Vincent didn't really notice that he had been standing in her space. It was a reaction that had come naturally to him. She was innocent, and there was something with very, very cold blood running through these woods unwelcomed. Or they were the unwanted ones. He shook his head twice to himself before looking down at her flushed face. His eyes fell onto her lips for a few seconds as she bit them, but he quickly looked up at her eyes and nodded firmly. "Promise," he said with a strong tone. Vin started to walk with her, and he kept himself as close as possible. They couldn't quite walk beside each other, but he trailed on her left side. He glanced down at her small hand gripping the hem of his shirt a few times. It was weird for him, this much human interaction. But he'd be lying if he said he didn't like it.
Relief flushed his tensed muscles when they reached the circle of cabins. Vincent felt an urgency to tell Alec about what he had noticed, but when Abelia asked for his cabin number, he didn't hesitate to share. "Six." He felt his shirt relax onto his body as she let go and started walking towards his cabin. Vin knew it was against the rules for her to be in there, but he couldn't help but grin. Someone who's willing to break the rules, he thought. He followed right behind her, the toe of his shoes almost hitting her heels. He stood silently when she knocked on the door and proceeded to enter. "You barely know me and you're strutting into an empty cabin with me on your heels," he said, his voice steady. "What if I was planning to murder you?" Vin raised an eyebrow and closed the door behind him. She was a little more open than he would have assumed a near stranger to be.
Vincent followed her into his room. He let an embarrassed, weak smile to creep upon his lips. He raised his right hand and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Yeah, I was planning on dealing with that." His voice came off as nervous at first, but he almost instantly straightened up. He was appearing weak, and that wasn't how Vin liked to be. He couldn't help but chuckle when she asked how old he was. It humored him. "Is that an honest question?" He tried to form an answer to her question in his head, to push it off, but then she came up and straightened his shirt out. Vin looked down at her, his gaze showing nothing. "Abelia," he started. He stopped when she stood up and walked out of his room as if to leave. When she started what sounded like an apology under her breath, he gave her a sympathetic look. But she soon returned to his bed with a brief never mind. He took a few, large steps and stopped at the edge of his bed. He reached out and traced her arm with his fingers. He turned away and walked towards the door. Vin locked it and turned back to Abelia with a smirk. "Let us find out." He walked back to her, and stared into her eyes. "What made miss Abelia decide to stay at a random camp of cabins?" he said to her, his voice light and playful. Vincent bent his knees and grabbed her hands. He held them in his palms, almost comparing the size. He looked at her with a grin; his dark eyes flaring.

HEATHER ↴
xxxxxxthe adventurer
───────────────────────────────────
| title adventurer | age twenty | species human | crush none | tags calix, alec
alec had long since gone, his frown expressing his obvious concern. she was a bit worried for her brother as well, she hated the thought of him being so stressed out, but he had always seemed that way hadn't he? she shook away the thought, a smirk tugging at her lips as she looked back at calix, perhaps he had always been alec's best friend but for heather, he was her friend as well. her hand had been on his cheek which was fairly warm, enough to cause her to ask about it. "are you sick? you're a bit hot." she regretted the statement as soon as she said it. hot wasn't the best word for it. she had already embarrassed herself by smacking him - and now it seemed like she was hitting on him. her gaze met his for a moment, his olive green eyes were always something she had always admired about him, but her eyes quickly shifted away from his. she had already removed her hand from his face but her palm was still warm from it. "sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." heather murmured the apology in a quick fashion before he could say anything about her touching him.
she glanced up ahead, her unease leading her to the action, but turned back to calix only to see him ruffling his hair. he always did that, she assumed it was something of a nervous tick but she had to wonder, what was he supposed to be nervous about? surely she didn't make him nervous, she had been with he and alec while they went through their most awkward fazes together, even when they had still had those cracking voices that all guys went through at that age. she couldn't help but laugh at the memory of both calix and alec trying to maintain serious expressions as their voices broke into high-pitched whines. she was probably idiotically grinning at calix now but who cared, she was happy. she heard his rather deep voice and shifted on her feet, "you actually want to come with me?" she was surprised to say the least, normally nobody showed any interest in accompanying her. she smirked at his wink and nudged his side with her elbow, "pff, flirt." she teased, hoping to get a rise out of him which she was now sure she would.
she was turning to continue her walk when calix's hand touched her side, her body flinching as he had. it wasn't out of fear really, but she hadn't expected it really. she didn't mind it much but just as it had begun, it quickly ended. any affection she had ever received from calix was short lived, whether it was that night where her homecoming date had ditched her for her best friend and he had sat up with her to talk, or when they were younger and her parents had been killed in the accident and he had stayed with her until she stopped crying. just short moments of care before he quickly jerked himself away or played the moment off as something else. alec had always requested calix look out for her when he couldn't himself but she never knew why. she was strong, did he not trust her? she felt like a child actually. always being told to be careful and people always looking after her. she supposed it had begun when her parents had passed away, everyone pitied her and acted as if she couldn't fend for herself.
so there it was again, he'd step out and look for something, as if he knew of some deranged killer that she didn't. she had parted her lips to speak but shut them before anything came out. heather hadn't realized it before but she appreciated the care he had taken to make sure she was safe. her soft eyes watched him carefully as he brushed his finger tips against the water, but his question caught her by surprise. the thought made her bite the inside of her lip, "I don't really know. I just felt like there was something out here. stupid I know but I just had to see." she glanced at the ground where calix was now looking, her eyes falling on the palm sized print of some animal. a wolf perhaps, but it seemed old and faded from the muddy ground. his comment made her jump, a harder crease forming between her brows, "why's that?" his requests gave her a feeling of sickness in her gut, was he just trying to freak her out or was there more depth to his comments?
her teeth bit into the tip of her tongue, a habit she had formed since she was young and one that she carried on when she worried. frightened? he happened to be frightening her with what he was saying. her gut twisted as he placed his hand on her chin, she couldn't tell if she felt safer or more concerned with his touch. it was sincere but hinted his fear as well. "do you really feel that way? nobody acts like that's remotely true calix," her voice faltered and her head turned away, not wanting him to see how she felt. her father had always called her a big girl, his strong princess, even though she was so thin and frail. she'd always try to wrap her small fingers around his thumb as he spoke to her, a comforting gesture they'd shared. there calix was, speaking to her the same way her father had. a knot had formed in her throat and it took a hard swallow before she gained her composure and looked back at him, "speaking of alec, perhaps we should go back, I'm sure he's worried." she resisted the urge to reach for his hand as she had done so many times before when they were children.
she had begun to step away from the spot they were standing but stopped in her tracks. before her leather boots was another and much fresher paw print, large enough to dwarf a man's palm. it seemed to match the size of the other, maybe the owner of the land had a dog. she brushed her bangs away from her eyes and behind her ear and turning her head to once again meet calix's gaze. "what do you think its from?" she didn't know if he'd have any idea but was curious about what he thought anyway.

Alibi bit back a laugh, knowing in this environment she could practically get away with anything seeming as though none of the pack wanted to make a scene. In her mind she began to plot what she could do, but decided against it because of the further punishments they entailed. The warning in the males voice made a shiver run along her spine, knowing she would hear much more about this later. So without a second thought, she walked away rather quickly, keeping her head down as she did.
When she looked up she was alone, which was par for the course. Her moodiness wasn't very attractive, but she sort of liked being alone because it gave her time to herself to do whatever. However, this was different. In this particular situation it would be nice to have a companion to talk to. Instead she just played it cool, sitting at the base of the nearest tree. With a sigh she decided to look interested in a scab on her leg, and couldn't help but picking at it. She only stopped when it started to bleed. With a sigh she just let the lids close over her eyes. Pretending to nap.

Her hair dancing in the light breeze, Ice brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. Her eyes fluttered closed as she sunk into the feeling of the chilled wind nibbling at her wet toes. A part of her was glad that she was able to come to this camp. Even though she didn't mind being so close to humans, she normally preferred to be in the heart of the woods. Where she could be blanketed by tall shadows and the crisp scent of pine. With an unlimited supply of game, and the ability to shift to her heart's content.
The huntress's train of thought was derailed when she heard a female voice. Turning her head so that she could see the girl, she simply nodded in answer to her question. Selene's definition of cold was being covered in snow. Not only was she a werewolf, but she also came from a Finnish family. So, she basically spent her entire life in cold climates, and in her eyes, today's chilled wind was worthy of only a thin jacket.
Selene shifted her position on the rock so that she could see the girl better. "I'm fine.", she assured, her soaked feet leaving marks on the boulder. "I'm used to it.. I actually find the cold quite refreshing." Making her way down, the fae leaped the last few feet to the ground. Digging her toes into the loose pebbles near the shore, Ice stuffed her hands into her jacket and rested her icy gaze on the lake. "Relaxing, isn't it?"

{{ role; The Scout - feeling; ok - location; Cabin 7 - mentions; Cal - tags; Cal, open }}
➣ Alex bit his lip in annoyance, large hands gripping the steering wheel tight and leg muscles ready to shift from the brake peddle to the gas. He was late, all because a couple of bozos just didn't know how to drive and ended up running into each other, quite literally, on the road. The wreck ahead of him had been cleaned up now and he focused on the cars ahead as slowly, one by one, the red break lights ceased and traffic began to flow again. Letting loose a long sigh of relief, he shifted his foot to the gas peddle and took off, rushing the car in front of him. He had wanted to get to the cabin early, simply because he just wanted to enjoy this vacation. Nothing was more relaxing then morning autumn air and he wanted nothing more than to be able to sit back and enjoy it. But he had already been late this morning... and now the traffic jam. Everyone was going to be there... and he wasn't sure if he was actually going to get that relaxing chance. Oh well... there will be other mornings.
Pulling down the gravel road, he chose a space next to an old puckup truck and climbed out of his much smaller car. Shutting the door, he approached the information house, hands in his pockets and gaze wandering about the area. It was beautiful, the fresh autumn breeze, the leaves littering the area around him, the wonderful feeling it all had. Just beautiful. It made him itch to turn and run through the colorful forest. But instead, he opened the door to civilization and approached the women at the desk. He gave her a curt nod and friendly smile. She gave him a simple morning in return and handed him the keys to cabin seven and a brochure... that he would most likely toss in the trash. Stepping back outside, he opened the brochure up and located a map inside, looking around for a few seconds, he shrugged and tried his best to follow the little lines on the paper that would hopefully lead him to cabin seven.
Once he reached the cabin area, the place seemed to look more... alive. He only caught sight of the familiar faces really, not bothering to meet the human's gazes. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about the whole situation just yet. This not being just a werewolf expedition. Then again... this wasn't an expedition at all, just a vacation. And humans took vacations too... so of course there were going to be some here. He had nothing against them... just got a little uncomfortable, that was all.
Approaching the door to cabin seven, he slipped the key into the lock, quickly realizing, it was already unlocked. He stared for a moment, then shrugged, grabbing a hold of the door knob and turning, letting himself in. "Hello?" He called, figuring his cabin mate was already there. He tossed the large black back pack onto the couch near by and began to walk around the main room. Taking in the fire place, furniture, and location of the kitchen of course. The place was all around cozy... a little old, but cozy nonetheless. After taking the small tour around the main rooms, he began to wonder towards the bedrooms, hoping the good one wasn't already taken.

ABELIAxDULCIA
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
role ; the selfless xxxxxxxxx tagged ; vincent xxxxxxxxx feeling ; curious
Abelia felt extremely comfortable in his presence, knowing she was lucky to have him around during her stay here. She wasn’t certain as to how many others would be as content to spend their time at her side. She knew she had the tendency to be rather forthcoming and ‘invasive’ if you will, but she just has never been one to be untrusting towards others. Of course, at times this has led to great pain, but she hasn’t yet found the downfalls to overcome the benefits, and so far, Vin only proved her theory to stand true. Hearing him promise to stay with her pleased Abelia greatly, practically beaming as she more than happily left the rather eerie forest. Of course, she had plans to venture out at another point, being as she was an extremely curious individual, and always felt a need to investigate her surroundings. She sighed as stepped on her heels at various intervals, shooting him a playful glare, though she didn’t mean anything by it at all. Abelia couldn’t resist but to laugh softly as he basically told her she was crazy, looking up to meet his gaze and raising a brow ever so slightly. “Oh, strutting?” she retorted, making a point to truly sway her hips as she made her way into the cabin, turning around with her hands placed on her hips and tilting her head ever so slightly as he stated that he may be plotting to murder her. “Do what you must, but I would love to stick around for a while more at least, please Vin,” Abelia murmured softly, though a grin arrived on her face, finding the thought rather amusing. Maybe she shouldn’t have requested to try and keep the roommate out after all. The thought caused for her to laugh softly, shaking her head to herself. So, sure, she was a bit of a daredevil some might observe due to her carefree and trusting nature, but there was something about her that helped her to get a feel for people, and it tended to turn out true. She couldn’t help but notice the embarrassed light that entered his eyes, showing a reassuring smile as she attempted to help him feel more comfortable. “Well, now you don’t have to,” she stated as she met his gaze, not minding at all that she had done so, being as she enjoys being able to help in any ways at all possible. She might not be able to help out with many large tasks, yet the small things she was quite skilled at, being an only child with a sickly father to care for. She learned a lot throughout the years, nothing of which she wished to replace. The thought did bring a sad thought across her mind at the memory of her father, though she let it pass, instead remembering how much he had loved camping, and knowing if he could be with her now that he would most certainly be out fishing somewhere.
Abelia listened as Vincent questioned whether her question was serious or not, raising a brow and giving a look as though asking if it looked at all like she were teasing, though she showed a soft smile that assured it had only been a jab towards him for the fact she took the time to unpack his clothing. After her small moment of conflicting emotions and having returned, she looked up to him as he stepped over to her, Abelia’s face flushing ever so slightly as she tilter her head, watching him closely. Feeling a finger trace the soft skin on her arm, she couldn’t resist but wish for more of his warmth and affection, watching in slight worry as he walked away, though he soon returned after having locked the door, causing for a smile to bloom on her beautiful face. Hearing his question for one reason or another caught her off guard, thinking as he took her small hands in his, watching as he compared the size, squeezing his hands softly before pulling him in towards her, so that she had her arms wrapped around his shoulders, giving him a hug as she let out a deep breath. She giggled at the sight, releasing him and patting the bed next to her. “I came for the sake of getting away from my lonely house. It is a bit much for a single lady to be in by herself,” she admitted, sighing slightly at the thought. Her father had left everything to her, and as much as she loved the house, she felt a strong need to take a break away from it, being as it caused her too much pain to not see her father’s familiar face within its walls. “How about you Vinny,” Abelia crooned softly as she rest comfortably on the bed, her gaze going to his eyes before moving to look outside of the window once more, feeling a desire to question why he had wished to return to camp so soon. Of course, she didn’t wish to make him any more uncomfortable than he might already be, instead pushing the thought away as she watched him closely. “Do you know anyone here?” she couldn’t resist but ask in curiosity, feeling an ever so slight embarrassment if he had others he might rather be with and she was keeping him from them. “I don’t,” she admitted, though it was already rather apparent. “I guess I sorta know you now, huh?” Abelia added with a gentle smile on her face, laughing softly as she leaned against his side, taking his large hand in hers as she examined his tanned skin, noticing several scars, though unwilling to bring it up at the moment. She knew quite well they hardly knew each other, and meant the statement in more of a teasing manner, though she did feel rather comfortable around him, for him having been a complete stranger just moments before. What could she say, he was attractive in as many ways as she could possibly identify.

Vincent watched as she smiled after he returned from locking the door. She seemed so innocent and full of life. He felt almost evil standing in her presence. His rudeness and aggressive attitude was usually enough for anyone to be scared away, but near her, nothing but good seemed to come forth. It was odd for him to remain so calm and collected for such a long amount of time. Vin couldn't really grasp the idea of why, or how, he managed to subdue his nastiness. He assumed it was his instinct. In the presence of something so innocent it subsided and chose not to come forwards. He was still trying to grasp the whole concept of instinct.
Vincent felt a lot more relaxed after her hand squeeze. When she pulled him into a hug, his hands trailed along her back. He could feel the curve of her spine under his fingertips and it fascinated him. He almost frowned when she pulled away; removing the space between them. Vin straightened his legs out and turned to sit on the bed. He sat quickly, causing the bounce of the mattress to envelope his thighs for a second. He rested one hand on the fabric and the other in his lap. His ears rang slightly as she stated loneliness and being single. He understood the single part, but the lonesome half never really applied to him. Not with the constant company of his pack. "Well, now you have company," he stated obviously. When she called him Vinny, he almost made a sharp joke. He bit his tongue, letting the taste of blood soak it. He really didn't mind the nickname, it's just that the people who normally called him something toy like Vinny were making fun of him. Mostly his pack or enemies. He'd get over it.
"I came here because my p-" he paused, a loud cough escaping his lips. He shielded his mouth, to be proper. "My friends and I decided it would be fun. Get out and meet new people. Bond, I suppose," he added swiftly. Man, I really need to be careful with my words. Vin smiled at her, his jaw twitching slightly. "Hmm, I guess we do know each other now," he chuckled lightly. He watched her closely as she picked up his hand in hers. Her hands looked so delicate and soft compared to his. It almost disgusted him. Vincent looked at her face as she examined. He could tell she looked curious. "Are you wondering about all the scars?" he asked calmly. His dark eyes searched hers for a few, long seconds before they jumped back down to their hands. He didn't really know what to tell her. Most of them were from hunting accidents or fights with other werewolves.
"There from fights, mostly." Not a total lie. "And others are random. Burns from the oven, cutting myself with a knife. Things like that," he laughed. Not exactly the type of 'cooking' he normally does, but still not a lie. He shrugged, moving his free hand to cup her other, also free hand. "Do you like scars?" Vincent looked up from their hands at her. He moved his one hand away and smiled softly. His eyes scanned her slowly, taking in every detail. There were so many things he hadn't noticed about her before, and he had to admit, she was very easy to look at. Beautiful, he thought. Vin wanted to trace along all her curves and scars with his hand; figure her out. He wanted to know more about her. Know where she came from, who she was and what she enjoyed doing. Her hobbies, even. He had to hold back a quick sigh. "Abelia," he started. He barely knew her and he wanted to tell her the truth. Vincent bit his tongue again, but this time to stop himself from speaking the truth. Alec would kill him. Ten times over.

Cal had already unpacked most of his belongings, neatly placing his clothes into the wardrobe and his personal items on shelves and his bed-side table. He slid the now mostly empty suitcase under his bed and leaned shoved his backpack into the wardrobe, then stepped back to admire his new room. It smelt slightly damp, but hopefully that would disappear when it got a bit more dry outside. The room was cozy and felt a bit more like home now that he'd put on his patterned, navy blue duvet cover on the bed, and placed a small selection of photos on the shelves he was provided with. Cal sighed deeply, but smiled. Everything felt calm in the cabin, but Cal could imagine the trouble Caine had already gotten into. He was too intelligent for his own good, and people often found him annoying and rude because of it. Despite their completely identical looks, Cal could be identified by his far more calm demeanour. Plus, he was left handed compared to Caine who was right handed.
Just then, Cal heard the door open. 'Hello?' came a male's voice, followed by the sound of a bag being thrown down and footsteps as the guy appeared to be exploring. Cal made his way to the door of his bedroom, then moved into the living room.
'Hey, there!' Cal called out, making himself visible to his new cabin mate. With Cal's classic, friendly smile he approached the guy who he'd be sharing this place with. 'My name's Cal,' he began, offering a hand for the guy to shake, 'How're you doing? There's a free bedroom just over there, where you can put all your stuff.' Cal gestured with a small jerk of his head in the direction of the other bedroom he'd found. 'Would you like some hot cocoa, tea, coffee or something?' he ran a hand through his hair as if his offer wasn't a big deal of something. Cal just liked to be nice to people, and felt he had to seek the approval and friendship of others so that he wasn't overlooked, especially because his brother could tend to overpower people. Cal didn't want to be dragged down with his brother's reputation, and so made sure people knew he was a completely separate person, even though he was as close as he could be to Caine. The thought crossed his mind that these people didn't actually know they were twins. It was always amusing to see people's expression when an exact replica of one of them turned up.

Caine left his position next to Vincent on the porch and made his way over to the two other girls who had been arguing. He held out both his hands at his sides as if in an 'it's ok, i'm friendly!' gesture, but obviously this wasn't enough. Both girls appeared to be giving him daggers. If looks could kill. To be fair, he had spoken out of turn and he knew this, but Caine liked to get involved with other people, even if this meant he came off like an a**hole.
'None. Of. Your. Business.' the brown haired girl spat at him. Caine took a step back in surprise, his eyes widening. He broke out in a wider grin and chuckled as she stormed off, being sure to aim a rude gesture in his way. 'I like this girl...' Caine thought. She seemed a bit touchy, but he admired that she could stand up for herself.
By the time he had his bearings, the smaller other girl had disappeared. He didn't feel like going after either of them and taking the time to introduce himself properly, as he'd probably wound them up enough already. At least he'd broken up their argument and there was no longer any shouting. What he did notice, however, is that the brunette was now over talking to another group of people. Perhaps they knew each other. Caine only knew Cal, and immediately felt curious about the others and their apparent friendship status. If anything, he felt a bit left out, but managed to hold himself back from causing any more damage. 'Well...' Caine huffed, running a hand through his thick blonde hair as he turned one hundred and eighty degrees on his heels back in the direction of the cabin, as he'd kind of abandoned Vincent. Wait, where'd he go?
Caine scrunched his face up and pouted when he realised Vin had also left. Great, now he had nobody to talk to. Caine shrugged, slightly regretting how full-on he had come across in his first meetings with the few people he approached, but he continued back into the cabin to continue unpacking, and he made a plan to sit outside once he was done to do a bit of people-watching. After all, he was going to spend a long time around them, and wanted to know more about them all as soon as he could. Caine simply liked to know.

----Vaara sighed as she looked around the small camp, everyone seemed to be busy unpacking. She looked over at her own cabin, she hadn't seen anyone else go in yet so she had no idea who her room mate would be. She stretched out and decided to go and sit on a bench and wait for someone to become available. As she sat she tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. She leaned back against the seat and stared into the sky for a moment. She hoped something would happen soon, though it was nice to have this time to relax for now, she hated having no purpose for too long. She sighed and brought her knees to her chest, resting her chin on top of her knees as she waited for something exciting to happen. Her eyes flicked lazily through the various areas in the camp, it was a pretty little camp, she was glad to be here. Especially if it gave her the chance to meet some humans, hey, maybe she would meet a cute boy! She giggled, she had had a crush on Calix before when she had been younger, and even Alec had piqued her interest at one point or another, but Vaara had never found someone who reciprocated the feeling, or who had meant enough to her for the relationship to be deemed particularly worthy in her opinion. Due to this I suppose you could say that Vaara was actually rather innocent. She sighed lightly as she watched the world go by, picking at the hem of her playsuit every now and then and chewing her lip.
Maybe there would be a campfire? Vaara loved campfires, she loved to get to know people over marshmallows and hot chocolates and singing songs. Vaara looked at each of the cabins, boys seemed to be one side and girls the others, none of the cabins looked particularly hard to break into. If she managed to kindle a romance on this camp, it wouldn't be too hard to go and have a night time visit. This year things were going to change for Vaara. She had always been the 'safe' girl, the girl who never strayed far from the rules, she was going to flip everything on it's head this year. Maybe even get into a little bit of trouble. She knew the camp greeters would be around, but as a werewolf, how hard would it be really to sneak past the defences? She chuckled to herself, a mischeivous glint lighting in her eyes. This was going to be a hell of a lot of fun. Now she just had to get to know some people, maybe get into the wrong crowd? She would be careful not to allow Alec or Calix to know of her intentions, they would only try to reprimand her and remind her of her rank. Not that she disliked her rank, she loved it! She adored the pack too, they were her true family, but she owed this to herself, after this summer she could return to sensible Vaara again, but until then, watch out world.

Calix raised a brow at her sudden question, shrugging his shoulders as he cocked his head ever so slightly to one side, giving a rather adorable appearance. “I don’t believe so, but thank you,” he murmured the last part with an ever so sly wink, noticing the seeming appearance of regret come across her face, causing for him to chuckle ever so softly in amusement. She was rather adorable, one of the many things that was always causing for his guilty thoughts whenever in her presence, he simply couldn’t help himself when she was near him. He sighed at the thought, looking over her as though trying to find something about her that he didn’t care for, but there was nothing, only causing for a deeper regret. He wanted, practically needed, to be with his best friend’s twin. How did he manage to let that happen? Hearing her next statement caused for an ever so light blushing to come across his handsomely structured face, grinning ever so slightly as he responded, “Don’t be sorry, alright?” he attempted to assure, not wanting for his own awkwardness to drive her away. The thought nearly caused for him to wince in alarm, unsure as to what he would do if he ever ran a stake in between their friendship, and she was no longer in his life. At least at the moment his feelings were hidden, and she was still near. Calix would rather admire her from afar forever, rather than no longer have her presence in his life. The fact she seemed even remotely surprised by his acceptance to go with her only reminded him of how cold he had been acting to her recently due to the developing feelings. He offered a small, reassuring smile, “Of course,” he murmured simply, though there was an evident warmth in his voice. As they made their way, and she nudged his side, doting him as a flirt, he laughed, raising his hands, “Continue on little lady,” he spoke with a devilish grin, part of him actually pleased she took his gesture as flirting, but the other part wondering how seriously she meant it. Upon reaching the lake and inquiring her reasoning, he was rather surprised by what she said, looking back to her in evident concern. “I don’t see how that is stupid,” he responded, not wishing for her to feel that his question had been at all in a negative manner, he had truly just been curious. Of course, the fact she felt there may be something out here caused for a thoughtful reaction, curious as to what it may be that the girl was sensing. What she said next caused slight alarm for him, straightening his stance as he avoided her gaze, unwilling for the concern he felt to be shown all so deeply. “The last thing we need is for you to come out here and get lost or hurt,” he somewhat lied, although it was partially true, just not as direct as it could have been. “I know, you aren’t some child anymore, but that doesn’t mean that things cannot happen,” he added, feeling a need to remind her that as invincible as she may believe herself to be, that she is not, and never will be.
The fact that she appeared so worried and alarmed by what he said caused for him to immediately feel regret, but if frightening her would cause for her to listen, then he felt it was worth it. All he wanted was for her safety, at the moment he didn’t care as to how comfortable she may feel. It was always best to have a cautious edge rather than going into things without a care in the world and a narrow mind. As she bit into her lower lip, he sighed, feeling a slight pang of guilt for what he had said to her, but reminding himself it was for the best, and that in the end, he would be glad for this unsettling moment. “I do mean that, and I assure it is true,” he promised, a very clear look of assurance on his handsome face as he spoke to her, watching as she seemed to run various thoughts through her mind, ever so curious as to what it was that they might concern. He had a general idea, but you can never pinpoint anything when it comes to young Heather. “Of course,” Calix murmured in soft agreement as she suggested they return to the cabins in search of her brother to see how he might be doing. He was just glad to get her out of this eerie forest and back around others, for sake of having more eyes on the alert for trouble. Then again, most others would be in a carefree and excitable mood. The realization caused for an ever so slight frown to appear on his face, though it only lasted for mere seconds, before reminding himself that he is more than capable of watching over her and caring for her, he always has after all. Calix hoped that she wouldn’t be attracted to the prints in the soft ground, yet as they went to leave, unfortunately, she pointed out a much more defined track, requesting to know what it may be. He flicked his gaze from her to the track, wondering what the best way to handle it may be, before he came to the fact that he hated to lie to her, but knew she would laugh it off as a joke once he told her. “Looks like a werewolf to me,” he responded with a small grin tugging at the corners of his lips before he chuckled softly, encouraging for her to continue walking. “Come on, let’s get back to the cabins now,” he encouraged with a soft smile. The walk back was brisk, for sake of wanting to return to the shelter of the cabins. Upon entering the hoard of people, he chewed on his lower lip ever so softly as he cast his gaze around in search of Alec, making his way over, seeing he appeared to be preparing a bonfire and showing a small, satisfied smile. Certainly, this was perfect to help and ensure Heather’s safety. “Let me help you,” he offered, taking some of the wood that Alec had gathered and beginning to arrange it in such a manner in which he had done so for years, stepping back to look over the large mass of wood. Slipping a lighter from his pocket, one in which he always kept on him, he glanced over to Alec with a raised brow, handing it to him. “Here, you start it, and Heather and I will go get anyone that might not notice,” he offered, glancing back to Heather and offering a small smile. “Work your magic, let’s get this bonfire started,” he stated with a grin as he walked to her side, gesturing for her to begin her work. Her jubilant and addictive attitude was enough to encourage anyone to cut their own arm off, he was more than positive they would have a near full bonfire tonight. Though, after looking around, he failed to catch sight of Vincent anywhere, causing for him to frown ever so slightly, wondering what it was his pack mate was currently occupied with.
