The Background
Personality: She is very sweet, yet she is like she should be as a "student". She is stuck up, and rude sometimes. Though, she doesn't see why they can't be friends with the "townies". She does have multiple "townie" friends, and intends to keep it this way. Although, if the leader finds out about this, she will be in big trouble. She is very smart, yet kind of crazy. This reason will be in the history.
History: When she was a little girl, she was sent to the school that all of the rich kids went. Not for any specific reason, but because they just didn't want to put up with her. Although, they didn't send her little brother there. She got so mad, and sad. She couldn't believe why they just did that. She was there for a long time, and it made her go a little insane, because she didn't ever get to see her family. Although, not the bad insane, just that she has flashbacks at the most random times. She also has night terrors.

[ ugh, I had to post for at least one of them. Posted from my iPod so, no fancy format or anything and will probably be the only post from me until tomorrow or later. ]

Adam Darko
Heavy combat boots thudded against the cold tile floor of Coates Academy, the boy anchored to them had the appeal of an angry wolf. One that would have the fibres of a person screaming at them to leave him alone. His skin was ghostly pale, his hair a thick, coarse, raven coloured mess atop his head. His eyes were dark, vicious and a scowl was etched into his face.
Adam Darko. The school wild card. He sauntered down the halls towards the cafeteria, headphones crammed into his ears. Avenged Sevenfold blasted through his ears and that was all he heard, ignoring the teachers who scolded him for not wearing the uniform. But of course he wasn't wearing it, he never did and he never would. Over his dead body. Instead he wore shredded jeans, a Nirvana t-shirt with his cargo jacket overtop and of course his sturdy combat boots.
He hadn't been going to Coates for long, a few months maybe, but already he'd been in plenty of fights and caused a little too much mayhem. He ignored those around him, girls who fawned over the bad boy he was, the teachers, the only people he acknowledged tended to get a fist to the face instead. He entered the cafeteria, stalking to the counter and grabbing as much pizza as he could pile onto his plate before retreating to a secluded corner to eat by himself. He glared at everyone through cold eyes, narrowing them at anyone who looked at him. The hot pepperoni pizza was scarfed down his gullet in minutes and he was gone again. Out of the cafeteria, and marching down the halls towards the exit. He didn't quite get that far though, three teachers ahead of him, laughing disappears simultaneously. Their coffee cups dropped to the floor, spilling the hot liquid everywhere. For a minute he stood rooted to the spot, not sure what he had just witnessed, but from the looks of panicked students rushing down the hallways he wasn't just hallucinating. Gritting his teeth he continued towards the exit, if teachers were disappearing then he was going home as he'd intended.

Avery smiled to the girl, happy that he had calmed her initial panic so she could think clearly. He had figured out his power for the most part, it was pretty simple, but amazing to him at the same time. "Rose..." He said softly, letting her name sink in before she stepped away to walk towards the staff lounge where most teachers hung out during free period. He followed Rose and the other girl, who he hadn't introduced himself to yet. "Hi, I'm Avery." He said to her with a quick, shy wave, still walking behind Rose as she lead on. He looked into the now barren lounge. He stood puzzled for a moment. "Hold on, Rose. Maybe this isn't so bad. Think about it."

Maia Stevens – Student – Growing/Controlling Plants – Location: Local High School

Maia glanced at Avery as he spoke. "I'm Maia, nice to meet you." She said quietly, looking around the lounge. There was a broken coffee cup shattered on the ground and food sitting on the table undisturbed. All the adults were gone, seemingly disappeared just like the principal. Hearing Avery's words, she looked at him in surprise. "How could this be a good thing?? We depend on them for food, clean water, everything! What if all the grown-ups are gone? Food will get scarce, we won't have medicine, electricity will shut down sooner or later, everything will go to pieces." She ranted, her mind spinning with all the implications of a life without adults. What about the younger children? Those still at home, or at a daycare. A thought occurred to her and she pulled her phone out of her pocket, turning it on. After messing with it for a minute, she turned it off and stuffed it back in her pocket. "There's no reception and I can't access the internet." She muttered, biting her lower lip nervously.

Avery crossed his arms, defensive. "The things that need being done, we will do. it's not the end of the world, its just change. Everything will be fine, nothing to panic about. There are a few concerns you mentioned, but I don't think it's nothing we can't handle." He clarified to his prior statement. Ok, so the adults who provided everything for them were gone. Who's to say they wouldn't come back in a day or two? Who's to say this wouldn't all blow over? Avery wasn't one to go into shock five minutes after something changed. He would sit back to observe first before making any rash judgments.

Maia shook her head at Avery's words. Unbelievable. This guy thought they could raise all their own food, handle deadly diseases, and still maintain a semblance of society? The way the grownups had disappeared had defied all laws of physics. How could that be okay? The world as they knew it was crumbling around them and there was "nothing to panic about". Good luck with that. He was right in one respect though, freaking out wouldn't help anything. She took a deep breath, looking around the break room once more. "Okay. We have to assume that the grown ups are gone for good and plan accordingly. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Someone needs to address the rest of the students. Hopefully they are all still here. If we dissolve into anarchy..." She trailed off, leaving the rest to the imagination.

Maia turned to look at Rose, hoping for some backup against Avery, just in time to hear her words and watch her run out the door. Her words struck Maia like a blow to the chest. These were their families that had disappeared. Her parents were all the way in Sequim, so in her heart she could pretend they were still okay, since there was no proof otherwise. She could disconnect from what was happening emotionally and deal with it on a purely logical basis. Everyone else though, they were looking at the loss of their closest family members. She suddenly felt extremely insensitive, looking at Avery apologetically. Turning, she followed Rose out of the building.

Running out of the school, she paused to look around a bit. She knew which way Rose was heading, but she was pretty bad at athletics. There was no way she could keep up with Rose on foot. Heading towards the greenhouse, she stepped inside, looking around in desperation. What could she do? She was helpless in a situation like this. All she knew were her plants. Grabbing an empty pot, she threw it against the ground in anger, seething. Why? Why the **** did something like this have to happen now? Tears prickled in her eyes, a combination of fear and anger, but she dashed them away before they could fall. She stood there for a minute, staring at the broken pieces of pottery on the ground, desperately trying to calm down.

Her hand brushed against her side, and something went 'clink'. Frowning, she reached in and fished out the keys she had taken from the SUV. Just a couple pieces of metal, and yet they suddenly opened up completely new paths. With these she could run, get as far away as possible, take care of only herself. Or she could stay, and attempt to could help others. One choice was more sensible, but morally could she live with herself? Grumbling under her breath, she locked up the greenhouse and sprinted to the SUV. Climbing into the driver's seat, she stuck the key in the ignition and the SUV growled to life. Thank goodness she had already gotten her license. She tore out of the school driveway, heading towards Rose's place. It took her less than three minutes to catch up to the other girl, not having to worry about speed limits, and she rolled down the window as she pulled up next to Rose. "Hop in"
