"Thanks," Emily said as she took the dried vegetation and crumbled it into a small ball of grass and twigs. She then put it in a dip in the floor, and after striking the flint together a few times, sent sparks showering over the tinder. The ball of dry plant matter quickly caught fire, and the bird let out a barely audible sigh of relief as the fire sent light dancing around the shallow cave. However, even though the fire had been started, Emily knew it would need more fuel or it would burn out soon. Luckily, however, she did have the forethought to keep larger twigs and even some cactus pads and Joshua tree branches in her little shelter. After setting up some of the longer twigs and yucca leaves around the growing flame, she sat back against the sandy wall and blinked a few times, letting her eyes adjust to the light.
If it rains, you're getting drenched. Emily stared at Zyr for a moment, then couldn't help but to let out a chuckle at that. "Yeah, right. 'If it rains.' Kitty, we're in the middle of the desert. There are bad storms out here every decade or so, if we're lucky. I don't think we need to worry much about getting wet." It had rained a few times since Emily had been brought to the Dome, but never had there been a storm to worry about- it was mostly just a few light sprinklings. Wind, however, could oftentimes be a problem. Thankfully, the air was still tonight. "Oh!" She suddenly exclaimed, sitting up a bit and focusing on the cat girl. "You have questions, don't you?"
