________calix found himself a bit of a harsh skeptic as julia offered her hand to him, intending for him to shake it. that had always been such a peculiar, humanly gesture. mankind shook one another's hands as a form in greeting, or introduction. some did it to present respect, or make another individual feel important. it was odd, and hardly scratched the surface when it came to the multiple humanitarian things society did which puzzled him. nonetheless, he had to follow through with their customs. he extended his own, his lifeless skin making contact with julia's warmth. "thank you," he added, pleased to hear she'd already decided she liked him. the last thing he wished to do was form an enemy, so the fact he'd created a companion directly from the start was bound to come in handy. although, it didn't look like he was the only one with such luck. as julia insinuated, the others in the large group of mutants had begun squaring off into similar pairs. some looked to be getting along rather nicely, going about their lives as if this spontaneous catastrophe hardly bothered them and their confidence. cal was certain he wouldn't like many of the surrounding mutants, but it was certainly worth a shot. he figured he might as well attempt to get to know them, or else sit in the outskirts, lost and unaware of any of his "opponents'" powers. he desperately needed to get on with things, or else risk being victimized as weak or small. he felt he was the exact opposite, and didn't fear informing others of such.
________upon julia's logical request, he selected a random pairing of mutants. a girl and boy, who looked to have made a rapid amount of progress since he'd first sighted them. they'd already built a bloody fire, as if preparing for an episode of survivor. so, their obvious tactic was to, quite literally, thrive on the island to the best of their ability. without the intention of forming outer bonds, they'd become ensnared by the distraction of their own busy work. calix couldn't tell if he found that movement foolish, or genius. at least they seemed to care much about living on, even in spite of their tricky dilemma. while cal didn't require too much to carry on, he could understand where a humanly-structured mutant would come from. they required the warmth, the shelter, the water, and the food to keep their heart pumping in their chests. calix required a decent temperature, no water whatsoever, and no food, and a cautious eye. it might've sounded like less hassle, but for him it proved to be equally as difficult.
________the android hesitated for a moment, squinting thoughtfully at the two mutants. he wasn't positive he wished to join them in their quick attempt at survival, but curiosity got the best of him. he found his legs moving before he informed them to, stepping tactfully in their direction. he presumed that so long as she held the desire, julia would follow. he trailed forward, approaching them with a hint of caution. he hadn't a clue what to expect from them, and whether they'd be hostile or somewhat peaceful. the reactions tended to vary, especially since he wasn't even structurally human. some thought he was a disgusting hunk of metal, and that he was sent in to spy on other mutants. it wouldn't be the first time he would be accused of being a fraud, and that he was only there to feed information out to the humans who watched over them. he was a stupid droid with good programming, and all the "right" things to say. they were obviously so wrong.
________"i do hope i am not intruding on anything," he spoke up, chocolate eyes scanning the two unfamiliar beings before him. he crossed his arms over his chest, able to sense his unusual and robotic voice thrumming. you could feel the many things clicking within him if you rested your hand against certain parts of his physique. it was much like a substitute pulse, making him appear alive. "you seem to have your hands full. do you require any assistance?" the droid questioned, quirking his lip slightly. his gaze was hooded and casual, although observant and watchful all the same.

Mackenzie Vans/ 22/ Male/ Healing factor
Tags: finally on the island

The hours flew by as Mackenzie laid in his cage. He was marginally aware of what was going on around him. They were hauling his crate onto a helicopter. The tarp that had been placed over it made it hard to tell, but he was pretty sure the flight out was long. The wolfish man could only curl up and hope that whatever they were doing would finally kill him. The swimming feeling of the sedatives in his system made things not feel so awful for once.

The next thing he knew, he was falling. Mackenzie flopped around in his cage as it tumbled through the air, finally righting itself when a parachute ejected overhead. He sank slowly through the sky, until he felt the gentle bump of the ground beneath him. The parachute drifted down, halfway covering his cage. Kenzie was too drugged up to tell where he was, but he hardly cared anyway. This was probably some kind of sick joke.

He closed his eyes, the sun beaming on top of his cage and warming his skin. It had been so long since he'd felt warm....it took him back to the coldest winter he could remember.

His Nana had a crackling fire in the fireplace, and they'd just had dinner. Kenzie was curled up next to fire when Nana set a mug of hot chocolate in front of him. He sat up, grinning ear to ear as he picked it up.

"Thanks Nana!" Kenzie happily sipped from the mug. Nana chuckled, one hand stroking his hair as she walked by.

"Don't drink it too fast or you'll burn your tongue."

Kenzie didn't realize the tears were streaking down his cheeks until they'd formed a small puddle. He sniffed, wiping his face on his shirt. The young man shifted in the crampt cage as best he could and tried to get comfortable. Maybe if he was lucky, he could sink back into his memories again before the drugs wore off.

Chelsea watched for a moment as Liam quickly finished with the building of the fire, he was finished just after she was. She nodded in agreement as he spoke. "That's true. There's bound to be a water source nearby, they wouldn't just drop us here with no water." Then again they probably would, "As for something to boil it in the best we could probably hope for is something that's washed up on the shore. If all else fails then it wouldn't really do us too much damage to drink the water, unless there really is no fresh water in this Godforsaken place." They were getting quite a bit done. Still it just seemed like they were on one of those crappy survivor episodes. She heard movement behind them. A few metres back from their current position.

She waited a moment and heard what appeared to be two figures slowly approaching, casual, not stalking. She turned and was met with the sight of what appeared to be a young man and a young woman. She stood up defensively and realised how small she was compared to the male, she had always been short and it had never been a disadvantage, in fact it helped. Her opponents would underestimate her, allowing her to use that to her own advantage. Before she could say anything the male spoke up. There was something... off about his voice, not threatening just... different. "Intruding? Not particularly. Who are you?" She asked, ignoring his second question, an offer of help. She had her hands clenched in light fists, something made her uncomfortable about the male's gaze.

________calix noted the weighted suspicion in the female's voice, watching intently as she turned to face him. she was a great deal shorter than he was, as he still stood at his full 6'3 without trouble. compared to him, she resembled a young child. although, her eye was certainly something which he was perplexed by. not all mutants held obvious physical attributes which made them different, much like julia. calix didn't have anything either, asides from his voice. but that was different, as if he refused to speak then no one would know the wiser until they brushed up against him. but anyway, the android couldn't find it within himself to not empathize with the female's caution. none of the mutants knew who could be entrusted, or who couldn't. he, very easily, could transform into a rather petrifying threat. that was the luck of his power being mental, as none initially suspected much from him. okay, he could shoot lasers out of his eyes. big whoop! oh, right, and let us not forget the fact he could lift anything with nothing but his "mind".
________"i am calix," he momentarily paused, inspecting the situation carefully, "it is an acronym." the droid deemed it necessary to explain that whenever he gave off his name. somehow, he felt it mended the fact that it was such an odd thing to hear. calix. it was certainly unique, and all that he had to identify himself with. he wasn't much else, anyway. no family, no last name, no nothing. without the label of his name, there was an aspect of invisibility that he felt.
________he then gestured for the unknown female to speak, insinuating she ought to give him her name in return. "what is your own?"

    name: Julia Maxwell
    age: 20 years old.

    health: 90% health
    feeling: wary, open-
    minded
    location: just arrived
    alias: copy-cat

As Calix walked over, Julia followed at a slower pace. She was struggling a bit with the wind, as it was rather harsh on the beach itself. Grateful for the cover of trees, the brunette slowly put her hair back into a reasonable state of being, arriving at nearly the same time as her newly-found semi-robotic friend. Stepping forward, she found her eyes warily looking through the underbrush for predators. They had no idea where they were, who brought them here, or what kind of monsters could be lurking in the shadows, so Julia figured they should all be on their guard. Jump-scares had always been her least-favorite part of horror films. Most of the time she was able to distance herself from the film and its story, but that meant little to nothing when it came to the slow build up. Sure, there was even a formula for that, but even if you knew how it was going to happen, in the heat of the moment and the uncertainty of what was jumping out at you, it was still very effective. Just when you let your guard down, too. That's why she almost always had her guard up, but she lowers it to appear more friendly to these two mutants - a guy and girl, both of whom had been pretty successful in starting a camp already, though Julia surmised they should probably move more inland after sunrise.

Waiting for Calix to introduce himself, she echoed his greeting, offering a small wave as she nervously places her hands on her hips. "Hi there! I'm Julia. It's... Not an acronym." she joked, offering a small sigh after her smile. "I'm sorry, this isn't the time for jokes. I hope you don't mind us intruding." Her startlingly bright blue eyes gazed over both of them quickly, waiting for them to introduce themselves individually before another peace offering and then hopefully they could start planning out what they were going to do. Looking around continuously, she slowly wrapped her arms around herself as the shock of the situation truly began to set in. They were app trapped on an unknown island in the middle of God knows where, and not a clue of who did this to them or what was going to happen next. All the unknown variables made her incredibly nervous, but she silently demanded that she remained strong, for the others' sake if not her own. After all, she was hoping to get off this island as quickly as possible - for everyone's sake. She did her best to stay away from other mutants in general after finding out the more she accumulated powers, the higher potential she turned into a giant nuke was. Endangering others was the last thing she wanted, and yet here she was with a whole bunch of mutants. "I think our goal should be to stick together and try to get off this island as quickly as possible." she voiced after a small and brief silence. "The last thing we want is for whoever put us here's plans to go through the way they want them too..."

Liam Hooley

location: island jungle / code name: morpheus / power: illusion / tagged: Chelsea, Julia, Calix / mood: weary

Liam listened as Chelsea spoke about the best they could hope for was some kind of water source on the island that wasn't salt water. "Or we'll end up putting out shells to catch it when it rains..." He mused not entirely pleased about the idea of that if he was being entirely honest. He let out a breath running a hand along the back of his neck with a sigh. Suddenly hearing the sound of footsteps Liam turned as the man asked if he required assistance. "Prick..." He thought to himself. Though the smirk that crept onto the mans face couldn't be stopped as Chelsea began to eye the other man wearily and snap back at him slightly, ignoring the assistance part.

Obviously they had been just fine before these other two showed up. It took Liam a moment to even see the woman behind the clot pole of a man. "Julia, very pretty darling." He responded with a wink and a smirk as she began to speak quite nervously. "Now now sweet heart. Keep stammering like that and others may just think that you're... Rattled." He said the last part in practically a purr the corners of his mouth turning up as he stood from where he had been knelt by the fire. "Calix, an acronym, well that would make sense considering you're so... Inhuman in mannerisms." The man said as he circled the other two for a moment. His eyes narrowed in and out as he imagined the sky going dark, and thus is seemed to. The light seemed to make himself and Chelsea vulnerable in a way. Something told him that he wasn't able to trust these two the way he did the other woman, and the way he had felt in the shadows earlier- well it was just a feeling but something told him that she too thrived off of them.

Keeping the illusion of a brewing storm up he pretended to look up at the sky skeptically. "Hm, quite the turn of the weather now isn't it. What was it you suggested deary, that we all 'stick together'?" Liam mused his eyes flicking over Julia's way. "Tell me now darling, does the dark scare you, make your skin crawl a bit... Makes it difficult to form relationships and how can you expect us to trust you both without knowing your powers? After all you just walked up on us loves." Liam mused as he watched the pair in front of him. He wouldn't reveal his powers- not fully. Just he could tell than that he could make illusions but not that he was able to manifest them to make a person hurt themselves. And he knew that Chelsea would probably be able to make up something herself.

Chelsea's eyes o the woman who stood behind the tall man, a pretty thing, not physically threatening though, then again she knew from herself that physicality was never always the way to tell someone's strength or threat level. She listened as the two of them introduced themselves. An acronym? So he really wasn't human? Then again none of them were, but was he even alive? She decided that she didn't like either of them much, the man's offer for help seemed slightly too patronising for her liking and the woman seemed a little too unsure of herself. Neither of which were traits she liked in potential allies. Then the woman said something that surprised her, stick together, work together. Had she no idea what was going on here? Before she could make a reply Liam made his move. First with flirtation and then taking the guy Calix down a couple of pegs.

She felt the world around her darkening, but it was different from usual. Her eyes drifted to look at Liam, was he doing this? Creating a storm? His next response made her sure that it was him, slightly over the top. "The man makes a good point, you can't ally yourself with people whom you don't know well." Then again she didn't mention how she didn't even know what Liam's powers were, she had some suspicions but hadn't had any certainty yet. She had already decided what she would say was her lower. Black fire, not the full extent of her shadow abilities and kind of downplayed them a little, just what she wanted. "Not to mention, sticking together won't work too well for what is actually going on. Hadn't you figured it out yet Julia dear? We're here to fight. To fight and potentially kill each other. All for the enjoyment of the rich and powerful. Alliances are not wanted. You're just naïve if you think otherwise. And since I was asked, names Chelsea." She said, her voice holding a sarcastic tone as she spoke, "Pleasure to meet you."

________calix held no obvious reaction as the other unknown boy proceeded to, quite literally, circle him like an animal. it seemed to him that this man saw himself as the predator, and them as the prey. if that was the case, then he would be horribly mistaken. although he didn't exactly consider himself a "predator", he also didn't find himself to be a weak little animal. he was so much more than a pile of loose circuits and wires. and, anyway, what he was tended to come in handy. like their current situation, for example. the man was going on about how the weather had altered, casually acting as though that were something they ought to fear. yet, for him, nothing had happened. the sky looked exactly the same, and he didn't even have to look at it to identify that. he kept his stony chocolate gaze fastened on the man instead, now slightly miffed at his confidence. he was clearly attempting to intimidate julia and himself. he couldn't be sure if it was working on his female acquaintance, but he knew it was bouncing right off of him.
________the android never had to cast a single glance upwards to understand exactly what was going on. he'd been involved in the fighting rings for a long enough time to start identifying and judging powers. also, he was an extremely observant sort. few things could slide past him, and this man's crooked jokes were no exception. his face remained rather expressionless, as he was primarily hoping to disguise his overbearing consciousness until the correct moment. they'd all clearly come to the "genius" conclusion that he wasn't totally human, so gold stars to each of them. but none had been able to totally decipher the sort of thing he was, and he wished for it to be up to him when that changed. but someone like the man before him could be considered a fool, even, for so quickly bringing his powers to attention. although, most likely couldn't have understood that what the man was doing was fake. illusions. a rather intriguing power, enabling you to fabricate what your victim's greatest fears are. you bring them forth in a physical form, and it feels so real. some could even take the fear, and make it so lifelike, that it could bring realistic harm to the selected victim. there was ultimately no escape then, as it was impossible to see past such a solid illusion. only flaw there was that calix, on the other hand, couldn't even begin to comprehend such an emotion as fear. he could hardly even theoretically "feel" much of anything, as he had no heart to skip a beat if he were nervous, no pulse to quicken, no blood to boil. if he weren't an android, he would've been dead.
________he placed his hands into his jean pockets, settling his piercing gaze on the man who was trying to use the "new weather patterns" as a scare factor. "false. the weather has not changed in the slightest. there is not a dark cloud in the sky. funny you should mention that there is one, though. also rather funny that chelsea chose to agree with you on it. so, either you are both bone dead stupid, or the one attempting to pass this off as real is an illusionist." it was then that he smiled cunningly, crossing his arms over his chest. "you would be correct, however, in your assumption of my inhuman mannerisms. i am an android, sir. i cannot perceive fear." he shot a glance towards julia, before forcing it back on the two strangers before him. "i do not even know your name, illusionist, so how intriguing it is that you decide to inform me we should get to know one another properly. but if we have decided this is going to be a game of show-and-tell then so be it." the droid then proceeded to raise his arm, casually placing his opened palm beside his head. with his eyes still stonily attached to two before him, he summoned an object to him. it was a stick directly from the blazing fire the strangers had successfully crafted, and it now sat in his grip. the fire which rested on the large limb twinkled ominously, and he gave it a careless flick to allow some of the ashy bark to tumble to the floor. "chelsea," he hummed, no longer looking at either of the newcomers, "darling, if you are that opposed to forming alliances, then why did you go and start one with mr. illusion? because last i checked, and i do not know this for sure, correct me if i am wrong... my programming can be a bit rusty at times since i rarely refer back to it, but when two individuals proceed to work in harmony to create things like this," he gestured towards the flaming stick in his hand, "then i do believe that that, my dear, is an alliance."

Julia felt herself take a small step closer to Calix, a bit unnerved by this pair of mutants. If they were attempting to appear intimidating, then they were doing a pretty good job. The brunette didn't know why the girl appeared so hostile, but it rubbed her the wrong way. As the young man started to circle them, she frowned slightly, tilting her head in mild confusion. What had they done to warrant this... this suspicion - this disrespect? She couldn't think of anything, and yet here they were. As the young man flirted with her, she felt her face flush in embarrassment - considering she didn't do too well with things of this matter. Biting her lip, she silently prayed that the cover and shade of trees would help hiding her burning face as she composed herself after her embarrassment. The sky seemed to grow dark the more he talked, and her blue eyes widened in surprise. Could he... Control the weather? If this was true, they would both be facing a formidable opponent, should he choose to attack. He continued to keep his name to himself as he and the girl (now identified as Chelsea) traded off in their little 'scare-tactics', though Julia dos her best not to continue letting them get under her skin. Whatever they could do, she could match. That's what she was... a copy cat. She frowned at them both, opening her mouth to respond as they both openly talked down to both her and Calix, until the young man beside her spoke up, and she looked up at him as she allowed him to continue. 'He's... an illusionist...' Julia thought silently, slowly looking to the other young man as Calix spoke about the truth. As a robot (android, to be precise), Calix's eyes didn't believe, or really, couldn't even see what the other young man had created simply because it only effected a human brain.

Calix seemed to serve them on a silver platter, and Julia's blue eyes remained wide in surprise as he telekinetically called a stick from the fire to him, holding it up for inspection as he did so. Relaxing a bit more, the brunette looked to them both before deciding she too should probably check Chelsea's powers before Calix and her could be surprised and taken advantage of. Closing her eyes, she felt a heat behind them, and she held out her hands, half-expecting to find small flames burning there, so when she opened her eyes to find the shadows collecting and writhing in her hands, she gasped slightly, shaking them out and looking back at the other female that was with them. "You have embrokinesis..." she stated lightly, the word sounding almost foreign on her lips as she looked to the other female. Taking a small step back towards Calix, she tugged on his arm slightly. "I... I think maybe it would be best if we left. I don't think they're going to help us get off this island..." Julia said softly, her brows furrowing in worry as she looked back to the two. Considering how hostile they were acting, she couldn't help but feel they might respond better under different circumstances.

Liam Hooley

location: island jungle / code name: morpheus / power: illusion / tagged: Chelsea, Julia, Calix / mood: amused

Watching the android speak the man didn't let a single word phase him. "Interesting- not often that I face a being that is unable to fall under my influence..." He stated as he watched the other man telekinetically pull a stick from the fire. And a good power this man had too. Unfortunately he had very little desire to be allied with something that could not be phased by his ability. Far too risky to keep such a person close by. As Chelsea spoke he watched the pair in front of him and smirked a bit wider at the androids response. "Yes, in the most basic of terms, I suppose that working together to survive could be considered an alliance. Though we aren't naive. There's no way that we're going to get off this island- not anytime soon at least." Liam mused as he looked at the two in front of him.

"And you Julia, you can sense her powers?" He asked as the woman spoke saying that Chelsea's gift was embrokinesis. Well that would explain the feeling he got when the shadows touched him. "Now now, no need to run so soon, after all, your robotic friend here seems to enjoy analyzing his way to believing he has the upper hand." Liam said looking over to Calix. "Sorry to start off on the wrong foot mate, but you did come up on us, and there are quite a few mutants who enjoy the thrill of the game- of the kill. Hard to tell from the looks who's who, yeah?" The man moved his gaze back to Julia. "The name's Liam, and as your friend here stated, I am an illusionist." He said and with a glance to the right he made a horse appear, and only a few seconds later, it was screaming out in terror, the sound of dying as it's skin rotted off of it's bone and it crumbled to the ground.

"Sorry to come off as rude love, only trying to push some buttons to see where your head was at." He said sticking a hand out to the other woman for her to shake. He was interested, could she just sense their powers, or could she use them... Perhaps a touch would reaffirm one way or the other. Besides, a handshake wasn't all too intimidating. And to be completely honest if these two weren't in the mood to kill and truly looking for a way off this island- well then they weren't all bad in his book. Looking over to Chelsea he was trying to read her stoic expression. Did she want to make friends, or scare them away.
