xxxxxit didn't take long for two others to file in, the king had probably called for his brother, that was usually the only reason petyr was even here on most occasional. soon enough his attention was brought back to the king as the man spoke and then soon addressed him. the tournament? talk about forgetting something like that because he had. the knight knew he had little time to really decide and there was no reason for him not to so his decision was made. his swordsmanship was far better than most but the twenty seven year old was not one to brag or show off minus when he was sparring with others, then he tended to show off a little, he got carried away sometimes. the knight had drifted into his own thoughts as the king continued to speak but he heard what he needed to. when the conversation turned to bran and then the prince, he stayed silent, his gaze glancing towards each man that was addressed before the king finished.

then came the prince's words and he also chuckled at the reaction petyr was giving the king then elyana spoke up regarding the prince. milo had yet to speak, secretly amused with the situation but it didn't show on the knight's face. when it seemed they all had put their word in, he spoke up himself, addressing the king as he gave a response. "i will be taking a part in the tournament." he stated before recalling what else cyr had said to him. right, running errands, he had no idea where duraal was so he probably wouldn't go searching for her first, it would take up the majority of his time finding the knight anyway. whenever he needed her, she was no where to be found, but of course there wasn't much he could do about that. finding ketsiah would be quicker, he knew most places that the princess frequented. returning his full attention back to cyr, he spoke again. "is that all, your majesty?" he asked the king.

lady janythra tholus
22 years ⋗ hopeful ⋗ walking ⋗ main hall⋗ tagged; group, elyana

janythra slipped into the main hall, just behind petyr, who was once again late. she was quiet and quick, moving herself around the edge of the room, giving the king room to spout off his orders for the day. as soon as she could she made eye contact with her dear friend elyana, as if to tell here that she was here and there was at least one friend in the room. the poor woman, she thought with a tiny sigh that was more like an exhalation than anything. with no baby, especially no male heir, the people were starting to murmur against the king, even though that could wind them up in the gallows or worse. it didn't matter. cyr has lost control of the beast that is panara, she thought as she watched the expressions of the men receiving their assignments. as always milo was respectful and straightforwards and petyr had other plans.

the blonde woman straightened her back and gave elyana another glance. she was always surprised to see her friend so complacent and wifely around the king. when i knew her as she really is, she was a force to be reckoned with, she thought pressing her lips together slightly. now she is the perfect wife, doting and quiet and supportive. perhaps that is why i have not had any offer of marriage. janythra shook her head a little, dispelling such thoughts and making the curled blonde hair that was not pinned up in a bun bounce. she knew who she was and was proud to be the outspoken and honest woman that she was. nothing could change her, not a man, not a monster, not a mob.

Petyr liked to believe that everyone in Panara knew of his dislike for the Queen. Whether his brother liked to come to terms with it or not, it was true. He despised Cyr’s wife. Especially since she always seemed to have something to say to him, be it an insult or retort. She had a sharp tongue and an acerbic tone, but neither of these ever got Petyr. (Honestly, he could care less about either of these things.) It was obvious to Petyr that Elyana held zero fondness towards him as well, which made him smile. He loved nothing more than to get under people’s skin and make them hate him so. The Prince also held fast to the idea that he would make a wonderful ruler. Silently, he prayed that Elyana was infertile and that Cyr would just get rid of her so that he could find a better Queen. And if it was Cyr whom was infertile, then Petyr could mount his position upon the throne, and provide an heir for his own reign. Not that he would overthrow his brother or anything, but he certainly did revel in the idea of ruling Panara. It was every young man’s dream, was it not? Ruling a kingdom? And Petyr was just the same as the next ambitious man: He wanted glory, fame, notoriety. He was glad that Cyr had chosen him as prince, as heir until the couple would produce a son. If it were to be a daughter, then he could tutor the daughter and convince Cyr to marry her to another Kingdom to surmount peace with them. Often times than not, Petyr was referred to as a wolf by not just the people inside the castle, but in the city as well. Despite the obvious vile way they spoke this nickname, Petyr wore it with pride. He would be the wolf, the harbinger. If Petyr was the wolf, what did that make Elyana? Panara belonged to the Lecuyers, not her. Even if she seemed to abide by the idea that she ruled in Cyr’s place - which she didn’t.

Then the queen spoke up and out against the words he had given. His brown eyes turned to her, strict in the brief silence. His head tilted slightly, and he slowly grinned. You have no choice on going. Is that so? Petyr straightened his posture: pulled back his shoulders and tilted his chin up. ”I make certain that I am present at the tournament,” he paused, bowing in a mocking action, ”Your Grace. However, I may be a bit late. I thought it would be appreciated that I warn the both of you so it’s no surprise.” There was always a familiar laugh in his voice, as if everything he spoke was sarcastic, a joke. This tone seemed to get him in trouble, but he usually was able to get his way with it.

Truth be told, Prince Petyr had contemplated competing in the tournament. It would be a wonderful opportunity for him to show his strength to the citizens of Panara. They needed to know that their kingdom was in strong hands. A smirk tugged on the corner of his lips as he mulled over Elyana’s words. He didn’t mind what she had said, ever. It was her way of saying it that always irked him to no end. He bowed once more to her, straightening. ”I suppose it would be beneficial to participate in the tournament, then. You can have Janythra add my name in, then.” He tossed his gaze to his brother, who hopefully wouldn’t mind his decision. At least he would attending, even if he was fighting. It wasn’t unheard of when a knight or otherwise died in these tournaments. They could end violent, especially with the sheer amoung of hotheaded young knights they had recently brought into the guard. It should be interesting, but Petyr wasn’t worried about his safety. He knew how to take care of himself. (And, what was that? Sir Milo would be in said tournament? Perfect.) ”Of course, only if that’s all right and well with my dear brother,” he said, adding a sad lilt to his voice at the end of the sentence. Why wouldn’t Cyr go for him participating in the tournament? Sure, there was a small possibility that he could get injured, but he wasn’t taking a large risk there.

      CYRICUS OF PANARA !
      ━━━━━━━( king | 25 y.o | tags; people in the main hall )━━
The line of Lécuyer was one that Cyr was generally proud of. Their father, King Markus, was a good ruler, generally loved by the people. His untimely death had brought a wave of sadness across the kingdom, both in the castle and out. Cyr wanted to live up to his father's name more than anything, and that was difficult. When he had first came to power, things had been pretty rough. Small rebellions piped up across the country, saying he had been the one to murder his father -- which was utter stupidity. King Markus had been a father, a friend, and most of all, a teacher to him. Previously, the king had been one to ride out and meet his people, no matter who they were or what they did. That was how he himself wanted to rule, and if that meant holding tournaments such as the one today, then that was how he would rule. But the politics often tired Cyr, and he felt like he had little time for anything else; his wife, for example, was yet to fall pregnant. If it were his fault that they had no heir, then his rule was not solidified. Sometimes, he felt as though the queen was more competent than him, though he would never admit it. Brown tinged viridian eyes wandered out of the window for a minute, as Cyr contemplated the future of his bloodline. Would his brother take power if that was what the common folk wanted? If civil war raged the land, would he be able to keep his throne? All the ifs and buts and maybes filled his mind, drowning him in worries. Drifting slowly back into reality, Cyr offered a weak smile to his brother.

"Petyr," he said, his voice low and had a tone of warning. Watching the boy's mind work like clockwork, Cyr raised one eyebrow. At the same time, he adjusted his crown on his head, something of habit that he did quite often. Unruly locks of dark satin curled above and beneath it, and just like his life, they were full of chaos. When his brother said he would be taking part, Cyr sat up a little straighter, casting a glance in his wife's direction. People died in competitions like these, if they weren't careful. The king had faith in Petyr, yes, but the worry was still present. Soldiers were disposable. Brothers were not. "If you insist." The king replied, his voice sounding somewhat exhausted. His expression changed when Milo also stated that he would be taking part. Good, the king thought to himself. There will be representatives from the other kingdoms. We need to show our strength, and Milo is the one I would trust to show this. "And Sir Milo, I expect great things from you. You may go." A flick of his hand indicated he was done with the man.

Janythra had appeared behind Petyr, giving him a look that he often saw on her face. It had a hint of distrust, and Cyr knew that that was because she didn't really work for him, more for his wife. But he was glad that his wife had close friends like her, so he gave her a nod of greeting nonetheless. "Lady Janythra, my wife will discuss the plans I have for you today," he stated, beginning to get up. As he did so, he grinned at his wife pleasantly. "I shall see you later, my dear." Cyr whispered, before walking past Petyr. "C'mon then, you." He muttered, ruffling his brother's hair as he wandered past.

✩ Amaia Lozier ~ One. ✩

Amaia had locked herself in her bedroom, with her dog, the night before after having an argument with a knight that just would not let her go out for a night stroll, with Chester, and this was preceded by an argument that she could not win with her sister and her brother-in-law. She had snatched some food for herself from the kitchen (which had run out fairly quickly when Chester had scoffed down most of it) and she had read by candle light until the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say, she fell asleep in the most unlady-like position and was awoken by the sound of her door being broken open.

Her nurse-maid ran to her bed-side and reprimanded her for locking herself in her room and making her worry so. Amaia honestly couldn't care less and tuned out the sound of her voice after a while. She was sent to bathe and was scrubbed from head to toe, then was thrown into a dress suitable for the day and her hair plaited to the side. The maids really rushed to have her ready in time, but Amaia couldn't care much for the announcement and ended up sneaking out with Chester while everyone was in the castle listening to the big announcement. Amaia still felt upset about the night before anyway, but the thought of a little freedom for a little while made her feel more comforted.

She had put on a long dark cape with a hood to disguise herself, made her way down to the village through the forest on foot and looked through the village market, trading for new books to read and some sweet- looking red apples that just looked too juicy to resist. She snuck into the castle and made it back just in time to walk into Milo, the same knight from the previous knight. Upon bumping into him, she dropped her basket and all of its contents spilled onto the floor...

xxxxxit seemed that everything was falling into place for today. the tournament and such was being taken care of and he had just got his blade repaired. it seemed nothing would be going wrong anytime soon so when cyr spoke and dismissed him, he nodded his head and gave one last bow before he went and left the main hall. it didn't take the knight long to strike up a conversation with the guards outside the doors and when he was finished, he turned to leave and find the princess, he'd worry over finding his second later, the woman was hard enough to find as it was so he wouldn't stress over finding out if she would be participating. the fact that the prince was though, that surprised him mostly because the king was allowing it. many died in these tournaments because half of them were hot blooded young knights trying to prove their worth, he had been no different when he was younger. to milo, everything was progressing a lot better than it usually did for these things, he just hoped no one would be taking anything to far. he'd probably spar a little before the match ups were held, though in all reality, he didn't need to. he was confident enough in his skills but practicing got him this far and he wasn't going to allow himself to simply think he was better than others in the surrounding kingdoms.

suddenly something solid walked right into him. the knight's gaze shot down slightly to see that it was none other than the person he was looking for. the twenty seven year old was startled by the sudden collision and his helmet dropped to the ground with a clatter as his arms reached out to steady the princess just in case she fell, though he did see the contents within her basket spill all over the floor and frowned. based upon what he saw, she had gone into the village, alone. he did not at all allow such behavior but he had been unable to go with her in the first place because he was with the king and queen. sighing, he released her from his grasp before bending down and picking up the books and apples off the floor and putting them in the basket once he set it upright. "you know better than to leave her without someone with you princess." he scolded slightly as he continued to retrieve the items that had fallen out. he was harder on her at times because she was young and he cared for her safety, he simply pinned that to being part of his duties anyway so he never gave it much thought.

Amaia honestly could not believe that she had just walked into one of the people she had tried very hard to completely to avoid (at least for the next week or so). She was so started that she lost her footing and nearly fell backwards. Just then, she was caught by the knight and let out a sigh of relief. Her nurse maid would kill her if she had ruined her new dress. She was held in place by Milo, who grasped her and held her firmly in place. She had never realized how strong the man truly was, until she winced slightly from the intensity of the strength of his grasp. As soon as the man had released her from his grip, she dove down in an attempt to retrieve her basket and its items before he saw the contents, but alas, she was too late and when he let out a sigh and began picking up her various items, she rolled her eyes. 'Here comes the sappy lecture, again.', she thought to herself and no sooner had she thought it, had he begun speaking, "I did not leave without anyone", she said trying to be witty and gesturing to Chester, who was seated behind her panting. The german shepherd was definitely quite spoilt, which one would immediately notice upon first glance at his rounded, well fed belly and evident lack of exercise in his old age. The dog truly could not protect Amaia from even a fly.
Amaia picked up one of the red apples off of the floor, dusted it off and shined it, then offered it to the knight. "These were freshly picked this morning?", she handed it to him. This was her way of going for a peace offering, especially because she desperately did not want Milo to tell her sister that she had been out in the town alone and had not been there at all for the announcement.

xxxxxthe first knight heard her words and then looked at what she gestured at. the man laughed, yes laughed, something he didn't do often. that dog wasn't going to protect anyone and even he knew that, the animal wasn't even fit as it looked because amaia spoiled him. milo simply shook his head, curly locks bouncing slightly with his laughter. before he could stand, he was being offered an apple and he raised a eyebrow at her, his gaze slightly curious before he took it from her as she spoke. there was never a time when he was offered something that didn't come without some motive behind it. picking up the basket, he stood so he was no longer crouched on the floor in front of her. "first off, that dog had no ability to protect you if you're threatened princess." he said with a shake of his head as he began to address her. "secondly, what is it you want me not to do princess amaia? i know you're still upset over last night but you do need to realize a lady is not safe alone in the dark." he added as he went and retrieved his helmet and then held the basket out to her. "but i do thank you for the apple." he did have manners so that was no surprise as he was a gentleman in all aspects. he still had yet to inform her that the king and queen would be expecting her later today at the tournament but he'd get to that in a moment.

Amaia blushed when Milo had let out a mocking laugh. She had not been expecting that kind of reaction at all. It made her giggle a little, but really more at how silly she felt after that. Chester let out a bark, attempting to scare off a bird that was now on top of the pathetic slobs head. His fur had slightly greyed over the years and he was looking more mottled than he should. It was obvious that he would not live for very much longer, but Amaia pushed that thought right to the back of her head, especially after losing her father. "I will have you know that Chester has saved me from quite a few things in my life. He is an excellent watch dog and companion", she paused, "At least, in his youth he was", she turned her attention to the ground and pouted slightly, but remembered that she was never to slouch and was to be a lady at all times- blah blah blah...- and quickly looked back up to the knight. "Well", she smiled, but this wasn't her usual smile, this one had the markings of deviousness written all over it, "You do remember the incident from last night, right?, she queried, half dancing around the man, "Well, I do not want anything more than for you not to rat me out again-", she caught herself in a mild angered tone and corrected it by ending the sentence with "Good Sir". She smirked again, "This apple. This delicious, absolutely mouth watering apple is a peace offering, sir", she half teased. "Hopefully a knight in shining armour as you has a little goodness in his heart as to not see the princess locked away in her tower for the rest of her natural existence?", she flirted, biting into one of the apples.

xxxxxlord help him, the girl was flirting with him. he was not at all prepared for this nor was he expecting it. petyr wouldn't be too happy if he heard what milo was about to say for the most part. he chuckled at her words and noticed her blush. the knight raised his eyebrows at her words for the most part. he knew it too good to be true to have a simple offering from her, she always just had to want something in return. a smile crossed the knight's features, a toothy one at that. "hmm. i don't know princess." he said at first, a bit thoughtfully, as if he wasn't going to let up on telling the queen and king of the incident from last night. "i'm not one for peace offerings when you continuously go against my warning, sweetheart. so this can go two ways princess, one ending in me telling them, the other in keeping my mouth shut." he said at first with a grin on his face. "you can start by not leaving alone, having me or one of the other guards with you when you head out and maybe you might get that nightly stroll you wanted to take. if you can manage this i won't be telling your sister or the king about this." he added as he ran a hand through his curly locks before glancing at her again. "because i surely wouldn't want a beauty like yourself locked in a tower for the rest of your natural existence." yes, he was flirting with her and he had no shame for it. he found it amusing even if he knew he was out of line in the process. she didn't seem to mind any of it at all and it wasn't like anyone else was going to hear him but her. though his voice carried because of how low it was, he never rose it to the point that most people probably would, speaking at appropriate volumes depending on the situations.
