | jekyll n' hyde | 21 | town |tagged: chelsea, harley, aria ✣
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

With the new found peace in his head, Jackson was able to get a better feel for the air around him and the little hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. His bad feeling he'd gotten earlier seemed only to be getting darker but without any proof, he decided to just keep his paranoia quietly locked away. Thing is, Jack was always used to people coming to take him away. Running and escaping harm had actually become somewhat of a hobby and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't getting pretty good at it. When Chelsea began to lead like he'd prompted, the man grinned widely upon being called an idiot by the girl. "Well, besides being an idiot I'll just say that I'm the guy that's gonna wreck everything one way or another. It's a charming personal trait of mine. Jekyll and Hyde, at your service." He said it with something between a sigh and a laugh before winking and turning back around to walk like a normal human being for once. His stomach did a weird little twist at his own words and the tilt in his mouth only faltered for a few seconds. He'd already made the deal with Hyde. That monster wouldn't be touching these guys and Jekyll's half would make damn well sure Hyde kept his promise. There was some silence to let him think before he registered that Harley had spoken to him.

"You know, I beg to differ. Six letters and the 'a' and 'e' are in the same place. If anything, I think Harley is farther away from my generous suggestion. How else are people going to confirm you're truly white as a sheet?" The man threw his head over his shoulder to look back at the vampire with a lopsided grin stealing his features yet again. His knuckles cracked against themselves and soon his hands were shoved back into the hoodie pocket where he straightened his neck and walked with a typically whimsical bounce to his step. Despite the fact he had one of the most pessimistic mindsets known to man on the inside, his outward appearance reflected anything but. It was just one of those things he did to set himself far apart from the monster in his head. But it's not like he only changed behaviors. When he was Jekyll, his body was terribly weak and vulnerable to pretty much anything. Sickness followed him like a shadow an his senses dulled considerably - which was why he needed these glasses. Hyde countered and compensated for every single one of these weaknesses and though he didn't seem to physically change to the naked eye, everything about him accelerated. All senses became heightened to the point of utter ridiculousness, his immune system kicked in faster than a rampaging bull, and his strength skyrocketed to something purely inhuman. And what did Jeykyll get? Jiminy Cricket chirping away at his overly intelligent mind twenty four seven.

When Harley called him moron, the name sounded way too familiar so he basically accepted it as his second name. Others among the list include idiot, ignoramus, blockhead, imbecile and any other delightful synonym that happened to make false claims of his current intellectual standing. Hyde especially favored 'moron'. However, as much as Jackson hated the guy, he had been stuck with him for as long as he could remember. He was like a very horrible and torturous brother no matter what way Jack looked at it. Something you're stuck with because he's a part of your life. It was mentally draining, a nightmare, and just a flat out annoyance especially since Hyde was like the mental equivalent of a murderous six year old. He shook his head away from thoughts of that guy and instead wondered what this hotel would be like. He'd be able to pay Chelsea back with money he got his hands on some way or another - specifics not required - but he didn't know what he'd do if he got there. One more night was all he had as Jekyll, he knew that from the way fatigue clawed at him. Already, Jackson was breathing heavily and his body was beginning to shake. And on the inside of his head he could have sworn he recognized Hyde chanting Tick Tock Tick Tock on loop. "So uh, how far is this hotel of yours Chelse? Don't mean to be impatient - that is, if I seem impatient in the first place - I just... Er, nevermind. Wow.. this weather is fantastic," he muttered as the chill bit into his paling skin.
